Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceNothing ! All was perfect
A wonderful unique experience ! Set in the middle of ricefields with nothing around except for a few tiny local houses, this refined artistically decorated homestay provides all comfort including delicious Indonesian meals cooked by the family whose kindness has no limits. The place is ideal to rest, do yoga, dance and of course appreciate the amazing sunrise whose colours and reflections are mirrored in the rice pools. We will definitely come back again to stay longer.

NetherlandsNothing, it’s perfect!
It’s the most beautiful place I ever stayed I think! The surrounding is indescribably beautiful. In the middle of ricefields. In the evening you hear the frogs and see the fireflies. The house is beautiful and clean. You don’t miss the airconditioning, because of the cool weather (I even used the blankets). The owners are so friendly and the food is delicious. I'm so sorry we only booked one night. I would have loved to stay here for a week. I'll definitely be back for a longer stay! I’m possible I would give 10 stars!

CanadaI have ZERO negativity
I would give 20 stars if I could. Forget Disney land, this is the most magical place on earth. I almost don't want people to know about it!! The family is incredible with the best home cooked meals in Bali. It was the most comfortable bed I've slept in so far with the softest pillows ( most places have hard pillows). It is in the middle of the rice terraces with the most incredible views of the volcano and fields. I had the newest and most beautiful cabin. The details are out of a magazine. After a week of adventure it was the most peace I have felt in bali. If you like solitude and nature. This is the place. This is the REAL Bali

AustriaBeautiful located homestay within the paddyfields. The hosts Gede and his wife are lovely people, preparing delicious dinner and offering tours in the area around (Jatiluwih rice terracees, Batukaru Temple, Luwak Coffee farm, Cocoa farm, giant Banyan Tree, Hot Springs,…) You stay at a secluded, remote place in the middle of nature off the beaten tracks! Very simple but very charming bungalows! The narrow access road is a bit challenging and for experienced drivers only!

GermanyWe are a family from Germany and went on a three-week backpacker trip to Bali and Lombok. This accommodation was really the best we had at the time. The huts are new and beautifully designed. The location in the middle of the rice fields is simply fantastic. You can hear rushing streams, a truly magical place and still an "insider tip". The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. The super delicious food (breakfast and dinner) was brought to us on the terrace with a perfect view of the rice fields. Thank you for the unforgettable time with you!

United KingdomNothing! Owner, Gede, & his wife were super accommodating & every detail is thought of in advance!
The property is a beautiful wooden cottage that is a true labour of love from the owners, they have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable! The location is stunning & provides an insight into everyday life. I highly recommend the hiking trip as you’ll learn so much about rice farming, everything that is grown in Bali (fruit, veg, herbs etc) & see some wildlife! We also had a lovely message from one of the local villagers!

AustraliaMy stay at D'ume Bentldoel has been absolutely stellar. The bungalow is magical, and the view is simply breathtaking. Dee and his family are truly lovely. I really enjoyed our chats, his travel tips and recommendations, and his genuine kindness. The food was great, and the location is perfect for exploring Jatiluwih and many other incredible surrounding areas. This is definitely one of my favorite places in Bali, and probably one of my favorite stays ever! Good luck, Dee. I feel so grateful for our time together and the beautiful experience I had while being hosted by you and your family.

United KingdomWe could see a rat in the bathroom just before going to bed as the bathroom isn't completely sealed on the roof. There was a wedding nearby and the music was terribly loud, honestly the loudest I've ever experienced. It lasted until the middle of the night. We would have appreciated communication about this as the owner told us the day after they knew about it, even don't rent the place as we only booked a day before.
The location is amazing, you feel very relaxed and you can have dîner/breakfast by your little bungalow. It's super peaceful and you can walk in the rice paddies nearby, which is complementary to Jatiluwih. The bungalow is very pretty. The food was tasty.

IndonesiaIt was not very clean that the two bedroom house prices was for one bedroom, and not for two, as I read the title two bedroom house and assumed we would have two bedrooms, and not one, maybe this can be a bit more clear.

GermanyThe dinner was 65K, which is relatively expensive compared to Ubud Warungs. However you have to mention it included a soup, meat, vegetables, rice, fried corn and fruit, so it was more like a menue.
Wonderful quiet and stunningly beautiful location within the rice fields. The bungalow is very beautifully furnished and surrounded by big exotic plants. The bathroom was very clean as well as the bed and a water boiler, tea, coffee and free drinking water was supplied. Dinner and breakfast are served on your terrace with a beautiful view. Very kind people (Gede, Putu, Wayan and the ladies from the restaurant). We took a jungle tour to the temple close in the woods withWayan and our driver Putu explained us so much about Balinese life in his village. Wonderful place and experience we would definitely come back!
