How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

There were protests during my visit. Called the hotel early morning to ask on the situation but hotel reception staff said very peaceful (opposite of the current situation). Reached hotel late at night, had to go through small roads to get to the hotel due to many road closure, but was greeted with Smelly rooms, dirty and smelly towels and linens. Strong stench from the toilet, and the room didn’t look like it was cleaned properly. The toilet is so smelly, and very dirty. First and last at this hotel.

Verified reviewI had a wonderful stay at this hotel for 5 days and 4 nights. Everything exceeded my expectations from the warm hospitality of the staff to the comfort and cleanliness of the rooms. The facilities were well-maintained, and the service was consistently attentive and professional. I truly felt welcomed and cared for throughout my stay. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return in the future.

Room is not sound proofing. Noise from every where. I couldn't sleep well or relax during my stay. Lots of noise in the corridor. Bed cover was not cleaned. Maybe used by someone else before, or not cleaned well. Poor coffee shop & facilities. I ordered a cappuccino and they brought me Nescafé with milk😣 I will not book in this hotel again.

Verified reviewThe breakfast menu is better than the five-star hotel I’ve stayed before; it is tastier. The location where I can see street food is just across the road.
The check-in process was frustrating, as I was not able to get the keys before the designated check-in time, and I still had to pay for my stay if I needed to check in earlier... I have never experienced anything like this before. I arrived around 1.30 pm and the check-in time is 2 pm. If I check out earlier, will I get the refund? Additionally, the maintenance of the property was very poor. For instance, the toilet was in bad condition, and the shower was not properly maintained. There were also not enough amenities available, and the charging station was in poor working order. Furthermore, the designated smoking area was closed off from the building, yet I could still smell smoke from those outside. I believe the smoking area should be moved at least four meters away from the building.

Verified reviewHonestly the staff was the only plus side to this stay. They were very friendly and welcoming.
Everything else. The aircon barely worked, we were borderline sweating in the room and were too hot to sleep undercover. The fridge didn’t work and smelt. The wifi was too weak to load a single video. The sheets and pillows had some old small stains on them.

Verified reviewGreat location, kind staff, but serious cleanliness and maintenance issues The hotel has a very good location within walking distance of most major attractions, which is a big plus. The staff were polite and professional throughout my stay, and I have no complaints about their attitude or service. However, I was surprised to find that the hotel requires a cash deposit, and you can’t pay it by card. I explained I didn’t have cash on me at the time and would go to an ATM later. At that point, I was asked whether my passport could be held at reception in the meantime. I must say this is completely unacceptable. A passport is a very important document and should never be left in anyone’s possession, even temporarily. I declined, and to be fair, the staff had no problem letting me bring the deposit later, but the fact that such a question was asked is concerning. As for the hotel itself, it has clearly seen better days. The room needed renovation: visible mold in the shower, a very loud air conditioner, and a musty smell that never quite went away. The bedding looked used supposedly clean, but the white fabric had long since turned gray. On the bright side, there was a fridge in the room, which was useful. My room was located right across from the elevator, which played a short tune every time it arrived at the floor and that woke me up several times during the night. A small detail, but it made a big impact on my sleep quality. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was the breakfast area. The restaurant was dirty and smelled bad dishes and coffee cups weren’t properly washed, and overall hygiene was poor. I found traces of another flavor in my watermelon, suggesting it was cut on the same board as something savory. I skipped breakfast entirely on the second day, even though it was included in my stay. The price was appealing, which is why I booked it, but I wouldn’t stay here again.
