I would have preferred more emphasis on the functional basics over the decorative flourishes. For example, I didn’t need the fancy furniture and elaborate bed netting as much as I would have appreciated a toilet that didn’t run constantly (without me turning the water off between uses), a ceiling fan, decent lighting in the room, on time breakfast service, wifi that worked in the room, and a door/lock that weren’t a bit of a struggle to use.

Can’t beat the convenience for its proximity to Purple Dive and a handful of restaurants and small convenience stores. The property is beautiful and very well tended, the staff is very kind, and the pool is a luxury. They don’t have a water refill station for guests but will refill your bottle in the kitchen if you ask.

The road up to Unicorn bungalows was very steep and I had to meet my driver at the bottom although I noticed other cars seemed to make it up. Better going down but tiring going up especially on hot days.

There was a choice of breakfast daily and I tried most of them. Basic breakfast.

Nothing. But be prepared that the hotel only serves food at breakfast, so it’s a little walk to nearby cafes for lunch and dinner.

Slight damp smell in the bathroom and not very good water pressure (but that is just island life)!

We really enjoyed our stay at Unicorn Bungalow. It was a very quiet and relaxing spot for returning after diving. The staff were very friendly and arranged an early breakfast for us every day before we went diving. The bed was comfortable and they asked each day if we wanted our room cleaned with fresh towels. The view of the ocean from the communal area was beautiful.

Unicorn Bungalow's were great value for money. Comfortable room, nice pool, friendly staff, decent breakfast, close to good coffee and restaurants, excellent price.

Bathroom was pretty disappointing considering the price, not as nice as the photos. The breakfast was not good but there are cafes nearby with great food. Large construction site right next door, noise in the room until as they work until 11pm some nights. Steep driveway with lots of potholes not suitable for beginners on a scooter. Compared to other places in indonesia and bali, the price is quite expensive and does not reflect the value.

We were there during construction at the facility next door. The noise was during the day and extended into the evening. We checked out a day early due to the construction noise. We would have liked to be reimbursed for the night we didn't stay.

Pool area and breakfast area were nice. Our room was nice. The A/C in the room we checked into did not work and we were moved to another room which was appreciated.

In the last bungalow where I stayed, one of the body soap containers was broken. It would be great to have a small fridge in the room so you can keep a few bottles of water cold. The light was too dark in the bungalow on my taste but my son liked it. We had some early dives at 7:30 and wanted to have breakfast before, but normal breakfast time was 7am. All that we needed was 10-15 minutes early. The staff was very accommodating and helped us doing it very quickly so we ended up having it 6:50am. The foot path to all bungalows has pebbles - so you woudn't be able to ride your suit cases if they have wheels and it might be a little difficult to walk on pebbles as we didn't used to it.

Very small and cosy accommodation, not so many people were there when we stayed, it was calm and relaxing. The location was very close to our diver center (Purple Divers) so it was very easy to go there and back. As we were there for diving, other items didn't interest us. However there is a good pool in the property and a few places to chill down around it using sun loungers. Overall it was clean and tidy. Stuff was very polite and accommodating to all our requests. The restaurant has the ocean view so you can enjoy it during your meal. We needed to leave later than regular check out time, so we asked to leave our luggage at the reception until 3pm and that was very useful. Overall - it is very good value for money, especially if you are up to diving in the nearby areas.

Breaky could definitely be skipped, and the bathrooms were very stinky without hot water. From research pre-booking, the whole island struggles with hot water.

The location was great for Nusa Penida, walkable to massage, cafe, beach, beach bar/restaurants. Staff were super friendly and helpful, and the view from the breakfast spot and pool was beautiful - particularly for sunrise/sunset.

Room 2 noisy pump next to room runs all day/night cutting in loudly no sleep. I got new room next day. VERY long steep driveway up. Need to be confident scooter driver to tackle it.

Lovely hotel. Mosquito nets around big beds felt safe from Mosquitos n Dengue.

Very slow service. First morning was a 40 minute wait for breakfast. Breakfast wasnt great and a half slice of streaky bacon was on the plate. I had ordered a bike the previous day which was agreed price for 80k and collection at 8.30. The bike arrived after 9 and the price increased to 100k. The night before I left, they reached out asking if I wanted a taxi arranged for my departure, I confirmed and they acknowledge my request. When at check out, I enquired where my taxi was and they had no record of it. Thankfully there was an alternative solution as a man offered to bring me on his scooter. Not the safest as I had all my luggage with me.

Not 4 star. 3 star. Pool went green & needs cleaning. Breakfast was average. Toast & eggs w black coffee or juice or water. No milk for coffee. No fruit. Driveway is steep & hectic. In the middle of 2 major areas w restaurants. Need a scooter to get anywhere.

Broken step to room, if you had any mobility problems you wouldn't be able to get in. Bedding ripped. Lighting really poor Just to note is a really steep walk up to the residence.

The property said they had a restaurant and it wasn’t the case, only breakfast was offered and it wasn’t edible. Food is supposed to be edible. The staff wasn’t amazing to be honest, their English was suboptimal and to any question the answer would always be “yes”, even questions starting with “where can I find…?”, in addition they were not as cordial as in main Bali The bathroom had a terrible smell and the shower nearby the toilet wasn’t an intuitive choice to be fair
