Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaIf you’re a light sleeper, roosters in the area will wake you up before 5am. Road outside the resort is extremely busy with no footpaths, which can be very stressful.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Close proximity to Alchemy if you’re into yoga, breathwork classes, sound healing etc. Ubud centre is less than 10 minutes drive and the free resort shuttle service available.

AustraliaThe only problem was it was a little out of central Ubud shopping/restaurant precinct. There were some lovely shops and cafes nearby (Zest, Kopi Pangeran. Bintang Supermarket is a 15-minute walk away). This wouldn't have really been a problem, as the hotel runs a shuttle service in and out of Ubud whenever you need it, but for the fact that they have made one of the return roads one way until 8pm. This makes a 10 min return trip a 30 min return trip as they have to go the long way around. Not the hotels fault, of course.
The staff were exceptional. They helped us arrange celebrations for a friends' 50th birthday. They went over and above in their hospitality. They arranged an upgrade for the birthday girl - complete with flower arrangements. One lovely lady even staying back after her shift finished to help us. The breakfast was lovely. The rooms were traditional in style and kept beautifully clean. It was great value for money. We all loved our stay at Sungu Resort

Villa was rustic but beautiful, very comfortable for 2 adults and 2 kids. The included breakfast was really nice. Whilst the walk to Ubud centre was a little daunting (skinny road, up/downhill), the Resort offered shuttles into Town. The area itself is within easy walk of nearby cafes and restaurants. The staff were very helpful with recommendations on activities!

BrazilThe member of the staff who took us to a tour arrived half an hour late, so we didn't have time to visit the last attraction on the list. He told us to go by ourselves the next day, which we did, but when we arrived there, the attraction was exceptionally closed.
The bed is very comfortable and the swimming pool area is very nice. Breakfast is very delicious with many options. Taking a shower in the bathroom with no roof is particularly refreshing. Everything was very clean, and water bottles were provided daily.

EgyptSince nature is all around you so there are different kinds of insects and geckos but honestly, the room was always clean and no insects were inside.
The resort is amazing with nature all around you. The location is great and is near to Ubud Center and they offer a free bus shuttle. The staff was very helpful, friendly and responsive. The pools are very nice, the whole resort is very cozy and relaxing. I'll definitely recommend this place! We loved our stay there.

AustraliaThe lush gardens had plenty of mosquitoes but the room had a fogging spay and the bed surrounding mosquito nets. The bed needed double power points next to it for phone recharging. Our small “l” cottage didn’t have a TV. Which we didn’t need. The room had only one inside uncomfortable chair but two chairs and table outside.
Friendly competent staff. Well looked after beautiful Ubud gardens. Traditional Ubud style. The shower is open to the sky, next to the marbled bathroom.

AustraliaThe 2 bedroom villa was private and quiet with plenty of room. Bathroom was pretty special. Private pool in tropical garden setting was an enjoyable bonus. The main pool was also lovely after a hot day out in town. Breakfast each day was delicious with a good variety to chose from but couldn't go wrong with the Indonesian breakfast options. Massage was great. Friendly, helpful staff. Will be back!

United StatesAir conditioner in room was not adequate and areas needed to be cleaned. Area was very noisy at night, with constant roosters crowing and traffic noise. There was confusion on ordering breakfast that was included in our stay. No free bottles of water, when area is known to not have safe water.
The room and bathroom were very large, with unique features. The breakfast was good with several selections. The staff were friendly and polite.

ItalyThe bathroom is big, meanwhile the furniture in the entire villa is quite old.
The villas offered by the hotel are very big and comfortable. The stuff was very helpful in booking either the sunrise hiking on Mount Batur and the transfer back and forth Gili Islands.
