How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The location is quite a distance outside Cong, but a nice walk nonetheless. Unfortunately, I went to the wrong location using Google Maps, but fortunately the man at that location was friendly and gave me the right directions. He told me that this - guests for Blakehill House arriving at his residence - was a regular occurrence... after an interesting conversation I asked if he might be able to hang a sign at his property saying: This is NOT Blakehill House! The TV did not work on arrival, but on my return in the evening, that had been rectified.
I had a wonderful, relaxing stay here... the room was clean and very spacious with great facilities - tea/coffee-making facilities, fridge, TV and a fantastic and abundant 'in-room' breakfast. The bathroom was huge and I made use of the luxurious jacuzzi. Check out at 11. I had enquired from the host if I could leave my big bag before check in at 5 (as I had arrived with public transport) and gladly, I was able to, not only do that, but also check in (at 2); I was very grateful for this flexibility.

We didn't require a cooked breakfast, so we had very little interaction with the hosts.
Lovely quiet rural area, only 3 minutes from Cong by car. Kettle, fridge, toaster, and microwave in the room and everything required for a good continental breakfast.

Comfortable bed. The room was well equipped and had a small fridge with various breakfast items. I especially enjoyed smoked salmon. Self check-in, which is convenient for us...we did not have to worry about time.

Tip for future hikers: there is a way to avoid the main road (which I personally thought was too dangerous) by taking the red trail through the forest and then join up with the smaller roads that go accross (~40 mins).
Very comfortable and clean room, with large bathroom and very reasonable price. Room included fridge/toaster/microwave and everything for a continental breakfast! Owner was very kind to pick us up and drop us off at the village since we were traveling by public transport and I hadn’t checked the accessibility by foot very well beforehand.

The property is amazing. Out of this world. We especially loved having breakfast in our room in our own time. Host is more than welcoming and would go the extra mile. Fantastic time here. One of the best we have ever stayed in.

Hugh bedroom and ensuite. Spotless clean. Very comfy bed. Great continental break in room. Nice table and chairs to sit at and relax while eating breakfast 😋. Plugs beside bed.

There was nothing that I did not like
The continental breakfast suited me just fine. Generous choice of cereal, bread . Smoked salmon was very nice. Plenty of fresh milk for tea. Good facility for tea making , toaster in room and microwave.
