Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesLike the other reviews say, the pods get hot at night and there’s no ventilation in the rooms. I brought a USB fan that really helped!
Great place to stay! They even let me check in 3 hours early because my room was ready. I was worried about safety in the area having read other reviews but being from another major city, I felt fairly safe as a solo female traveler, at least until 9-10pm. Also really appreciate the lockers in the room, big enough for a carry on and backpack with some space to spare.

SwitzerlandNo fridge in the kitchenarea (chill out room) - that's a no go. I know it is not easy to run a fridge in an area that is far away from control.
The room was perfect for 4 people. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hostel is situated close to Conolly station, convenient, but women might feel uncormfortable at night time.

United KingdomThe breakfast was a joke for 12€, I've had breakfasts in Central London hostels for £5-6 (yes, this year!) that were superior. I was honestly shocked. The breakfast staff as well was kind of rude and couldn't be bothered, also accused us of trying to get breakfast without paying even though we had done just because no one had explained the system to us. The environment was nice downstairs, but the corridors upstairs felt a bit prison-like, don't know how else to put it. We had a private room which felt nothing like the pictures. Far worse than a budget hotel, horrible view, and overpriced for what it actually was.
Nice environment, very friendly staff at reception, felt secure. Powerful, hot shower.

MalaysiaIt’s noisy at night- with the chattering and bands from the streets below, because we were located at 1st floor, and the window was opened for air (summer time)
The pods are comfortable and clean. In the women’s dorm, there is a bathroom in the room. There is lift access.

United KingdomIt’s a shame that there are no kitchen facilities, food is available but obviously this makes your stay more expensive than if you were self catering. It is possible however to get hot water from the bar if you want to make your own hot drink. The property has a large left luggage storage room but the lockers are not free and this can be also quite an expensive additional cost if you want to leave your luggage for a few hours and are travelling on a budget. It’s actually the first time I’ve had to pay for leaving my luggage at any hostel I’ve stayed at.
The property is spotless - the room and my pod in an eight pod mixed dorm was clean and peaceful . The bathrooms were all extremely clean and well stocked. The property has a lift which is a godsend if you have heavy luggage. Plenty of nicely lit common areas to sit and work or hang out. The dorms were spacious with good lockers, personal shelves and intelligent lighting avoiding the need to use a torch if coming in late so it’s not to disturb your fellow roommates.

NetherlandsThe only downsides to the pods themselves are that indeed they get very hot (the rooms in general are pretty warm already). Also, that only USB sockets are provided in the pods. This just charges your devices much slower. Thankfully managed to fully charge them overnight.
First time staying in a shared dorm. Thought I'd hate it, but it was pretty good thanks to the privacy curtains! Overall most people in the dorm were quiet and didn't bother or interact with me. The room was clean and the staff is very friendly and around 24/7 if you need anything. The extra ladies bathroom on the first floor is also a nice touch.

UkraineMight be a bit cleaner in the shower (inside the shower) Also, get earplugs, or you will hear all the music from the bar downstairs. And I would not say that it was cheap, however, good for the price
Very big hostel, there were people checking in all the time. Also, the staff at the reception were there all the time to help you. The room is good, there are sockets in the room and also USB-A and USB-C chargers in your "niche". The bed is okay, only you need to sleep with your head toward the room, so you get fresh air; otherwise, the curtains will not let air (and light) to come in. The shower and toilet were in the room, and also in some common areas. In the room, there were also shampoo and shower gel. There are lockers for each room with a code lock, so no personal lock is needed. Breakfast is fine: potato pancakes (sort of), fried eggs, sausages, apples, bananas, everything for cereals with milk (+toppings), cheese, salami, bread and buns, tomatoes, cucumbers, juice, coffee, tea. No towel. But it is possible to buy one from the reception for 4 euros as well as get a travel adaptor (and earplugs). Every night, there is an event in the bar downstairs (karaoke, music jam, etc.)

SlovakiaThe only issue—which has come up a few times before—is that the bed can get a bit warm, even though it was only around 12–13°C outside. Also, I personally found the pillow a bit uncomfortable.
Check-in was super easy and fast. Breakfast was great with lots of options to choose from. The bathroom was clean and spacious, and the shower had an automatic switch-off after 15 seconds—which wasn’t a big deal to turn back on.

Austriathe rooms were HOT at night, took me a long time to fall asleep, not just because of the heat but also because of the noise (in the hallway and on the streets), people in the hallway kept going into their rooms and you could hear the doors open and close so loudly! also, I am 1,80 so my bed was too short and I didn‘t have a lot of space.
bathroom was amazing, clean and huge. rooms were always clean
