Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaMy elderly friend was placed on the second floor, with a total of 34 steps, which she found very difficult. Facing the district football field was a mixed blessing. We got to watch soccer matches and schoolchildren around the area with their morning Physical Ed classes, plus marching practice for upcoming Independence Day. But this made it pretty noisy in the afternoons into the early evening, so, a quiet location it was not.
The gardens and pool were exceptional. Beautiful, lush and well maintained. The included breakfast was varied and catered for all tastes. My room was a traditional Balinese one, very large, with a huge deck on the ground floor, as I have trouble with stairs ( knee issue). The onsite restaurant was very handy if you just wanted to dine-in and avoid the crowds and traffic at night.

AustraliaStaying on the top floor, too many steep stairs. Next time I will get a ground floor room.
Location was great, shopping and restaurants close by. Breakfast was great. Hotel is old and tired, however clean. Staff was friendly and always happy to help out with any questions.

AustraliaThe room we were allocated was top floor, too many stairs for us. Room was tired and needs renovating, however was clean. We stayed at this accomodation mainly for location. I would stay again, would request a ground floor room next time.
Breakfast was part of the accomodation package. Breakfast was very good and tasty. Location was fantastic, 5 minute walk to the Ubud Markets, plenty of restaurants nearby. Staff were fantastic.

MauritiusThe rooms need to be renovated, too old. Lacks cleanliness especially toilet and sink. Also, they should conduct a pest control for lizards. Maybe it is because the rooms are close to some trees but not pleasant at all having lizards all around. It has so much potential and can do better.
The staff were very helpful, food was really good and a great location. We got full privacy. Hot water available but had a few issues, the staff provided assistance immediately.

United Kingdom- Location was off of Main Street, however there was a lot of noise from the bars along the street at night which was on until late (our balcony door had a gap when closed which probably didn’t help with this). - Wifi could occasionally be a little spotty and we would lose connection.
- Pool area was nice - would be nice to have some chairs/sun beds though as none were out on our visit. - Staff were friendly and helpful, Adi in particular was really accommodating and helped us to arrange extra services such as laundry and activities within the area. Thankyou again! - Rooms were cleaned daily. - We stayed in a double room and it was very spacious, bed were comfortable and air con worked well. - Location was good, close to loads of shops and restaurants. The palace is within walking distance too. - Breakfast was nice with a fruit bowl included, limited choice (as expected with it being free), however it would be nice to have the choice and be able to pay a little extra to upgrade and order off of the full breakfast menu.

ItalyWe had some issues with the shower which wasn't working on our first day there. Also, we booked a room with 2 king-size beds for 3 people and we received one with just one king-size bed and a single mattress on the floor.
The room was big and clean, and the location was great, in the center of Ubud.

ItalyThe room smelled really bad. There were no table and seats on the balcony (which was more like a terrace, not covered). Lamps on the nightstands didn't work.
The room was spatious and quite clean. The breakfast was really good and with many choices. The position is perfect. The staff was really nice.
