How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Dark hallway in AM. Pillows need a refresh.
Lots of charm with big restaurant and bar. Basic rooms. Good breakfast with options. Parking. Walking to sites and restaurants.

Might get a bit noisy on the weekends but we were mid week so it was ok.

Water pressure wasn’t good and the bed was very hard and not comfortable and I like a firm bed. There was a broken lamp in the desk which was surprising in a hotel like this.
This hotel is an entertainment hub with restaurant and bars. They have weddings here. The facilities are really beautiful and there are places to eat all around. Car parking is behind the hotel and is secure. Room was a Garden Room in separate building which was charming and a good size and had an iron and board. Short stroll to the centre.

Water pressure in the shower is weak. This is really the only bit that I didn't like. But I do love a strong shower, hence only 9 out of 10.
Very nice room, very spacious too. The bed is huge. Private parking just behind the hotel. We spent the night here on a road trip, the location is perfect.

While we were hoping for the opportunity for an early check-in, we made the most of our time touring around Kilkenny.
Great recommendations for places around town - since we arrived VERY early (0650), and on bank holiday as well, we had breakfast at Tower and Castle the first morning. Wonderful time around Kilkenny. Wonderful breakfast at Langton's on our departure morning.

Unfortunately we arrived as a large wedding party was taking place, which seemed to have spread throughout the hotel. We had to pull our cases through the wedding guests to get to our room. It was only the following morning at check out that we could appreciate how lovely the many parts of the hotel were.

Fire alarm went off multiple times during the night and in the morning. Nobody came out to speak with any resident about what was happening and no apology for the next morning.
Great location, looks beautiful, easy check in and parking. Staff were nice.

The girl with the pink hair at breakfast. To say she is rude is an understatement. She has no manners and talks over you before you finish talking. Then she was cleaning the table beside us and sprayed the cleaning spray all up my arm and on my top and I didnt get any apology, she just looked at me for a few seconds while I was wiping it off and then wiped the table and walked away. It was such a good stay but she honestly ruined our morning.
The room was beautiful and most of the staff were lovely.

Food at wedding reception was cold aftet waiting too long to be served. Bàr staff need to serve drinking customers instead of concentrating on serving food all the time. need better training.

I would have preferred to stay in main hotel rather than annex Garden suits at back of hotel.

The bedroom furniture was old and tired and made a terrible noise when opening the wardrobe so couldn’t do so at night.
Fantastic facilities for the wedding we attended. Very attentive staff throughout the evening.

Minor complaint but the batteries in the tv remote could do with being replaced
Location was excellent, staff were super, especially Aoife in the bar. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Will definitely be back

Bed was extremely uncomfortable. Felt like we were sleeping on the box spring.
Property was beautiful and in a great location. Parking lot behind hotel was very convenient. Staff was nice. Plated breakfast was delicious.
