How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewTHIS HOTEL DOUBLE BOOKED ME AND DID NOT HAVE A ROOM FOR US. We arrived at 5PM after 24h of travel and were basically told “yes, we can see your reservation is here but we don’t have a room for you because we forgot”. We asked them if they could help us find another hotel or if they had a phone we could use to call other places and they said no and left us to fend for ourselves. Luckily we found another hotel and it was great but this was a terrible way to start our trip.

There was no breakfast or spa, they don’t give toiletries , not even soap, we had to ask for toilet paper , it was very hard to find someone on the front desk and as a lot of people live there, is very hard to know who is working, they are doing a construction work inside the hotel so the hammering etc won’t stop until 10:00 pm, it was very dirty, you could actually smell the mold in the room, the rooms doesn’t look AT ALL as the pictures

Verified reviewI did not stay here. The hotel let me book a room at 1am on booking.com and there was no one at reception when we got to the hotel and the manager would not answer his phone. I am still awaiting a refund!

Verified reviewLocation is great. Right near the markets and close to many restaurants. Male staff member was lovely and tried hard to look after us.
Owner is rude and not helpful at all. We ordered 3 ground floor rooms, however the owner told us bad luck and had my elderly mother stay on the top floor. There is no lift and No TV or Kettle in the rooms as advertised. Very very basic room and ours stunk really bad.. musky in bedroom and the bathroom smelt like a urinal! There was no hot water for the first 2 days even though the lovely staff member tried to fix it multiple times. Monkeys came in aggressively one day, it was a bit scary though staff did pull out a gun (and speaker😂) to scare them off. This place does have potential however probably not with the current owner.

One day we didn’t have water and the other day no electricity (so also no airco, wifi, lights etc.). When we asked the staff about this their response was “you have cheap room”, but I think we would at least get these basic amenities. Also nobody at reception and no daily housekeeping.

Verified reviewThe only two good things about this hotel are the location and friendly staff. Terrible smell of humidity and mould in the room. What is worse, when leaving the hotel this smell still stayed at the clothes. Dirty bedsheets, dirty bathroom. The toilet was leaking to the floor. No hot water the first day.
