Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNothing, it was perfect. I don’t like that we had to leave.
The property was beautiful, very clean, and in an absolutely gorgeous location. The hosts had thought of just about everything. The kitchen and bathroom were fully stocked and we felt at home. At one point we were confused about an appliance (silly Americans abroad for the first time) and one of the hosts came out to help right away. I wish we were still there. Can’t say enough good things about this place. Planning on recommending it to my mother in law for her future trip.

The home is BEAUTIFUL and comfortable and has an excellent location!! Liz has thought of everything to make your stay a home away from home. We brought our two teenagers to Ireland for a week and this home was our mini break in the middle of our time there! Having the ability to prepare our own meals, follow our own schedule and wash clothes in this lovely spot was a true gift!!! We were able to reach the grocery store with ease and plan day excursions from the home. It is very close to the town of Doolin as well as many lovely Clare sights!

GermanyThe bed in the second (smaller) bedroom was a little uncomfortable and in need of a new mattress. The water sink and shower didn’t drain well. The house is right on a very busy road, where the cars drive by pretty fast. It’s actually one house, but divided into two separate apartments. We were not aware of that.
Spacious and clean. Very nice kitchen that was very well equipped. Close to some lovely walks and Doolin village (2km away). Communication with the owner was good.

United KingdomThere was nothing I didn't like. It's perfect
I liked everything about this accommodation. I was there for a 4 night break last week, with my two dogs, and a friend, and we loved it from the moment we walked in. It was absolutely spotless, and really comfortable. Liz, the host, had thought of everything. It couldn't be in a better location for sight-seeing in the area. The view across to the Aran Islands and Galway's Twelve Pins is spectacular. Quite honestly, we could have happily stayed put each day, just looking at the view. Also, as I had my dogs with me, it was essential to me that the garden was safe and secure - and it is, so the dogs could potter around outside and I could relax knowing there were no gaps where they could escape. I've already recommended it to a friend who has now booked it for next year. And I, most definitely, will be back - the sooner, the better!

United KingdomNot negative but shower wasn’t the best of pressure And could do with some logs for fire rather than peat
This property has everything, with doolin being very remote and no shops nearby, there was everything you could possibly need even fresh milk on arrival, If u forgot to bring something it didn’t matter as it was most likely already in the property, kitchen was better stocked with cooking aids than my house at home, including spices, stock cubes, coffee, tea, (coffee machine) Bathroom had atleast 10 clean towels, shampoos conditioners, shower gel Throughout the house had amazing storage, every room had wardrobes, bed side tables etc etc Living room had large tv with sky tv and fast broadband, also spare blankets/throws for colder days, beach towels at front door for summer beach fun, Log burner fire and excellent heating

CanadaThe beds could use a topper, they were hard for our liking. Nothing at all else to not like here.
The pictures online of the view do not do this property justice. It was absolutely beautiful, the hostess was very responsive, lovely and helpful. Great experience, we would definitely recommend it and we would go back. Close to Cliffs of Moher, the town of Doolin and the ferry to the Aran Islands.

IrelandThere was nothing we did not like about the property. It was a longer walk from Doolin than we anticipated mainly due to it being uphill. But all of the pubs and restaurants in Doolin had numbers for taxi drivers
The property was in great condition, very clean with modern comfortable furniture. There were lots of unique/quirky accessories that made the property more individual

IrelandNothing really, if I was to be really fussy I would maybe suggest a net curtain on the bathroom window as the glass is clear and not frosted and is right behind the toilet but that really isn't a big deal, we just left the blind down.
Absolutely perfect location for all the tourist sites that you would want to see, basically everything was within a 30 minute drive, most are even less than that. Fantastic house to stay in, lovely view over Doolin pier and the Aran Island of Innis Oirr. Comfortable, very spacious, clean and modern house facilities with all that is required for a hassle free holiday or short stay trip. The owner Liz is very accommodating and always contactable if need be otherwise she just leaves you be to enjoy your stay there. I would highly recommend it

What an amazing location. The cottage is super easy to find and provides spectacular views out over the ocean. The sunsets are truly beautiful. We were a party of 3 adults and 1 infant and we had plenty of space. Great outdoor area and space to park your car. Great well stocked kitchen and the bathroom was lovely. One of us uses a wheelchair so the ramp access into the property and the open shower were amazing. Thank you all for a lovely stay.
