How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLocation was good, although down a long narrow lane way. Room was large. Beds were comfy. Staff tried very hard to make up for any shortcomings
Only one pillow per bed and a very thin blanket (staff did bring extra but we had an uncomfortable first night). Transport service on offer was not flexible at all.

Verified reviewExcellent location, down an alley away from the chaos and very peaceful but walking distance to main attractions. Staff very helpful and room and grounds kept spotless.
Apart from the monkey trying to steal our breakfast ( and some might regard that as a bonus) can’t fault it.

Verified reviewOur hotel room at the rear of the property had uninterrupted views of the lush green forest. Room was spacious and comfortable. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.
The access to the hotel is via a narrow laneway with no parking. The laneway is subject to minor flooding during heavy rain.

Verified reviewLarge rooms. Centrally located. Very long pathway away from the monkey forest street. Friendly staff. Balcony in the 2 rooms were nice but monkeys come so you have to eat inside room and watch your stuff. Not private on the 1 st floor rooms. Housekeeping changed sheets and towels, and cleaned bathroom daily. Original stay was a good cost
We booked for 5 night and had to be moved 3 times!! Paid for Deluxe room- TV was not working and AC not working in first unit we stayed in- standard room. Staff was very helpful and tried to remedy all the problems we encountered. Rooms are very dimly lit- barely able to see self in mirror, so dark unless it’s daytime and the balcony curtains are completely drawn. Breakfast usually cold and was not very tasty- better to go out for a good breakfast. Only gave 1 egg, not able to give 2nd egg in lieu of the warm hard sandwich toast provided. Rooms had been cleaned but not dusted well- lots of dirt around the outlets and bedside tables. I would recommend another place- and will likely not stay again considering the constant issues encountered. When we decided to stay in UBud an extra 2 nights we booked this hotel again- (last minute decision)- they charged 3 times more for a “better” room that didn’t have functioning items such as a working TV and it was cheaper on booking.com .bungalow makes no accommodations for customers- even though there are non working items such as TV, AC.

Verified reviewLarge apartment, great location, very good price standard room. Staff very nice. Good quality sheets.
We booked 3 night - but had to be moved to a different room because they over booked one room. The lighting is very bad, super dark in the room, poor lighting, AC did not work- fixed eventually. Breakfast is included but not very good- cheap white bread used, food arrived cold every day. Only get 1 egg not 2, that is considered an extra breakfast- and requested to pay extra for breakfast, tried to substitute 2 pieces of toast for one pancake- unable to make any accommodations. Orders are sometimes correct. Staff spent more time in our room than we did . Fixing stuff, making changes or moving our stuff. Inconvenienced without any consideration. Staff doing their best - but seems like this is how owners mandate place be run. Can’t recommend- unless you can’t find another place. They have a pool - but didn’t use - rained most days.

Verified reviewWe loved our stay. It’s a great central location but quiet with a countryside outlook. Accessed only down a long narrow lane. The staff are all super friendly and helpful. The rooms are large and comfortable. The breakfast is fresh and delivered to your room.
If possible go for a deluxe room at the very back with a view over the stream and forrest.

Verified reviewLocation, big beautiful rooms, helpful staff. Brekkie was tasty and plenty for average person. Lovely pool. We stayed in Tanjung and Sandat rooms.
Would have been good to have shampoo, Conditioner provided but didn’t spoil our stay at all. Bottled water would also have been nice. No food or drinks on site.

Verified reviewWe’ve stayed before so know what to expect here. It is central and reasonably priced which we wanted
It’s not luxury so if you’re after that you won’t get it but it’s clean and does everything we needed. They even made omelettes for us as we were gluten and dairy free. The hotel is off the main path which can be disconcerting the first time you go there

Verified reviewAbsolutely fantastic! Amazing property for such a great price, and the staff were very friendly. Perfect location central to everything in Ubud, but still felt peaceful away from the noise.
Only thing I would say is I arrived by myself late at night and it was a bit hard to find down an alley-so I would recommend booking airport pickup through the hotel so they can show you where to go
