Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RussiaEverything was great!
Everything was great! - Great location (there are several souvenir shops, a local mini-market and supermarket, also authorized money changer which closes at 11pm on the nearest street); - Nice beach with surf; - Very tasty breakfasts and afternoon snacks; - Small souvenir shop with jewellery on the hotel area; - 3 swimming pools with enough sun loungers; - Beautiful design of the rooms and the entire hotel area; - Very friendly staff This is rare place which we want to visit again!

AustraliaCouldn't fault our stay at Balquisse Heritage.
Breakfast exceeded our expectations. The pool was wonderful. We spent lots of hours reading, relaxing and swimming in the pool. The afternoon tea was excellent. We ate in the restaurant a couple of nights, and the food was terrific. We also enjoyed sitting watching a couple of movies, Ladybird and a film about Balinese culture which while a bit old, we learned a lot from.

Netherlandsin the second room the shower was literally in the middle of the bathroom, so anytime you needed to go to the toilet you need to walk through wet floor. It is one thing something to look cool it is another to be actually functional and comfortable. Not particularly exciting location in the city , you need transportation if you want to see anything. Not related to the hotel but the tours and rental guy next to the hotel is very opportunistic and expensive.
Every detail in place. Focused on antiquities, all carefully chosen/designed. Big property with few pools and yoga house. 10min walk to the beach. Staff is helpful and helped us changing rooms when first day and night we were visited by couple big cockroaches ( I am sure this is just bad luck as there so much vegetation and humidity around). The hotel provides beach bag, towels and even hats that was super nice. Breakfast is abundant. Tip : same owner has (a second) restaurant 2min walking to the hotel that serves very tasty food

ItalyI really dislike the staff grey uniform. I found so sad to reduce Balinese people and their culture to a sort of “ servants” and such a flat uniform ( my husband thought the same ). At the end of the day we didn’t come for the “ hotel “ but to get to know Bali culture and Balinese People.
Lovely hotel with several stars 🌟 food , decoration, afternoon tea, gym , yoga classes every morning, free rides with a vintage car to the beach was the coolest thing we have done on bali.

MacaoThe room is as beautiful as in the images, I had a princess staying and made some princess pictures. The bed is very comfortable with a very soothing smell. Staff are extremely sweet, I felt the chill vibe from the Bali staff here. Inside the resort is very quite and vintage vibe, however, the big supermarket is just 4 minutes walk and tons of restaurants are around. Yoga teacher Tina is very good!

IndonesiaThe hotel design is beautiful, they also have afternoon tea for all guests. A little difficult to find the entrance as the signage's color is faded and same entrance with other hotel. The check in staff not very friendly, while restaurant staff are nice.

South AfricaNothing at all!
We loved everything about this hotel. As it's family owned you get all the charm of a B&B with all the amenities and service of a 5 star hotel. Unlike larger resorts, everything has a personal touch. The grounds are gorgeous and the hotel is beautifully decorated. We toured around Bali and stayed at some really great hotels including quite a high end 5 star resort in Nusa Dua, but this was by far our favourite. Would 100% want to stay here upon every visit to Bali. Tranquil. Peaceful. Gorgeous.

SpainDon’t love the Jimbaran beach as much as uluwatu but that’s ok as only 20 mins away - totally worth it to stay at the Balquisse.
We want to live here permanently! So many amazing spaces, we loved the decor stylish and architecturally fascinating. Yoga was incredible - magical setting in the wooden shuttered, incense infused, bamboo whistling space. The food was incredible! Best lemon tart for afternoon tea - complimentary..!! 3 swimming pools.. Pool table a huge hit with the whole family. The pillows were soooo comfortable, and the double shower with locally produced divine smelling toiletries, and a powerful hairdryer - all made our stay too short. We didn’t want to leave. All the small details add up to the most luxurious and pampered experience.

United Arab EmiratesHonestly, the only downside was having to leave. A part of us genuinely felt sad moving on to another area of the island.
The hotel truly felt like a home away from home. The staff were exceptionally kind, attentive, and accommodating — especially for a regular traveller. The ambiance of the property was serene, charming, and welcoming, with beautiful decor and thoughtful touches throughout. Every moment spent here was peaceful and relaxing.
