Facilities not working in the spa, additional cost for using (albeit facilities not working), we paid and not informed the facilities weren’t working, and extra charge for flip flops. Liked everything else but avoid spa / additional costs.

We ate at The Grill and our expensive steak was overcooked and the Hugo Spritz I ordered was not good. The Hugo Spritz I ordered at the bar in the lobby was 100x better.

The grounds were absolutely beautiful. I love the original estate rooms at the front of the hotel, and the lobby is beautiful. We enjoyed craft cocktails at the bar and live music in the lobby. Our room was huge!

Huge luxurious and quiet room. Lovely touch to include bathrobes which could be used going to/from the hotel pool. Beautiful grounds for exploring and plenty of food and drink options within the hotel. Only 5 minute drive into Kilkenny town centre too. Very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

No traditional Irish music

The history and we were lucky enough to chat with the owner!! The design of everything is fantastic! The breakfast, including the honeycomb tray was fabulous! Loved it. I was very disappointed that there was no traditional, Irish music!!!

The food was superb!! Both dinner & breakfast were exceptional. Staff was attentive & friendly. Enjoyed the evening music. The grounds are gorgeous. We enjoyed the walking paths before dinner. Would definitely stay again & recommend to others. Truly the best lodging of our entire vacation!

Probably the prices of things especially the food, it was delicious but not cheap and added to the cost of the rooms it makes it an expensive holiday I had a treatment in the spa which was really good but the relaxation room of the spa was a bit disappointing compared to other hotels we’ve stayed

The food in the Eden bistro is not up to a five star rating it’s just ok- the interiors of the new extension has everything thrown at it - no coherent design just a keletic miss of lots of modern designs - it is not sympathetic to manor front & does not show any hint of Irish design - I was disappointed. Spa is too small & needs to accommodate a more outdoor indoor feel / again the interior has let it down.

The grounds is beautiful - gorgeous walks & the new extension is sympathetically done & the old manor remains as front of house / the choice of food & restaurants is good - with the Lady Charlottes tea room a lovely addition.

Loved my stay here, but as I mentioned above I think that 25euro for use of the thermal suite is very pricey.

Lovely modern, comfortable rooms. The air con was a big plus. The grounds are beautiful, as is the hotel itself. The entertainment provided in the lobby was lovely and added to the atmosphere. The food in the bar was delicious. The staff were very attentive and friendly. I used the thermal suite which was very enjoyable too, but I did find the 25euro a bit much, on top of the cost of my hotel stay. Overall, we had a lovely experience and I would certainly recommend anyone to stay at the Lyrath.
