How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewComfortable bed and good location.
One of the worst stays I’ve ever I’ve ever had anywhere in the world.. There were animals running around in the walls of the room keeping me up all night but the worst part was the owner. He’s a bad guy. Was physically abusing a small puppy in front of guests and tried to rip me off twice. Made me VERY uncomfortable.
You will give commentary to our inn very bad where there are no reel reel in the field! Since you live in my place there's no puppy you said in comment and like you said I beat up puppies and puppies in July there's nothing you're really a big liar! We strongly believe that karmaphalese don't you play in Bali

The bed wasn’t the comfiest and it creaked a lot! Prepare for bugs/ants s you’re in nature and sleep with the mosquito net

Verified reviewThe traditional bungalow is very cozy and comfortable and has a breathtaking view over the rice terraces! The bed was comfortable, the AC worked well, the breakfast was delicious and the staff was very friendly. I rented a scooter there to explore Sidemen and it was in very good conditioning. I would definitely stay here again.

Verified reviewThe view from the was amazing ... direct view of the rice terraces with Mount Agung in the background .... the place is value for money considering the prices of other places in nearby areas of Sideman The surrounding is peaceful and green , must visit the area to experience the country vibes in Bali Breakfast options are also good ... they have a restaurant as well (which has awesome views btw) but we didn't try their food
The rates for bike rental were to high and not negotiable

Verified reviewI arrived in the night and woke up to the most beautiful view from my wooden cabin! Really 10/10. I stayed 4 nights because I loved it so much. I did the Sidemen trekking through the rice fields every morning, starting point is next to the house. Rent a scooter and just drive around in Sidemen. You will love it! Family was so sweet and welcoming, I recommended it to all of my friends. Tip, go to Nana's pool for lunch and a dip in their pool!

Verified reviewThe space was lovely and comfortable. Bed was great and the view was amazing. I had a table on my porch I could work from, and also plenty of space in the restaurant which was wonderful.
A little outdated furniture and bathroom. There was a strange pipe smell on and off during the day, it was ok, but worth mentioning if you’re smell sensitive. The host were very caring, for me a little too much, asking me about where I am going every time and wanting to take me on excursions. It took as a few days to understand each others differences l, but we got there :)

We went on a hike which was lovely, had a massage that was excellent, amazing food, and took a day tour to see some of the sights which was such a delight. The location is stunning with a view on the rice fields and mount agung. Definitely recommend!

Verified reviewWe spent 3 nights here and it was till now the highlight of our stay un bali. The place is amazing, you're situated literally in the rice fields of Sidemen. Its very calm and the village seems to be 100% authentic. The host family is living right next to the bungalows and gives you the feeling to be part if the family. The bathroom is a lot better than everything we saw till now, its clean, airy and there is even a bathtub. Thanks a lot for the stay We will come back for sure.
There is no touristic infrastructure in the village. We liked that but its important to know.

Verified reviewOur hosts were friendly and the room was really nice. We had a nice experience going through the guided rice fields trekking, would recommend if you want to learn about the lifestyle there.
I paid through booking.com, but the host doesn't accept money from it so we had to pay cash when we arrived. Apparently booking.com takes about 20 days to pay the host, but Airbnb does it much faster
