The accommodation was excellent. Beautiful wooden bungalows surrounded by nature, right on the riverbank. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection on the menu. The staff was extremely kind! Highly recommended!

In short, perfect. Made was perfect host with a lot of tips and tricks and also got us a driver when we could not find one. Even managed us a scooter rental (which was almost new)Cottages are Very well Made, spacious and with a lot of soul. Fridge was a nice addition, bathroom with Natural light was also Very beautiful. Breakfast A la carte classic. Swimming pool clean and well taken care of.

A Magical Stay in Eastern Bali We had an incredible stay at Villa Mayu, a true haven of peace nestled in the lush nature of Jasri, East Bali. The villa features a beautiful terraced garden by the river and a refreshing pool — a perfect place to relax and reconnect with nature. The atmosphere is deeply Balinese, with soothing massages and traditional offering ceremonies that added a spiritual touch to our stay. Our host, Made, was absolutely amazing — incredibly dedicated, kind, and professional. He went above and beyond to show us the hidden treasures of East Bali: breathtaking temples, stunning rice terraces, the oldest village on the island, beautiful local beaches, and some of the best authentic restaurants we've ever tried. A truly unforgettable experience — we highly recommend Villa Mayu for anyone looking to discover the more peaceful and authentic side of Bali.

Getting food was not to easy - a small coocking place in the kitchen would be awesome.

I have absolutely nothing to complain about.. it's refreshing that nothing was disappointing at all.

I loved everything! The service, the facilities (extremely comfortable bed & pillows, excellent water pressure & instant hot water, more than enough towels, toiletries), cleanliness and people were all truly amazing and we could not be happier with finding this beautiful place. The staff here really care to make their guests time here as special and comfortable as possible. The location is great and the riverside view is absolutely breathtaking, with the sound of the flowing water making it extra tranquil. We will definitely be back.. thank you so much for an incredible holiday!

It wasn't an issue at all for us, but one thing to improve is the hot water was using a small water heater in the room, needed to heat it first and the volume isn't that much.

The staff is friendly, and renting a scooter directly from the villa makes it easy to explore the surrounding area. That said, Amlapura itself doesn’t offer much in terms of activities or attractions, so you’ll need to travel about 30 minutes by scooter to reach places like Virgin Beach, temples, or other points of interest. There are also few good restaurants nearby, but they’re a bit far, which might be inconvenient for some guests. Overall, Villa Mayu is a decent option for those who want to stay in Amlapura and enjoy a quiet, natural setting. However, don’t expect much in terms of entertainment or convenience, as the area is quite remote and limited in amenities.

Villa Mayu in Amlapura offers a charming and unique experience with 100% wooden rooms, which add to its aesthetic appeal. However, this design makes the rooms quite warm. Although the air conditioning works well, the small size of the rooms means it can feel uncomfortable being close to the unit. On the positive side, the rooms are clean, and the location is peaceful with a river just 10 meters away, creating a relaxing atmosphere.

The cabins are not the best isolated, you can hear the motorcycles from the road. But during the night there aren't many vehicles on the road, so it gets pretty quiet for sleeping.

The place is very nice and clean. The bed is so comfortable, we had very good sleep. The staff is also friendly and helpful, we really enjoyed our stay. There's a river nearby that is calming to hear and see.

Best to have a scooter. Can be rented at the villa. Rural life two small shops only in walking distance. 24 access to a fridge would be a bonus.

Made owner very helpful. Sorted all travel needs. Picked up at the airport and returned me at the end of the stay. Made operation supervisor very kind and help me go to massage on his scooter. He recently recieved some nice trainers and plans to offer guided walks. Kardex the hard worker. Making up my room so well. Creating creatures with the towels. Fun to come into my villa after he had serviced it. Also very joyful person happy to get meals and run me around. The Mayu Villa has a great atmosphere shining through from the care of the plants and grass. The tranquil river sounds, the birds and butterflies. Will return without a second thought.

Villa Mayu is owned by Made Arnata and family. Since this is family owned business, pls expect to receive very intimate services as well. 4 wooden house villa by the river and pool?! YESSS! 5mins to Jasri Beach as well. Room is perfect and breakfast also provided. Made is very flexible and open minded person as well.

My driver mentioned a signage of or directions to the property could be placed at the main road for better visibility.

The team here are professional, warm and hospitable - true to Balinese fashion. My sleep during my stay was deep and restful as the mattress was comfortable and firm, and they thoughtfully provided a conventional pillow and a contoured pillow. I loved laying in the stream at the back of the property in the late afternoon after a day out under the sun. Communication with the team was smooth as they responded promptly. Would love to stay here again in the future :)

It is a new concept. With 4 nice houses at the pool it is wonderful to stay. In front of the houses there is a river for peace. The staff is so friendly. Everything is well arranged and everything is super clean! Oh yes the beds were wonderful, we have never had such beds in Bali before. If we come back to Bali we will definitely go back to this place! Thank you for everything🫶🏻

Brand new cottages with nice pool, all a few steps from the small river. Beds are so comfortable. We were happy to spend the night there on our journey around the Bali.
