Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

BelgiumKadek, Ketut and their family took our stay in Munduk to another level. We got amazing breakfast (the best fried rice I've had in Indonesia so far), spacious and clean rooms and a very good bed. Kadek give us a tour in the rice fields at sunset and took us to his family home. It was amazing and eye-opening to listen to his stories. When we got back in the homestay, Ketut was always there for us with a big smile. Thank you so much for everything, I cannot recommend your place enough!

This was an amazing Homestay thanks to the generosity and kindness of our hosts Kedak and Ketut . This felt like authentic Bali . They welcomed us into their home - the three rooms we had were all clean and well equipped and unlike most places we couldn’t hear barking dogs just the sound of the jungle . The breakfasts made by Ketut were lovely. The evening karaoke with Kedak was memorable and definitely Super Trouper. The surrounding area is stunning and our hosts on day one took us on a rice field walk and then to a local warung where we met a lovely family and their gorgeous little daughter. On the second day Ketut and a guide took us on a four waterfall hike through the jungle and then we watched sunset at a local warung. The hosts couldn’t have been kinder or more attentive to our needs. Thank you to you and all your family for a memorable stay

The accommodation was very nice, comfortable and clean. Our hosts made everything to help us have the best stay there: support to organize our journey to see the best spots, arrange good food and massage... the nature around is beautiful and we saw the most beautiful sunset on the rice fields.. We really loved our stay and highly recommend it.

SpainWe’ve had a wonderful 3 days thanks to Ketut and Kadek. We got to know more about the beautiful Balinese culture and its kindness. Their rooms are very comfortable, the garden is charming, and the surroundings are beautifully green. It’s close to waterfalls, hiking trails, and the village—but far enough to enjoy peace and quiet. Oh! And the best shower I’ve had in a long time: hot and with great water pressure, which I deeply appreciated after a long trip. Thank you, Ketut and Kadek, for your hospitality. Always grateful. 🙏🏼

ItalyWe stayed two nights in Umah Yugadi but we could have easily spent a week if not more. The area is amazing - very relaxing and with plenty of nature to enjoy. Ketut and Kadek made our stay even more special: their home stay is cosy, clean and immersed in greenery and they are two of the kindest people we met in Bali. They are always looking out for you and they want to make sure you have the best experience possible in Munduk. They even drove us to the jungle tour and made sure we found our scooter on the other side of the lake. On top of everything, breakfast is also amazing! This is a place we recommend staying at and one we would definitely return to if we are ever in Bali.

FranceThe homestay is not in the center of Munduk - it is located up the hill so the bedrooms look out into the forest which is wonderful. We didn’t have a car - but the waterfalls were in easy walking distance for those who like to hike! And taxis can be found on the internet/in town to arrange local trips to the nearby lakes. Breakfast was copious and freshly made. Bedrooms very clean. The staff were so very helpful and friendly - we arrived late in the evening and they allowed us to pre-order dinner from their simple but delicious menu. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

What a delightful little homestay! Kadek & Ketut were such warm & hospitable hosts. We loved our stay in the village within easy distance to the waterfalls & Munduk town. Kadek was gracious enough to show us the village temple which the villagers, along with Kadeks guidance, are restoring with great care & enthusiasm. A magical visit!

GermanyQuiet and peaceful location near Munduk - perfect if you want to explore the waterfalls. Staff is incredibly nice and treats you like family. Rooms are clean and full of little detail amenities to make your stay worthwhile - they definitely go the extra mile here. The surrounding nature is beautiful and makes this location perfect for a getaway from the busy streets of Denpasar.

It is the best service we had from all of our accommodations during our trip to Bali. It is a bit further from the closest town but they do everything to ensure their guests are having a great time from giving recommendations ahead of the stay on the possible hikes to helping customers with organising their tourism onsite. They really understand what excellent service means and go above and beyond. To put it in context there’s no “big cities” around Munduk as it is a nature destination and Kadek and Ketut make all they can to help. My tips would be that for Munduk you need a scooter or a driver or be a serial trekker 😅

SingaporeIt's not close to town so you'll need own transport to get around. There are also no Warung within walking distance but theres a Queen's Pizza nearby to eat there or order in.
I had the most amazing stay here for 3 nights. The couple Kadek and Katut who owns the home stay had treated me almost like family during my stay. They offered home cooked food on some days and even helped me ordered pizza / salad as I was too tired to go out for dinner one night. As for the room, the bed was comfortable and room was spacious and clean. TV, wifi and hot water are all working well although there was no air conditioning. There's no need for air conditioning as the room was cool all day / night with fresh mountain air. I suggested to them to offer more variety for breakfast instead of just nasi goreng or mee goreng (although it was delicious) such as toast, sandwiches etc and they were very receptive to my feedback.

What a place. ❤️ Peaceful, with no tourist crowds, surrounded by pristine nature, just a short drive away from several waterfalls. Coupled with fresh mountain air and fields of juicy strawberries - my idea of paradise. So much so, I ended up staying two whole weeks!! The property is new. So everything is in perfect order and super comfortable. With floor-to-ceiling windows, you have treetop views right from your bed, and when you relax on the balcony, you are looking at a beautifully manicured garden. There is also a great rooftop terrace, a shared kitchen at your disposal, and a fire pit for cozy evenings in the company of other travelers and the lovely hosts. But what I loved the most was the heartfelt atmosphere. Kadek and his cousin Ketut go above and beyond. And when I say that, I really mean it!! To save me the headache of looking for transportation late at night, Kadek picked me up at the airport, with a fare much lower than the official rates. Mentioning upon booking how long it had been since I had strawberries, a large platter was awaiting me upon check-in. As a creative, I planned to spend some time editing my film while there. I have some issues with my back, so posture matters. Barely mentioned, Kadek set up a super comfy 'creative office' on my porch. And since I didn't dare to go on a motorbike, he personally drove me wherever I needed by car. When the food delivery service I kept ordering from unexpectedly closed early one day, Ketut returned from home to cook for me a dinner. And when noticing that I set up a little 'altar' with candles for those dreamy evenings; she spontaneously added incense and frangipani flowers, bringing fresh ones every single day. Impossible not to fall in love with this wonderful place. Sure to come back. Many times❤️!!!

United StatesThe location was in the best part of bali. Beautiful nature, I little bit cooler I enjoyed the weather. The hosts are amazing they gave me recommendations immediately about good local places to eat, and I was paying local prices. I did not have a motorbike (I recommend you do if you go) however they helped me get everywhere and even helped me book a local taxi back to canguu cheaper than grab. Best stay in Bali because of the hosts!!! Seriously got an insight into local life and got to see the best stuff they even had more recommendations I could.have stayed 4 more days and still had amazing stuff to see

Umah Yugadi is without a doubt the friendliest place we have ever stayed! Kadek, Andre, Ketut and the rest of the family go above and beyond to make your stay special and memorable. They welcome you into their family, taking you on days out, inviting you to family meals, and really make an effort to get to know you as a friend rather than just a guest. We extended our stay for 2 more nights because this place really felt like home - it was hard to say goodbye! The room was very clean and the bed was soooo comfortable - the most comfortable bed we have had so far on our trip. The family are extremely kind, caring and generous and will always hold a special place in our heart. We already cannot wait to go and visit our family at Umah Yugadi again. If you want to indulge in the Balinese culture and be surrounded by beautiful nature and beautiful people then this is the place for you !!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

NetherlandsThe place is really neat, clean and brand new. But the best part is that Kadek and his family made our stay absolutely pleasant and let us feel like to be part of the family. We arrived late and still needed to eat dinner, he provided food for us. Upfront the visit he sent us options for activities to do in the surroundings, which were great for us as a backpacker to easily choose a nice activity without doing a lot of research. We received a Balinese breakfast which was the greatest Indonesian breakfast we had our whole vacation. Also some fruit was included which makes us full until late afternoon. Even when we found big spiders in the middle of the night, he said we should let him know, because he found it important that we could sleep at night, even when it would mean that his sleep would be interupted. And in the morning when we told kadek he took care to wipe our whole apartment free of spiders, so we both slept really good the night after. That is a host that makes an extra step for the customers, that you don't see anywhere.

A large, new, spotlessly clean, very comfortable room and bed in a small secluded gem facing huge clove trees. There are 3 rooms next to each other each with their own private access and privacy thanks to wooden screens separating each terrace facing a small garden one level down. Stools and small coffee table on each terrace. Service is 5*. Kettle with complimentary coffee and tea bags, fresh oranges, water. The bathroom is spacious and boasts a wardrobe and shelves for clothes, which is not that common in Bali for that type of budget. More rails and hooks are available for towels, as well as as more space for soap bags on shelves below the bathroom sink. Complimentary hankies and toiletries are also available. There is another shelf and plug below the tv screen. There's a lovely wooden shelf fitted into the wall by the bed to make coffee or use your laptop or write your journal. A second shelf is available nearby. Gatot and his wife couldn't do enough to make me feel at home and spoiled me so much ! They are a dynamic, happy couple who loves to communicate and learn, and invest themselves 100% in their new business and village community. Anything you need is there or will be! Just ask Gatot if it is possible, and the chances are, he or his wofe will already have thought about your potential enquiry and sorted it out before you even had a chance to ask! I'm speechless. I don't know how to say thank you for making my stay at Uma Yugadi so special and memorable. The minute I mentioned I was keen on Gamelan, Gatot very kindly took me to the local Gamelan school where I thoroughly enjoyed several rehearsals during the following evenings. This area is extremely quiet compared to toursit hubs like Ubud and the South of Bali. It's a 10 min ride to Munduk. A scooter is obviously necessary. If you are into nature and gigantic waterfalls and coffee trees and clove trees, peace and quiet, authentic rural life, this is the place for you!

NetherlandsThis homestay combines the luxury of a ⭐️⭐️⭐️ hotel with the feeling of being at home. The place is brand new and the owner knows really well what he’s doing. 🛏️ The rooms are well designed and equiped. Super comfy bed, good shower. Smart tv to watch some movies if you like. We’ve been here 3 nights and had a good and comfortable time. 📍Location is at a reasonably quiet spot just a 10 minute ride away from the busy streets of Munduk. Nothing much to do in the direct neighborhood but excellent place to have a good night rest after a long hike. 🍛 The breakfast is homemade Balinese and among the best food we’ve had in the whole of indonesia! The breakfast was even better than some of the dining we did outdoors. For lunch/dining there are loads of restaurants in Munduk to choose from. Enjoy Cafe has some amazing pisang goreng and Warung Genitri a few meters further up the road has some excellent dishes too. Both have stunning view. 🌳 There is so much to see in the neigbourhood and the host took incredible care of all arrangements and transportation. We did one day of hiking the trail with coffee plants & four waterfalls one trip to see some rice fields and one day of jungle trekking around the lake and we visited some local temples. All were amazing experiences 🤩 🙏🏻 The host is incredible. He’s kind and passionate and definitely went the extra mile to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Thanks again!

We really liked our host who went to so much effort to ensure that we were happy. He was generous and kind in his manner. The room was new, modern and tastefully furnished.
