How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewcomfy bed is my only positive!
toilet was broken, so was the shower. 4 bed dorm was for 8 people not 4. Bathroom wasn’t cleaned once while we were there. dirty and run down. Also tried to charge us more money upon arrival as they said booking.com was wrong.

Verified reviewLocation and pool and beds are comfy
The bathrooms need a lot of work. They don’t drain properly, if you have a shower the whole bathroom floor gets wet. Water pressure is very average and kind of only comes out of one section in the shower head. I had mosquitoes in my room too, think they came through the bathroom window.

Verified reviewLocation was cheap as value of the money but bathroom not clean. In the morning I heard workers using drilling machine so not a nice way to wake up after a long flight. No towels offered in this price. Stuff was very nice though. Although if y want to save money it’s ok. If u want comfortable hostel I would not pick it again.

Verified reviewThe stuff is super nice, always friendly and helpful. Especially Hermin is such a lovely person. Terima kasih 🙏🏼🥰 The place is cute and the other guest were great, we had very good conversation and a lot of fun. The pool clean and invites to chill. Free barbecue was included and what is awesome as well, is that they have double bed sizes for couples in a dorm. What is perfect for couples. Enjoy your stay there, I am pretty sure you will

Verified reviewThis our third time returning to WTD as we love it so much! Everyone’s so friendly and the staff are really helpful. Laundry is cheap and you can hire a bike. Rooms are comfortable too.
A bit of noise on an evening but it’s expected in a hostel!

Verified reviewNice pool area, lovely staff and the 4-bed dorms are helpful with double beds for a couple. The location is good for exploring Canggu. Free water refill is always a bonus too!
The second time we’ve stayed here but this time was not good. An awful night sleep as other guests and music was really loud until 1am. No staff there to keep the shouting and loud music down. I know it can’t always be helped if some guests are inconsiderate and ignorant of their own behaviour, but this was very annoying. First time around was more chilled, and this time was more party vibes. It would help if breakfast was included as well.

Verified reviewSo happy to stay here very clean & good place to stay. The location in the middle of Canggu. I feel so safe for single woman to stay. Five stars for the staff, they are so friendly. And they have a free Sunday BBQ, and you can taste a local dishes.
Maybe if they put more beanbag or chair or sofa. I can imagine i'm having a chill time in front of my room while daydreaming or reading my book.

Verified reviewNice hostel with a great pool & relaxing area. The 4-bed dorm was fine and the double beds were comfy. The location is good as it’s around 20 mins walk to the beach.
Considering there are two people sharing a bunk, there is a lack of space to put your items at night and everything is on one side of the bed. The lockers are under the bed which is awkward. This hostel was cool but it wasn’t the cleanest and the rooms & bathrooms are dated, so in need of an update and deep clean. They also played music unnecessarily loud during the day & at night, even if there wasn’t anyone sat outside, maybe it was to make it more of a party atmosphere but I got the impression nobody booked the hostel for this.

Verified reviewReally cheap so a backpackers dream really. Lots of things going on in the hostel, very social. Jimmy and another woman who worked there were lovely.
My boyfriend’s trainers went missing, were presumably stolen. Staff said they’d check CCTV but they never updated us. We stayed in the double bunks room and had 3 disturbances during the nights in our 8 nights our staying there. The doors are unlocked for anyone to just walk in, which made us feel unsafe and we couldn’t get a good nights sleep because of it. Random people were coming in during the night. Should definitely invest in locking the dorm rooms. Our bed sheets were never changed, despite us asking at least 5 times for them to be changed.

Verified reviewBeds were super comfy - double beds were huge! Pool area was nice and sociable Different events e.g. free BBQ, family dinner, games night, etc. The staff were welcoming - Hermin was lovely! Great location!
A few ants in the room underneath the beds (where the luggage was kept). A bit noisy on an evening from the music downstairs but stopped at 11pm ish
