Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThere are a number of points that disappointed me. The staff came to ask you questions all times, for example about your breakfast (you let them know the night before what you want to eat in the morning). That bothered me sometimes, because it didn't always suit me. In addition, for this type of resort and what you pay for it, I found the poor quality of English of the staff really a thing. Very often you don't understand what they are saying, no matter how hard they try. This is really something for management. They should give their staff training courses and English lessons to raise their level. Finally, the resort is very difficult to find. Not very annoying in itself, but most taxi drivers don't know the resort, because it's a bit away from the shopping street. They therefore often drop you off at the beginning of the street and you can walk back quite a bit on your own. It's not a big deal, but for older people who have difficulty walking, this can be a concern.
Beautiful resort right next to the beach. There are only 6 accommodations on this small resort, but you really lack nothing. The shopping street is about a 5-minute walk away and there you will find everything you need. The ICON shopping center is a fifteen-minute walk away, but in general you can take a GRAB taxi. The resort has a large swimming pool and a large restaurant on an upper floor for which you can see the beach. The breakfast is fine, and a bit on the lean side. The garden is beautifully maintained and plants are always in bloom everywhere, truly a small paradise. Often none of the other guests were present, which made you feel like you had the whole resort to yourself.

EstoniaWe did not score 10 due to the place was a little bit dirty. For example, right after check in we asked the staff to change the sheets and towels, since there were some stains. Also, you can find some dust at some places. But nevertheless, staff was ready to improve as much as possible at first request - which was good.
Very nice place, right next to the beach. Very friendly staff. Big variety of breakfast menu.

United Arab EmiratesEvery afternoon someone would knock on our door to ask what we want for breakfast next day and what time exactly we want it. That was a bit annoying.
This place is really amazing. Our villa was huge with the most spacious bathroom I have ever seen. The grounds are beautiful with a nice pool. The location is right on the beach with direct access to the pedestrian/cycling pathway. They even gave us bicycles to explore the area.

Australiathe small TV to watch a movie, no Netflix
The manicured gardens, swimming pool, beachfront access to the Sanur esplanade, and personalized guest service from staff. Deluxe room was a great space for two with large king size bed, daily housekeeping and lots of wardrobe space, we booked a massage on site and enjoyed the simple inclusive daily breakfast with choice of western or Indonesian dishes

AustraliaPool was like a bath but same with every pool we went in during our stay! Small things like the toilet in the gym/games room never had toilet rolls etc. the gym was just one ancient treadmill the stepping stones around the place were really uneven to the grass so it was easier to walk on the grass! Small things.
Location literally overlooking the beach path. Could watch families on the beach and the yoga from the balcony-amazing. Great restaurants and cafes nearby as well as Koa Shala and Koa Boutique spas. Staff were lovely. Grounds were well maintained consistently. We adored Villa Cinta. It would have been super luxe in its day. Today it’s solid with great aircon and the most wonderful location. Can’t really believe the location value. We went to a new luxury pool villa that also opened onto the beach and preferred Villa Cinta…we then checked into the Intercontinental Sanur and wanted to cancel and go to Villa Cinta however it was Nyepi and impossible for taxis etc.

AustraliaWhile there were umbrellas over the pool lounges, there was no shade over the pool. This meant that by the afternoon it had warmed up to bath temperature, which wasn’t refreshing to swim in. It also meant I was reluctant to swim during the day, due to the risk of sunburn.
The staff were really lovely and caring. The Villa was large and very clean. The bathroom area was enormous and the shower had great pressure. The air conditioner worked really well. There are only 6 villas in the complex, so it was really quiet and peaceful. The beach, with a 5km walkway, was outside the back gate, with lots of restaurants within easy walking distance. The road down to the main shopping and restaurant area was less than 100m away.

AustraliaThis property is located next to a local market and car park with a busy lane way which runs behind 3 of the villa’s so don’t expect any sleep after 5.30am. The other 3 Villa’s are located away from this noise if requested but 2 of them are charged at a higher rate.
Fantastic pool never have to fight for a sun lounge because only 6 Villa’s. rooms a great size, indoor and outdoor shower good AC. Staff are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble - they even let us borrow a stroller for no charge to use for our 3 year old grandson who wouldn’t walk in the heat.

United KingdomThe wifi is a bit weak in the rooms and around the properties and could have been better.
The property feels really exclusive and tucked away, but it is actually right off Sanur Beach! Beautiful space with just a few villas, a nice pool to cool off during a hot afternoon. Location is excellent, we can access the Sanur beach path just by stepping out of the property and then just a short walk to access the high street Danau Tamblingan. Villas are super spacious and comfortable. We even liked there was satellite TV because we are not night birds, we prefer watching some tv before bed. Bathroom boasts a bath, two showers, a comfy bog and two sinks. Everything was sparkling clean and comfortable. The outside areas are impeccable with clean grounds, beautiful tropical plants and many types of wildlife. Beautiful birdsong everyday, little froggies and geckos boosting the biodiversity in this area. Feels really natural.
