How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

There is not much to do in the area but the staff organizes activities
Great if u are staying a couple nights! The hostel in itself is super nice.

Amazing team working at Lala Salama, they make you feel part of the family even if you stay for one night! A really welcoming vibe that is perfect for everyone. I stayed one night and then returned at the end of my trip because everything was so great! Really wonderful and clean, comfy beds and a great nights sleep! Thank you so much especially to Abdul (most delicious pancakes!), Melly and Alek ❤️

It would be nice to have a little hot water for showers.
Overall we had a great time, the staff were all great, the food was fantastic especially the cakes.

AC in the room could be a bit warmer
A great place to stay as a solo traveler. It’s in a quiet area just 15min drive away from town. Clean, cosy, nice little pool to cool off at, nice food with very big portions (which is made with love by the lovely chef lady herself) and close to the best sunset spots. The Staff is the best and Abdul is the little house spirit who will make sure that everyone is having a good time. The best place to meet new friends and create great memories.

I had a really great experience at Lala Salama! Abdiel was really friendly and took a few of us on a small walking tour of a local village. He made the best banana pancakes for breakfast and always had a smile on his face. Communication with Dede was super easy before my stay. And he was great during the stay just making sure everything was okay. The food options were great as well as choice of drinks at the bar. The location is so convenient for getting off the boat at Lombok. It was a really great, social stay. Highly recommend!

Not a lot of things to do around but if you have a scooter it’s not a problem
The staff is very helpful and always smiling. It was the best breakfast I’ve had of all of my accomodations in Indonesia :)

Toilets and showers could maybe do with a scrub, the drains are a bit smelly but I suppose this can’t be helped. I couldn’t use the swimming pool as it needed to be clean, I appreciate it was low season and probably not being used much.
The team at Lala Salama are truly incredible and cannot do enough for you, due to visiting in the low season I pretty much had the place to myself, I was a little worried at first as I like the social aspect of hostels but the guys did everything they could to make my stay special and I cannot thank them enough. The rooms are spacious, they have an amazing bar / restaurant area and plenty of other spaces to chill outside the room. Really close to a lovely beach.

The scooter rental was pricey here and you need one of you want to explore
Nice hostel, comfy beds with curtains. I just needed to chill after doing Rinjani so it was a good place for that as you had everything you needed at the hostel. The breakfast and pizzas were really good!

Thad a scooter accident during my stay and couldn't move my left arm. The hotel staff was incredibly attentive— they took care of me with so much kindness, making sure I had everything l needed. Traveling alone can sometimes be challenging, but here, I felt supported and cared for as if I were with family. I wholeheartedly recommend this place, especially to solo backpackers. If you're looking for a place where caring people will look after you, this is the one. A huge thank you to the entire hotel team for your humanity and generosity.

Stayed here for 2 nights before my Lombok - Flores boat trip and loved it here. The chill space and pool is very nice. The beds and the bathrooms were clean. The staff were super helpful and nice as well.

There was nothing I didn’t like
The entire vibe of the hostel was just perfect. From the amazing staff, to the delicious food, to the awesome visitors & the lovely cat! The authenticity of the people here really made my first time in Lombok amazing!! I look forward to coming back

Lovely hostel in a quiet village in Lombok with great connections to the Gili’s, great for solo travellers as the hostel host Abdul is always getting people together and offering to show the local village! Incredible free breakfast everyday, banana pancakes made with love! And convenient hostel restaurant with very friendly cooks with fantastic western and Indonesian food, especially the black pepper tofu/tempe!! Thank you so much

It's quiet far from everything but they offer scooters
Little paradise in the north west of Lombok! I wish I could have stayed longer but unfortunately they could not organize or help me to get an early morning taxi to the Airport.!

Lala Salama Backpackers quickly feels like home, thanks to the amazing hospitality of Ulli, Anton, Terrie, Abdul, and the rest of the team. They make sure your stay is exceptional from start to finish. The food is delicious, and the juices and cocktails are perfect for relaxing by the pool. The rooms are comfy, with plenty of space to unwind on the terrace. Plus, the beach is just a few minutes' walk away. They also offer scooter rentals and help organizing trips, whether it's hiking Mount Rinjani or exploring local villages, scuba diving, and more. Highly recommended for anyone seeking comfort, adventure, and great hospitality.

The staff is amazing. We went there two times because we had such an amazing time!!! The pancakes in the morning from abdul were crayzeeeeee !!! The facilitys are great and the food overall is amazing :)

Everything was good
The staff were very friendly and the food is tasty , also nice pool and beautiful terrace with a beautiful view , the beach was very closed 5 minutes by walk I really enjoyed the sunset in the beach I'll be back for sure
