How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewVery good location with sea views and 30 second walk to the beach. Street market right outside was also great for food.
No soap (it was broken). And maybe could have had fresh towels halfway through since it was a 1 week stay.

Verified reviewYan was very helpful and a nice guy. Very close to market only 15 meters. If you have an upstairs room 1 floor ( stairs ) you can see the water only 120 meters to the sea. Big bathroom and big bed. Has free instant coffee and tea and dispenser for drinking hot or cold water
Very clean and very very close to day and night market

Verified reviewThe location is fantastic, right next to a small pasar where they sell fresh food in the day and food stalls in the evening. We absolutely love the food vendor that sells terang bulan and Martabak enaak 😋!! The apartment is quite new, clean and comfortable. The staff is very helpful
Communal kitchen on the first floor only has some tea and coffee and nothing else ; no fridge, chopping board, knife, plates/bowls and cutlery. We have to ask if we can use their fridge downstairs to store the fruits we bought from the market & borrow knife & chopping board to slice fruits we buy from the market; the guy was very nice and ask us to get it from the kitchen downstairs. However there is no water from the basin downstairs to do washing !

Verified reviewSuper friendly and helpful staff! They took us on a trip along the island and even arranged our onward boat tickets. All for a fair price. Rooms are comfortable and clean.
The airconditioning struggled a bit to cool the room, but it worked just well enough for us to sleep. :)

Verified reviewThe host Yan was amazing! He gave us loads of recommendations for places to eat and he helped us organise our tours and drivers while we were there. He even acted as our driver one of the days and took us for brunch and everything. The location is great, very close to the port where we got collected from and lots of food places nearby. We didn't have any issues with noise even though the market is just outside. The room was really comfortable and there were free water refills, tea and coffee available. Definitely recommend a stay here!
Although this wasn't an issue for us, the door didn't close all the way. It locked, but there was a gap at the bottom which wasn't covered by curtains which could let bugs in. We didn't have an issue with this at all though
big thanks for your review Alice 🙏🙏🙏

Verified reviewD’Transit was perfect for what I needed while I was in Nusa Penida. I didn’t want to spend a fortune on accomodation so this was a great budget option. It is right next to the day market so it can get pretty noisy during the day and evening, but my room was at the back so I didn’t hear too much noise - mostly barking dogs and a rooster. The room has pretty good sound-proofing etc, so it was not too loud. I also had a bit of a hard time in Nusa Penida after losing my phone, but the guys, Wayan and Kiting, there were so helpful and understanding and Kiting actually drove me around all day searching for my missing phone via the “find my phone” app… what an adventure lol. Wayan Actually ended up finding my phone via a Facebook page, albeit it was destroyed from the fall. They were just the best and nothing was too difficult for them, just super cool and helpful guys.
Bathrooms and showers in Bali are often not great, and the bathroom here was a bit ordinary, but the water was warm and it did the job. There was nothing else I was unhappy with.

Verified reviewThe room was comfortable and provided a nice seaview. Thanks Kiting for your help and arranging the bike transfers for me
I didn't expect the place to be too noisy.. I had stayed 4 nights so it was a bit too much with the noise and smell of the market.

Verified reviewOur stay at D’TRANSIT was great! The beds were very comfy and the rooms were clean. However the past part of our stay was the helpful owner. He was so sweet and helped us get around the island, drive us to dinner and book ferry tickets for us. He made our stay in Nusa Penida much better. I really recommend this place!!

Verified reviewEVERYTHING! The location was brilliant. The owner was one of the nicest most welcoming people ever! Nothing was too much hassle. He even dropped us off on a festival day to our boat to the Gili Island. My favourite place we have stayed since being in Bali and Nusa Penida! I will definitely be returning when next back in Bali!
Nothing everything was perfect!
