Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaJust be aware that, despite the name, the restaurant shut over covid and hadn't reopened, so you need to head out for breakfast, good place just over the road. Walkable to ubud centre but taxi / grab app is best.
Beautiful villa, tucked away and very private, lovely views surrounded by greenery. Loved the pool and great on site massages in a dedicated massage area. Teenage kids loved having their own space downstairs while we chilled in the master bed with balcony upstairs.

AustraliaGorgeous Villa in a really nice location. Nice community pool and a very nice private pool set amongst beautiful gardens. Beds were comfy and the staff came daily to refresh towels and keep things clean. Cold air-conditioning, good fridge and cooktop. Only downside were the mosquitoes, fixed with a few coils and no lounge area but otherwise very pleasant and would recommend.

RomaniaThe property is situated on a very busy road still there is no noise inside as the rooms are located far in the backyard. You can find a little uncofortable to walk from the property to the city center ( about 20 min) as the path has several empty holes, and can be also dangerous during the night because of this. If you take a grab, you will not have this issue.
Very nice and big room with a shared kitchen for two apartaments

United KingdomSometimes very noisy at night from animals (birds & frogs) nothing you can do about this but can be difficult for light sleepers. We booked knowing the kitchen/onsite food was not available but having this come back would be great for guests!
Property was situated in a nice beautiful area with plants and nature. Was very beautiful. Access to water when we needed it. Staff were always around when we needed them for different things. We were provided and extra fan when we asked.

United Arab EmiratesThe WIFI quality is poor. The restaurant was closed so be prepared to go out for food every time.
The location is very good, near shops, ATMs, restaurants and on the main road to every place in Ubud. The staff was helpful and the room was super clean every time.

United KingdomAlthough the kitchenette with the room was a surprise and unexpected, it would have been a bonus if the kitchenette had a microwave to accompany the hob, sink and fridge-freezer. In addition we were somewhat disappointed that the restaurant was not in service as the booking page does suggest we could get breakfast for £2 and there is a restaurant facility on site. This is extremely misleading as this was one of the reasons we booked this accomodation.
The staff and owner were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We liked the suite we stayed in. It was very clean, comfortable and spacious. The laundry service was good and quick. We got 2 bags of laundry washed, ironed and delivered within 24 hours for just under £15.00 We liked the spa service on site. Excellent service here for the Balinese massage that the 4 of us had for 1 hour each, costing in total £28.

New ZealandAlthough there was a Japanese restaurant across the road, it would have been good to have a breakfast option like some of the other places. Other than this, the place was fantastic.
I was doing a month long yoga course and this was recommended as being close enough to walk to the venue. We were also able to walk to the centre of Ubud in about 30 mins. I stayed in an executive suite and had my own courtyard, kitchen and bathroom as well as a large room with a bed and desk etc. There was a nice pool just outside. The staff were very friendly and obliging. The rooms were cleaned each day and the place was kept in good condition. The manager/owner was very friendly and helpful. There is a nice Japanese restaurant across the road and plenty of coffee shops nearby. The supermarket is a 10 minute walk away with an ATM close by. I would choose to stay here again on future visits to Ubud.

New ZealandNegatives are because I was on the top floor = there is a bit of traffic noise and also when it rains you can hear the rain quite loudly too, but both are part of the charm! Note: the restaurant was closed when we visited. There are alternatives nearby however.
This is a solid choice if you are independent and are confident with walking/using scooters/using GoJek/Grab to get around. The place is about 20 min walk north of Ubud centre which at rush hour is faster than a car! The rooms are spacious which is nice and serviced daily which is good. They have all you need for a stay and the local supermarket is 10 min walk away which is also good. The owner is super helpful when something goes wrong.

United KingdomThe traffic in Ubud is intense, but that is not the fault of this place, I think the city of Ubud needs to rework traffic and discover the magic that are roundabouts.
The location has many local small and bigger restaurants within walking distance. We specifically looker for a place with a small kitchen to cook, because our daughter has allergies, and we really need to cook her food especially in Indonesia. That being said, the location has multiple supermarkets within walking distance. Lastly, the host is very friendly, helpful and invested in the place. He helped us with the big water gallons and other things. He is an absolute gem of a host. One more thing, if you like plants and gardens, you will love this place.

United KingdomIt’s not that I didn’t like anything about the property, but it stated it had a restaurant etc…but was never open. I just felt the owner could be more accommodating as he refused our taxi driver to turn around in the yard…making it difficult to reverse on to a main road.
Beautiful property, with stunning views. The room had a great shower system, with ample space.

GermanyI prefer unlimited drinking water supplies when traveling in Indonesia and many properties offer this. But on the other hand, I’m sure Villa Cilinaya would have provided more water if we have asked.
We had a great stay. Nice pool and garden area. Clean room, big comfortable bed. There aren’t many properties with kitchen in Ubud so this is great about this place: kitchen, dining and lounge area at the balcony are really nice. The stuff is friendly and descrete. If there is any subject of complaint, it can be easily communicated with the host and the rest of the Cilinaya stuff.

KazakhstanThe cameras after two weeks make you feel a little strange, even if they are for your own safety, it stops you from being totally relaxed. The Ac in the room with bamboo roof and on sunset side…it’s time for an update. It was the only issue and otherwise a great experience. If you are working in the room, you need to be able to cool down and stay cool inside.
The hotel grounds are absolutely beautiful and the pictures don’t do justice. The garden was created and maintained with such love. The place makes you feel home and happy to return. The pool is gorgeous, you swim with petals falling on your head. Location is really nothing with a bike, 5 mins and your are in central town. Really good Sushi restraunt opposite the hotel. Food and prices at the hotel are also decent, very comfortable to have breakfast brought to your room.
