Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenWhile our overall stay was 10/10, there was one thing we wish to highlight. One listed facility wasn't correct - On booking it says that they have a sauna but this is incorrect and needs to be updated.
We really enjoyed this Homestay due to its cozy garden, clean and spacious rooms with private toilets. The staff really made us feel at home and made sure we had everything we needed. The breakfast and dinner was good as well. Both nights when we stayed at Avocado we had a great time with the staff and fellow travelers. Drinking local rice wine, playing cards, listening to music and doing karaoke. The guided tour we did with Avocado was exceptional as well.

New ZealandGreat accomodation to stay at in this area. Yusuf (the main guy working) is an absolute legend and made the stay highly enjoyable. Took us to local village and waterfalls around the area. Would highly recommend staying here and the accommodation itself is exactly what you need.

HungaryIts a long way from where everythings happening. The road to tetebatu is full dirt and rocks for like 15 mins. If you go the other way around the road is better but its longer.
The room was nice, in the jungle

United KingdomReally lovely vibe, the family that own the home stay are so warm and welcoming and can help with tours, taxis and hiring bikes. Homely little traditional village location (Need to rent a bike to explore). Also after some explaining, understood my gluten free dietary requirements and make the most delicious traditional food for us, great cook! Lovely area to explore too, wish we had longer! Thank you 😊

GermanyThe location is pretty far from any supermarket and the road is bumpy but some rice fields are around the door.
They're offering plenty cool tours with a tour guide via rentable scooter which weren't expensive (to rice fields - waterfalls - black monkey Forest and another one to bamboo crafting workshop and weaving traditional cloths) Good cheap food at the hostel. Fun activities with the staff in the evening like drinking together, karaoke, playing guitar and more. AND KITTENS

United KingdomIt’s a beautiful place. What made it so great was the guys working there. Yusuf took us out for the day to see a village farming cooperative, waterfalls, monkeys and local crafts. He was the best tour guide ever. Highly recommend that you trust him and go along with his suggestions. It’s fairly basic but the price reflects that and it’s great value for money.

NorwayIf you want to experience Indonesian culture without all the tourist arround you, this is the place. It has genuinely been the greatest experience in all of my travels in Indonesia because of the people. The place is owned and driven by a family who will welcome you. They don’t just want your money, they want to get to know you and are genuine. And you should get a guide from there because he will invite you to see many local places, knows so much about agriculture and everything. It is 100% worth the money.

Francewe discovered this hidden gem thanks to a traveler who spoke so passionately about it that we had to see it for ourselves, and we’re SO GLAD we did tucked away in nature and far from the usual tourist paths, we found ourselves completely alone in this peaceful haven we were welcomed with warmth by Aiwa and his wonderful team, who more than hosted us: they shared a piece of their lives with us the rooms were simple but clean, we only stayed one night but truly wished we had more time there we also booked a day tour through the homestay with Yusup and Anwing, two amazing and funny guides. we explored terebatu's amazing landscapes and encountered very few tourists to Aiwa, Yusup, Anwing, Iwan, and Amana: thank you from the bottom of our hearts, our time at avocado hostel will always hold a special place in our hearts ❤️

United KingdomNothing to complain about. It’s a simple place with simple facilities but you have everything you need.
A nice homestay in the middle of this tiny local village. The staff was amazing, you truly felt like you are a part of the family and get a real indonesian village experience. I even extended my stay as the owners invited me and other guests to their wedding which was an incredible once in a lifetime experience. Everyone in the village is so kind and sweet and took the best care of us. Thank you for everything x

United StatesWifi wasn’t very good. I also wish the windows could properly close to limit the insects entering at night. Didn’t have much else around the property so definitely needed a scooter to get around.
The staff were very friendly and helped organize a transfer for us. The property itself is also good with food and drinks available.
