Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MoroccoHir, the host, took very well care of us and organized all the visits including one to a close by waterfalls. His wife cooked delicious local meals. Tetebatu is just amazing with beautiful rice terraces and delicious treats (don't miss the vanilla cocoa coffee). You get to experience the simple rural life in a very clean accommodation with beautiful plants and trees. A big shout to Man, Hir's friend, who helped during our entire stay while keeping a very big smile.

Small cottage with big hearts! Pak Hir is very friendly and genuine. Accommodation is comfortable with big rooms, plenty of charging points. Hot water for shower . They can organise tours around Tetebatu and to Sembalun. They are trustworthy people. We had a day trip to Sembalun and it was a great place to visit.

AustraliaEverything was perfect.
This homestay was incredible, the owner is lovely and made us feel instantly comfortable. We also went on a walking tour with him and his brother (more expensive than we thought but 100% worth it). The room was generously sized, the food was delicious and they had a beautiful resident dog there who won our hearts.

AustraliaWe would have loved to see the rice fields from our room, but we were out of the room most of the day anyway, so it wasn't really an issue.
Basic but clean family room with comfortable beds and a really good shower! The rooms are set in a beautiful garden. Good breakfast. Hir and his family were wonderful hosts. We highly recommend the rice field/waterfalls tour with Hir, as without a guide the paths through the rice fields and village can be confusing initially. He was also great with explaining all the fruits/plants along the way. The location is great, near the monkey forest, close to Telebatu waterfall and near some little shops and other eating options.

GermanyWiFi in the cabin was a bit weak and some animals were running around under the roof in the middle of the night which woke me up a couple of times.
Amazing stay in the Homestay. The host is doing really great tours. I did a tour with him around the rice fields, neighborhood and waterfalls near by (highly recommend to do it with a local guide and not on your own) and he explained us so much. He also organized another tour for me to the local market and a few villages with different hand crafting. The food in the Homestay was really nice and the private cabin was simple but totally ok. I loved the experience of the local life and nature all around. The village is very small and there are no supermarket or anything but a few nice warungs nearby.

GermanyAs we were only two people in a two bedroom apartment, we had enough space for everything. Nonetheless, our room (2 bedrooms + bath) are quite small if you come in a group of four people, as there will be almost no space for your luggage. Also, fyi, it is entrance door → bedroom 1 → bedroom 2 → bathroom, therefore the second two people might be interrupted in their privacy. Nothing bad but something to be aware of: getting to the cottage from the street is very steep and too narrow for a car. It is doable by scooter.
It is a lovely remote place with a small but beautiful garden with a lot of plants, flowers, fruits and animals. I especially enjoyed reading in their hammock. The host (Hir) and his family are very friendly people. We were offered several options on what to do and he would guide us. We also had a 'cooking class' and helped them to prepare local food for our dinner. We were only charged the price of the food as listed in the menu and for the cooking classes we should give them what we felt like paying.

We loved everything! Hir and his family are so welcoming. Hir took us on a wonderful tour, showing us the local area and foraging for edible fruit and plants. The food was AMAZING - we loved the curry, gado gado and olah olah. It’s quiet, peaceful and located 500m from the monkey forest and right next to a waterfall. The room was simple but had everything we needed. The garden is full of beautiful plants including those edible fruits and spices. There’s free tea and coffee all day
