How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The host lady that goes by (Mama) She verbally tore in to me! Only to end up apologizing when she realized she was wrong! She told me "Get down stairs!" "You must be out of here at 12!" And much more ...All the while, she was driving her pointer finger into the wooden table while lecturing me! She had a stern look and aggressive attitude. I was calm and explained to her that I had rebooked earlier that morning. Her staffworker who woke me up from my sleep, was turning her head away bcuz she was embarrassed! I'm a 47 yr old man and she was lecturing me like I was a child! After she didn't believe me. She then called her boss and he confirmed to her that I had rebooked. She tried to be nice after that, but I had already seen the lady behind the mask. I didn't tell her off the way I wanted to, but I decided to write this comment in hopes that she knows about it and not to treat others that way!
The facility was okay. The AC didn't work well but it was okay. The bed was comfy. Hot water was good but didn't last long.

Last few days of our stay there was no internet, which made it hard to plan things for the rest of our trip. Also we happened to have to noisy people in the next room, but that’s no fault of the property
Mama is lovely and very helpful with anything you need. AC in the room works great, the bed is comfortable and water pressure was also good in the shower

The air con was not very strong and kept turning off and there was a power outage.
Location was right in the center of Ubud, very convenient to get to any attraction and great restaurants. Bed was very comfortable and room was clean. Mama was a very friendly and helpful host who will make you feel right at home. Hot water in shower!

Couldn’t get hot water from the shower even tho it looked like there was a boiler. Didn’t ask for help with it so might be just my own fault.
The staff were super nice, kind and helpful. Good price for a private room. AC worked well!

Beware of the naphthalene balls in the room! I don't know why they put those toxic stinky balls in a room. I had to remove all of them before settling in. The naphthalene balls were under the bed, under the bedside tables, under the sink, and in the wardrobe. Ibu, please don't put naphthalene balls in the rooms 🙏🏼 Some of the chemicals in mothballs can cause reversible health effects that include headaches, nausea, eye and nose irritation and coughing. Exposure to naphthalene can cause more serious effects, including hemolytic anemia. Naphthalene is also a possible carcinogen.

There is no sign on the main road, so it may be difficult to find at first. The bathroom could have been cleaner. You need a bike to get into central Ubud as there are no good safe walkways.
Our hosts were warm, welcoming and insightful. Gave great recommendations for things to see and do. Great little hotel if you're on a budget! Comfortable bed with AC and ensuite. Only a short ride into Central Ubud. Close to a place to do laundry.

Location was abit out of main town Ubud so 15-20min bike ride away depending on traffic.

Only issues were it can be quite noisy from the room because of roosters lol and a bit further out from Ubud. But grab and taxis solve that issue.
Mama was a fantastic host and catered to any needs I had, including a later checkout. The room was good value for money as well.

The staff kept asking for a payment upfront although a few attempts to explain payment was to be made upon leaving. However, it was happening again the next day until payment was being made.
