Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandI have nothing to suggest.
Excellent location, easy access to parking and a bus into the city centre. We were greeted warmly, by our hostess who clearly explained any thing we needed. We didn't have time for breakfast but the dining table was set looking out onto the garden...so we would have enjoyed the meal in comfortable surroundings.

AustraliaCouple of small things like toilet didn’t always flush. Bathroom taps were like in a public toilet had to keep pressing to continue. Some of the drawers needed fixing. But generally no complaints. These are easily fixed. Would love a little fridge to store some supplies but we got by.
Friendly and helpful. Clean. Good water pressure in shower and comfortable beds. Easy to get to main city area by bus after a little walk. Close to local shops

United StatesThe top floor sloping ceilings and the family room where we were were a bit low so we had to be careful not to keep bumping our heads, but there’s really nothing that could be done about that so it just requires adaptation.
An exceptionally excellent breakfast with several options. Our host was friendly and helpful in orienting us to Dublin. She provided offstreet parking. she was clear and gracious about describing house rules, such as locking up protocols and the timing of breakfast. She provided a truly welcoming and relaxed homelike environment.

United StatesThe room and bathroom were so very small. We didn't have drawers to put away clothes and no room to put our luggage.
It was quite close to town, a short bus ride. Julie was very friendly, we enjoyed chatting with her. Breakfast was good, too. There was a nice little sitting room downstairs.

CanadaMinor complaint about a bit of dog barking in night - foxes in the back garden apparently! And a neighbour’s dog not theirs.
Annandale was comfortable and clean. Host and assistant both very pleasant and helpful. Only a 10 minute walk to catch bus into town. Bus takes about 15 minutes to centre. Wonderful breakfast!

JordanBreakfast was not included - but, we needed to leave early anyway.
The room was incredibly comfortable and had nice amenities - such as an en suite bathroom, coffee and tea (with nice little cookies), and things like shampoo, hair dryer, and plug adapter. It was one of the nicest places we stayed. The owner is clearly making an effort to make her guests comfortable. I also liked the area as it felt more authentic than "tourist Dublin". Fifteen minute drive from the airport.

SloveniaThe beds were a bit too soft for my liking (just a personal preference). If you are planing to travel to the city center every day, the location can be a bit inconvenient if you are not used to walking around 10min to the nearest bus stop.
Safe and quiet neighborhood, hot shower, free coffee, tea and cookies in the room, easy check in and check out.

GermanyWi-Fi worked but was mediocre at best. Despite the good location, travel times to the City Centre are longer than expected, which is NOT a problem of Annandale B&B but a result of messy Dublin traffic. During busy times, allow 40 min altogether to the City centre or 60 min to the Guinness Storehouse. Just keep in mind if you're on a schedule.
We received a warm welcome upon arrival and got tips where to eat and which busses to take. Several types of cooked breakfast (including vegetarian options) were available at EUR10 per person/day, which is very convenient. Rooms aren't big, but big enough for a few days, and we knew that in advance, so that's fine. Our room showed to the back and was very quiet at nights.

South AfricaIts not a complaint at all... as we are a tall family. But the family suite is in the loft, so the pitch of the roof makes movement quite restricting and we kept bumping our heads :) Short people will be fine!
Breakfast was excellent. Owner and her daughter were very friendly. Accomodation is very central and easy to access busses and taxis.

United Stateswe liked our family room, the ceiling are quite low, but we are all short, so it was not a big problem. Some had mentioned in previous reviews that dogs kept them awake. I am a light sleeper, so I wear ear plugs and all of us had a good night sleep. The host was friendly and warm. When Aer Lingus cancelled our flight a few hours before departure, she was so helpful and gave us options if we had to stay another night. Breakfast was excellent! We would stay here again!
