Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United States3 of our rooms on the bottom floor were dissatisfied. The bed curtains were smelly, dirty and had holes. The staff and our breakfast were excellent

MalaysiaThe only minor issues were that our hair dryer didn’t work and the door didn’t fully lock, but since Bali is very safe and we could borrow a dryer from our friends’ room, it wasn’t a problem.
The hotel met all our expectations. We were warmly welcomed with refreshing juice upon arrival. The pool was great, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and the shower had hot water. Everything was just as we wanted.

AustraliaRoom could do with abit of a Reno as it is a little outdated. our tv and safe weren’t available for use which isn’t a big deal. The room had a bit of mould.
Very close to the main strip, staff were amazing and would help out whenever you needed. Room was comfortable enough to get you through a couple days. The food was good. Our flight was delayed and so we didn’t get in till 3am but the staff were lovely enough to wait for us. Really appreciate it. It’s a great place for someone who just needs a place to rest and shower and store luggage not someone whos looking to stay at the hotel all day.

United StatesWhat we liked the most was the staff. The woman who welcomed us was incredibly kind and helped us with everything we needed. We hired her husband to drive us around, and he was also extremely respectful and pleasant. We felt very safe, even though we were two women traveling alone.

AustraliaIt was difficult to spot the sign at the front. Communication was a bit hit and miss but not a big negative. Reception was not often staffed and it was sometimes difficult to find someone to talk to at the property when needed. The doors to the room were a little tricky to open/close - just need a little maintenance - and although we had a kitchen, it needed a fair bit of TLC. Some crockery provided in the kitchen would have been useful too. If you have mobility issues, this place is not for you - you have to climb a few stairs or walk up the steep ramp to access the property from the street and then negotiate a couple of steps to get to the rooms.
The whole place is lovely. The gardens and pool area are well cared for and gorgeous. The room was huge and unexpectedly included a small kitchen/dining area. Although located in the bathroom, we liked that the toilet had a separate door. Breakfast was nice. Not a huge choice, but enough. Staff were always friendly and helpful. Located about a 10 minute walk from one of the main streets, it is close enough to enjoy the experience of Ubud centre, but far enough away to be very peaceful. It's cheap, it's cheerful and I would definitely recommend this place to others.

United StatesLike the cozy and the setting inside the room.
The room was fine, but the bedroom furniture is a bit old and didn't meet mu expectation. The other room has better furnish then the one we stayed at. The towels look old as well. We see ants crawling on the floor.

PhilippinesThe bathroom could use more work: the shower area needs some deep cleaning, and the water feature wasn't working. The hot water also relies on gas, which run out during our stay but was quickly replenished by staff. The location was also quite far from the main commercial area of Ubud, but it could be perfect for those looking for a quieter place away from the crowds.
The room was clean and spacious, plus we had small kitchen and dining area for ourselves. It was nice to have a couch, chairs, and table to lounge about at the end of the day. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

AustraliaUmah San is located in the centre of Ubud, so you could walk to most places or get a scooter and drive there within 5 minutes. The pool was beautiful and very clean. The mini fridge, in the room, that is stocked with water, soft drinks and beer is also lovely to have after a long day of exploring! The hosts were very friendly and lovely people! The banana pancakes for breakfast was great.

CanadaI enjoyed this serene oasis tucked into the back of the property. I loved waking up to the sounds and sights of nature, the smell of incense and the sound of locals giving their blessing. The garden view was lovely regardless of whether it was sunny or rainy. I loved chasing the butterflies that were feeding on the flowers and watching the birds drink from the pool. The staff was lovely. I wasn't a big fan of the bathroom or the closet (I kept my things in my suitcase), it was dark-ish, dusty and not as clean to my standard, but hey! Although the water was cold (I can see why, Ubud was hot and humid in late Feb/early March). Nevertheless, I enjoyed the property, it was peaceful and I needed a peacefully beautiful place to stay. Check it out if you're looking for an affordable place to stay in Ubud.

AustraliaSuch lovely staff and team, real family feel to the property. So friendly every morning! It was clean and homey, omelette for breakfast was good. It’s about a 15 min walk from the centre of town, so recommend having Grab downloaded to get a ride where you can especially at night if you’re not up for a walk. Note the property is semi segmented with different rooms and pools, but they’re right near each other! Thanks so much!

PhilippinesI'm kinda scared of geckos, so that was the only thing I didn't really like. We had one in our room on the second night, but the staff was super helpful and got rid of it right away. We didn't see any more after that, thankfully. The main door was a little tricky to close too, since it's kind of old, but that was no big deal. But if geckos don't bother you, then this place is totally fine.
I really love the staff—they're so friendly and helpful. They even helped my husband set up a surprise in our room! The place is super chill; you can hear the birds chirping and the pool splashing. It's in a great spot too, super close to the center. The room was a little dated, but clean. The food is okay too, though maybe a tad salty (probably because Indonesian food tends to be like that). Overall, it's a great place.

TurkeySince it was off-season, renovation work was being done in the other rooms, which continued until late at night. Additionally, because the bathroom was open, I encountered a few lizards and cockroaches inside.
he location was great, and the staff were attentive. The place was cleaned daily, and the bed was spacious and comfortable. The room was just like the photos—spacious and bright.

AustraliaOur room door needed maintenance. Was difficult to operate. The shower head was too low but really was not a big deal. Other Villas are closer to the action but this didn't really bother us as our family liked the quiet and it was a short walk.
Relaxed and friendly environment. Beautiful setting. Comfortable rooms. Lovely pool. Quiet location. Short walk to town. Good breakfast. Staff were great. Always helpful and friendly. Great restaurants close by.

United KingdomThe price bit to high for time of year but can’t complain as I would have stayed longer but they didn’t offer any discount so I found something that was equivalent for a quarter of the price
It was quite lot of building work going on but in final stages so pretty quiet to be honest, the property had everything you need and was kept very clean
