Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Everything was fine. The pool is nice and one plus point was that we saw some monkeys directly in front of the entry.

FranceThe only downside is the access road leading to the hotel from the main road – it’s quite dark at night with no lighting, which can feel a bit unsafe, especially if you're walking or arriving late, as there may be animals along the path. Additionally, the reception staff is not available after 8 PM, which can be a bit unsettling knowing that there’s no one on-site in case of an issue during the night. Also, be aware that there is no access card or gate code to enter the property only a key to the room is provided, which may feel a little insecure after dark even if Bali is known to be safe. Installing more lighting along the path, in the garden, and at the entrance would definitely improve the experience and sense of safety.
I had a pleasant stay overall! The location is amazing – just a short scooter ride from Suwat Waterfall, Ubud Market, the Tegalalang rice fields, and other main attractions in the area. It’s the perfect base to explore Ubud and its surroundings. I also recommend visiting the hotel located just 5 minutes away on foot for pool access : The Kayon Valley Resort. Their infinity pool overlooking the jungle is absolutely stunning!

ItalyTasty breakfast but only one option for each person (not unlimited). The curtains do not block the sun at all, so at 5am the room is already light. This along with the many singing roosters (from about 2 am onwards) and sometimes dogs makes it difficult to sleep well. The cleaning could be a bit better (the floor has some stains) and there is only one big towel each (no face towel). All in all I would still recommend
Very beautiful location, friendly staff, lots of optional services organized by them (the in-room massage is amazing), comfortable bed, nice pool, quiet area even if near a main road

IndiaNeat and clean rooms. Loved the rice field and the pool right in front of the cottage. Very friendly and helpful staff. They accommodated our early check-in request at 1 am, without any hassles. They provided scooters too for hire. Over all it was a great stay. Highly recommended.

SwitzerlandThere is no safe in the cottage, which may be inconvenient for storing valuables. Additionally, the windows can not be fully covered, so it gets quite bright as soon as the sun rises.
The people there are very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The cottage is spacious and nicely furnished. The swimming pool is also very pleasant. For breakfast, you can choose from several options. There is also the possibility to rent a motorbike at a good price. With the motorbike, you can easily reach the center of Ubud in just a few minutes, where you will find plenty of restaurant options.

AustraliaThe beds & pillows were a bit too hard. The geckos and frogs were loud at night. There was a refreshing flow of water that runs behind the accommodation used to irrigate the rice. The first night we thought it was rain, you get used to the noises.
Breakfast simple but tasty. Banana pancakes were our favourite. The location offers a calm relaxing vibe and lovely view. Pool was refreshing, a nice depth and temperature. One morning our children experienced a large monkey family that came to feast on the offerings. A good 20+ min walk into the heart of Ubud. Nagi restaurant 5 min walk away offered very tasty food specialising in Japanese, good prices.

GermanyThings I was missing: - although the roof is very high, a mosquito net for the bed would be great anyway - large mirror (there’s only one mirror in the bathroom and it’s placed very high, so for small people you basically only see your head)
To be honest this might not be for everyone, but I really enjoyed my stay there! It’s in nature with small rice fields directly in front of your room, so there will be some animals around… I had a few ants on the floor (not disturbing though) and geckos in the roof. Outside you can find frogs, birds, lizards and sometimes even monkeys. I never saw snakes or spiders! At night you hear the sounds of frogs, crickets, geckos, etc and in the morning some roosters, but you‘ll get used to that. You also hear the river all the time, which I found to be a pleasant background noise. The rooms are big and spacious, the bed is a little hard but I could sleep well. The bathroom is very nice, especially the shower is great! The staff is super friendly and helpful. They ask every day if you want your room to be cleaned. The breakfast is nice (loved the Omelette). Pool is amazing - good for swimming and in the middle of a rice field. You can rent a scooter directly from them. They also offer airport transfer, day trips, laundry services and massages. WiFi is working fast and reliable. When I used Grab I always sent a GoogleMaps screenshot where I marked the road and they found it every time.

United KingdomWe loved our stay here - the room was spacious and clean, the breakfast delicious. The setting in the rice fields is a wonderful escape for the hustle and bustle of Ubud. Three stray dogs which live on the access road have been the highlight of our time in Bali.

South KoreaThe walls are a bit thin so its easy to hear everything from outside, like the rain, river, neighbors and so on. Maybe not the best for people with light sleep.

First of all thank you for a great stay at Uma Raos Cottage. Everything was amazing! The beautiful garden and rice field, the delicious choice of breakfast and fresh juices and Balinese coffee- yummy! The cottages are spacious, super clean, always fresh bed linen and towels, amazing bathroom with rain shower and additional shower head. The bed was super comfy and the private terrace with view an welcoming chill out space. We loved the refreshing pool with beautiful details. The peace is a ZEN oasis to hide way from the hustle and bustle of Ubud town. We hope to be back soon! A special thank you to Indah the host, superb managing skills and great English, always looking after the guests with a great understanding of clients. Thank you but also to the rest of the staff who helped to keep up with the beautiful place. Wishing you the best of luck for the future and hope to see you again!
