Absolutely nothing!!!

A beautiful period house, full of atmosphere. Gorgeous antique furniture. We had a fantastic huge room with lovely views of the garden. To top it all was how kind our host Richard was. He made us feel extremely welcome. He is a very interesting, knowledgeable man. Breakfast was delicious too, with Richard’s lovely home made jams and honey. Looking forward to our next visit!!!

The house could do with some repairs and maintenance , But to be honest this added to the charm for us ,sadly most of the rooms the bathroom is across the corridor but it is dedicated to your room

we Liked the country house feel and Richard was a True gentleman, The gardens were wonderful and the car parking is excellent, and the possibility of late check out if needed

There was not anything to dislike. The furnishings and decor in the house are well loved but are in keeping with the building as are the items displayed around the house.

It was a lovely continental breakfast with a range of different fruits, cheese salmon, hams, breads and a fruit tarte. Breakfast is buffet style with Richard being very attentive and ensuring that everyone had was enough tea, coffee, fruit juice and he replenished food as needed. Seated at a large dinning table in a beautiful room made breakfast time feel very unique and interesting.

Nothing we did not like, but you must be prepared to make allowances for this being a very old building.

We thoroughly enjoyed our four days at Errisbeg House situated in a lovely quiet spot in the pretty coastal village of Roundstone. The house built in 1875 is full of antique furniture and effects which create a terrific atmosphere. Staying here was a really interesting experience. The King room was large with very comfortable 6ft bed and separate en-suite bathroom. Richard, who is a Duke and descended from the French peerage, was very kind and friendly and made us feel very welcome. His guidance on local places to visit and dinner venues was very helpful. We were able to use the kitchen to make beverages with everything provided. The breakfast was just to our taste, not the full cooked Irish but fruit, cereal, smoked salmon, ham, home made honey and jams, all delicious.

The house is a fabulous old property in a great location. Richard, the owner, is a lovely, friendly guy, who makes every effort to make guests feel very welcome. The garden is fabulous. Walking into Roundstone takes around 10 minutes.

We loved everything, it couldnt have been better in anyway .

Staying with Richard at his ancestral home was an absolute privilege . It felt like we were coming home each day . Lovers of history, art, nature and solitude would really appreciate this stunning house in a superb location. Wake up listening to the birds, the location is Ireland at its best . Peaceful, tranquil and a little gem tucked away in the Irish countryside yet just a ten minute walk into this stunning village. Fabulous fresh seafood restaurants, a couple of nice pubs and coffee shops.

The house is a beautiful old house with lots of history attached, it has lovely mature gardens. The location was perfect, a short walk to Roundstone village. Richard, the host, was a lovely warm person and made our stay very special. We had a wonderful weekend in Errisbeg House.

No TV but plenty to do.

A beautiful old mansion set in large gardens and within walking distance to Roundstone. Richard is a superb host and ensures your every need is met. Parking is on site and the whole setting has tremendous ambience. Breakfast is excellent with lots of local elements directly from the garden or oven. The pricing is superb with the breakfast only £6 a head.

Really nothing but if you’re into a lot of modern things this might not be the place. It had WiFi but it is an older beautiful home and Richard love’s makes his guest feel comfortable

It is a different place but Richard makes you feel very welcome and he wants you to enjoy your stay. Location was great and it had parking. Richard provided a great breakfast and the grounds are beautiful. Our room was wonderful and very comfortable. We had a private bath which was nice

Choice of cooked breakfast.

Quirky and magnificent. How often do you get served breakfast by a Duke?? Richard is a legend. Breakfast was very homely and you have the option of not having it. Easy walk into Roundstone.Recommend O'Dowd's for food and drink, all other pubs seem to be dominated by big TV's and music, O'Dowd's has a family homely feel and great food.

Really interesting house with fascinating historical connections. Richard the host was a delightful person who was able to make useful suggestions about places to visit and where to eat. Definitely a place to stay if you like individual and quirky residences. Thank you for hosting us.

The place is run by the 7th Duc de Stacpoole or Richard, as he introduced himself. Richard is an exceptionally nice and humorous gentleman who owns and maintains the listed house and beautiful garden. The quiet property is just a few minutes' walk from the centre, pubs and restaurants. Furnished with antiques belonging to his family and steeped in history and stories, it feels like a museum to touch and admire. The lovingly laid breakfast table leaves nothing to be desired. Worth mentioning are the homemade jams and cakes, the fresh fruit from the garden and the rich selection of cheese, sausage and fish. The freshly brewed coffee rounds off the start of the day. Thank you - we very much enjoyed our stay at this lovely place!

This is a little gem of a property. The host Richard is a charming man, who wants you to enjoy his house. He serves beautiful homemade jams, made from fruits from his garden, with homemade brown bread. The house is full of character, and a 10-minute walk from the town centre. Recommend taking the back road.
