Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Czech RepublicMichael was an excellent host, very friendly and helpful. He gave us great travel advice to explore Burren. The accommodation is very nice, clean and comfortable. Quiet place. Gort is a nice small town, lively but not too much touristic. Great food at the Field and live music at Hennelys. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Lavally House was a brilliant place to stay for a base for a trip to Galway races. The host Adrian met us on arrival and he was so friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The house is amazing and the room was very clean, comfortable and spacious and right in the centre of Gort. I would recommend this to anyone and we will definitely book again the next time we come to Gort.

The house was excellent and our room inc en suite was perfectly clean. The hosts were charming and most helpful if giving us tips about touring the Burren. They don't offer breakfast which suited us fine because we could get exactly what we want down in a nearby Centra rather than paying a big fee for a full breakfast in a hotel or B&B much of which probably wouldn't eat.

The accomodation was very clean. In a quiet neighbourhood , but in walking distance from the centre. The owners were very helpfull in guiding us with dinnerplans, and travelplans. There is a beautifull garden where you have a privat space you can relax.

IrelandEverything was fantastic! Michael was a brilliant host & my mother and I couldn’t recommend this accommodation enough. We brought our dog and the whole perimeter was secure so our dog could be off leash and roam freely. Michael also had a bag of treats and water for our dog too! The room was lovely, super clean and comfortable. The bathroom was massive and well equipped. There was coffee, biscuits etc and we walked to the town and brought back food and Michael had cutlery etc waiting for us at a lovely outdoor seating area when we came back. Great location - only a 5 minute walk into the town. Couldn’t fault anything! 10/10! We would love to come back :)

This property was perfect for our stay - the room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. It also had outside space where we could chill out in the evening - Our host Michael offered to provide glasses, plates etc for any refreshments we were having outside. We had our little dog with us and Michael was excellent with her ensuring she had lovely chilled drink and treats on our arrival - he treated her like the princess she is. We would recommend this property to anyone going to the Gort area and will definitely be back!

Lavally House was a wonderful surprise in Gort. Adrian, the owner, greeted us and was friendly, helped us book a great place for dinner, and organize breakfast close by. The parking was easy, and the room was very nice. I would happily stay there again! Lady Gregory's Coole Park is close by.

Lavally House is a great choice of location to overnight on a long road trip. It has gated parking and very close to main street in Gort. The bedrooms are ensuite, beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable. Hosts Michael and Adrian have great taste in interior design. I highly recommend this property. I loved it so much that I came back and stayed again on my return road trip.

I liked.... The beautiful flower garden and terrace! Spacious bathroom. Proximity to town center. Very clean, bright spacious house. Attention to artistic detail in house décor. Safe overnight parking. The welcome we received and privacy of stay. Room rates are very fair!
