How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe beds were comfortable and the staff was nice. The position is perfect, all the central attractions are at a walkable distance.
The bathroom was really dirty, we found pubes on the toilet. It is 100% different from the pictures. The window to go on the balcony is useless: it was like not having it. All the noises and light entered anyway. There was even a chewing gum stuck under the bed side table. The water in the shower and in the sink came out as slowly as possible, doing a shampoo was not possible. The sink was the smallest sink i’ve ever seen.

Verified reviewRoom with balcony and comfortable bed. Surprisingly quiet in the heart of Ubud. Warm water in shower and clean room. The staff was very nice and let us leave our bags there after checking out, before we went to the airport. Also let us use the internet in the pool area after we checked out.
Bathroom a bit old. Unfortunately we also had a neighbour in the room next to us that was drunk and spoke on the phone and with ppl in the garden, until 03:00am. I heard no one from the staff to tell him to be quiet, so we had to bang on his balcony and tell him to shut up. Would have been nice if the staff could have told him before we had to.

Verified reviewLocated close to cafes, restaurants and shops. Short walk to Ubud Palace and market. Front balcony offers lovely view to pool area. Back balcony had view of luscious nature.
The toilet seat had come off , got repaired but came off again. The bath tub and around taps had limescale and looked very dirty. Had to wear slippers/ flipflops when showering . The shower at times was just a slight trickle. The entire bathroom/ toilet need replacing .

Verified reviewQuick check in, I was able to pay by card which is great. I had an amazing view from the room just on the fields across the river, very peaceful. Pool is good to survive the daytime.
I think card payments shall be accepted without commission.

Verified reviewThe balcony and the location
No too clean, but enough for a young and single traveler, and the AC doesn’t work well

Verified reviewThe pool was lovely and the location was fantastic. Very easy to walk the most places and very Central
No kind of screen curtaining in the bathroom and put drainage mental what it was everywhere every time we had a shower. Accommodation that was actually pretty good but my main issue was this is the only place I've ever stayed in Bali budget or not that did not provide some sort of drinking water to be able to at least brush your teeth in room

Verified reviewButiful hotel remarkably quite - for Asia - and excellent value
Cleanliness is not high but its ok for the money and not the fault of the staff who l think are underpaid and overworked - in the garden. The owner has the ground floor and his kids and baby and his annoying/gorgeous/shit on the pathway snappy dogs so the staff feel compelled to constantly managage and sweep the garden - even during Neyupi - to the neglect of other things that the owner doesnt care about.

Verified reviewGood location, nice pool and garden. Nice view.
The facilities are old, the shower was clogged, we had a rat, bat or something in the roof making sounds all night. We had a hole in the air conditioner and a bug entered in the room. The wifi was horrible 😭

Verified reviewThe location of the property is very central, downtown. All major sights of Ubud (Ubud palace, monkey forest, etc.) plus a number of different yoga studios, numerous shops, restaurants and cafes all within walking distance. The place is set back off the street. Rooms are located on the 1st/2nd floor. Breakfast and small meals optional and very good. A swimming pool is in the beautiful gardens.
There is some noise in the evening (till midnight) from several open air / live music bars from across the other side (monkey forest road) which I didn’t expect. The bathroom is quite old, yet you get what you pay for, a budget conscious no frills option to sleep centrally.

Verified reviewThe balcony in the room was splendid . And when I asked about a kettle, one appeared quickly filled with filtered water. All in all a lovely place
Lots of steps up to room, but staff helped with bags, and meant we had a good view. Access to filtered water would have been good,

Verified reviewIt's a family house that we stayed and was the top floor from which you can oversee Ubud. There's another house on the same lot where the bungalows are. The house is an authentic one with high ceiling, and yes, it does smell sewage from bathroom but it's not too bad, and hey it's an old house. Being in center of the town and enjoying this authenticity was really great. Pool was clean, garden was well maintained and the family living on ground floor friendly.
Maybe more clear directions how to reach the place as it is at the end of a narrow street, off the main street. Wifi was not the best, but it was better than many other places in Ubud for this price. Really, you can't complain for what you get for such price.
