How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewA stunning villa set on the outskirts of town. Huge bedrooms and bathrooms with an equally generous open living space with quality furnishings set in a tranquil private garden. A beautiful pool just steps from the living space with its own cabana. Everything you could wish for. Several small warungs just a few minutes walk away. It was a lovely quiet village to visit.

From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the stunning location, immaculate cleanliness, and thoughtful attention to detail throughout the property. The villa is spacious and tastefully decorated, with plenty of room for the whole family to relax. The private pool was a highlight for both kids and adults :) The breakfast each morning was delicious – fresh, varied, and beautifully presented, and we especially enjoyed having it on the lovely terrace. Gede and the entire staff were incredibly friendly and responsive, always available if we had any questions. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and are already looking forward to coming back.

The staff were incredibly attentive and went out of their way to ensure our stay was perfect. The villa itself was immaculate, with spacious, clean, and beautifully designed rooms that offered both comfort and tranquility. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of, making it feel like a true home away from home. A special mention to the manager, Gede, who was always available to assist with anything we needed. He went above and beyond to make our stay as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Our driver, Wayan, was another highlight of our trip. Not only did he safely drive us around, but he also shared his local knowledge and showed us some of Ubud’s hidden gems and must-visit spots. His warmth and expertise made exploring Ubud an absolute delight. Overall, the combination of excellent service, spotless accommodations, and the dedication of Gede and Wayan made this villa stay truly outstanding. Verified reviewQuiet and comfortable. The villa is well kept and beautiful. The staff were all amazing. They offer in house spa treatments, drivers, lunch and dinner if needed. We ordered dinner 3 times during our 5 night stay and it was delicious every time. We had a massage 2x and they were very relaxing.
We had to take down some of the wall art because my kids found it creepy.

Verified reviewThe pictures don’t do justice to the property - so pretty and so thoughtfully setup! also the staff is exceptional - anything and they’re able to help, whether it’s meals, spa etc! Also all the services are so reasonably priced! my family just didn’t want to leave from here :)
location is a bit far from the heart of Ubud. has its advantages but if you are hoping to just walk to the market or restaurants, can get a little hard…but the advantage is the quiet and peace :)

Verified reviewVery spacious, thoughtfully decorated villa with an artistic touch. Pictures don't really do justice to this place. Gede, the host, went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant - from giving instructions to taxi drivers to letting us know about the local traditional ceremony taking place on the day of our visit. Very private space, yet within a walking distance to some local cafes (15 min walk). The pool is nice and cool.
For some reason a bit difficult to find, but the host is very helpful assisting and available in person/ via WhatsApp.

Verified reviewan excellent price-quality ratio. very good breakfast with the possibility of adding extra elements (for a fee), very large accommodation for only 4 people, large, bright rooms, equipped with incredibly large bathrooms. exemplary cleaning every day, clean pool. everything superlative! an accommodation that reflects the traditional Balinese spirit.
due to the location, through the rooms and next to the rooms you will also find the gecko in a rather large size (approx. 15 cm), something that made us tense the whole time
