Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SloveniaSecond stay and still perfect—safe enough for solo ladies, strong enough for digital nomads! The owner? A walking angel. Fast Wi-Fi, shared kitchen, fridge, microwave… Honestly, all I’m missing is a cat and I’d never leave. But hey, if you’re looking for luxury or 5-star pampering, maybe try a fancy villa instead. This is simple, honest comfort with heart.

New ZealandI loved my stay at White Sandat - so much so that I extended my stay several times. It's so close to the centre of Ubud and yet it's very quiet. There are many excellent places to eat along Sandat and nearby, and it's just a lovely area to walk around. Puspa is an amazing host and I have nothing but good things to say about her and about my stay. Thank you Puspa!

AustraliaThe pool looks nice in the photos, but the water didn't look very inviting in person while I was there. The overall layout is quite cramped. I don't know how I would have felt if I had one of the standard rooms near the pool.
I chose the more expensive room with the balcony/courtyard - it was great for privacy and space. There were some quirky touches in the room, giving it a bit of character. Plus I slept really well here. There's also a communal fridge and kitchen area available for use.

SpainNothing, but it's true that if there are disrespectful guests, you can wake up early in the morning to their voices, but because of disrespectful guests and not because of the hotel itself. We noticed this on the last day because it was thd weekend and originally when we got there it was a week day and the hotel hadn't received all its guests yet. Otherwise, no noise and fantastic.
We absolutely loved the accommodation. The owner was incredibly kind and hospitable and was flexible with everything. The bed and mattress were fantastic, the room itself was spacious and comfortable. The pool was a bit cold but nice to have just in case, nice and clean. Free coffee and tea for guests and filtered water to fill your bottles which is also a huge plus, with a fridge for your leftovers, very well organized. Lastly, the bathroom was perfect, hot and cold water was to be grateful for. The noise was minimal, you could sleep at night, be in the center of Ubud but hear absolutely nothing but roosters and nature. You can park your motorbike in front of the hotel at the end of the alley, and if you ask for recommendations, the owner will help you with all, motorbike, laundry, directions, talking to people for you and putting in a good word, etc etc.

United StatesNothing, it was perfect. It is tricky to find initially, but they are working on getting a new sign. They will also send you photos that are helpful in finding it!
I booked this place last minute for 2 nights and kept extending my stay night after night. The room was clean, very comfortable bed, soft clean sheets, and newer furniture. The owners have quiet hours set from 10pm - 8am which is really nice. I enjoyed lounging by the pool and having access to the kitchen to make tea and get water. Oh and strong, reliable wifi. The best part are the sweet owners, Puspa and her husband. They are so kind, lovely to talk to, and are so willing to help you with things, planning, etc. The location was an easy and nice 5-10 min walk to city center. This is great because it is tucked away enough that you don’t hear any street traffic.

SloveniaThank you so much for helping me with carrying my heavy luggage! Much obliged!
Already before my arrival at this lovely guesthouse the kindest owner Puspa made sure to send me the exact address and telephone number just in case. Due to the amazing and STABLE WiFi (really rare in Bali) the guest house is the perfect choice for digital nomads. The cleanliness is impeccable and the pretty bedding smell personally reminded me of coming home. 😊 As a solo female traveller I felt safe and welcomed. The pool is great for refreshing, you can cook in a shared kitchen and even make your own juice. The friendliest owners who also live at property are always available for whatever you may need. Looking forward to 4 more weeks here!

MexicoThe mattress!! They must change it, urgently! It's not comfortable at all. You do not rest. And put a sign with a time to talk in common areas. One in the morning and it seemed like a party, or they were talking on the phone shouting. Although that part is not the hotel.
For me everything was perfect! I was comfortable, with enough space for me. It has a fan and it was enough. It met my expectations

Had the quadruple room all to ourselves! The room was clean, quiet, central to Ubud, had great WiFi, free water refills, and the staff were super helpful! We extended our stay, twice, the time we were here as there was so much to do and it was so convenient. Other people staying here were lovely and quiet at all times too. Just a lovely place to rest!

I stayed for 2 months if that’s anything to go by! This place really felt like home. I met other people working remotely and staying there longer which was lovely, and we cooked meals together in the kitchen. The room was super clean, location excellent and walkable to everything, and the pool is super nice too. Puspa was amazing and super helpful with all my questions - from where to find things to borrowing a helmet/iron! Always to talk to too. Loved my stay :)
