I've stayed at Toko Toko a few times and will return when back in Ubud. The breakfasts in the new restaurant are lovely, staff are friendly, helpful and speak/understand english well. Bedroom and bathroom are both spacious. Bonus that there's a full size fridge and a great storage for clothing. Will definitely return :-)

Only issue was construction noise as they’re building new rooms but it was far enough away from me to not be intrusive.

Stunning family compound guesthouse with unbeatable views over quiet rice fields, pool and jaw dropping sunsets. The breakfast was good and the staff are wonderful, they make you feel at home. The pool was lovely and deep and a good size for laps. Many good options nearby and a short walk to Putri Spa which has amazing treatments.

There was building work happening that we were not aware of which made it very noisy. The owner did move us to a quieter room though, which was lovely.

Very peaceful and out of the chaos of central Ubud but within a 30 min walk or short taxi ride. Backing onto rice fields - good for long walks. Beautiful pool and surrounds. Many good restaurants and spa’s within easy walking distance. Delightful staff and beautiful views from the rooms.

Moving from the busy street to the inner calm of Toko Toko you realise you’ve entered a sanctuary. As well as a fabulous accommodation establishment! Love everything about this place, and the staff - who are all family - are delightful and helpful. The pool and surrounding area is beautiful too.

Everything about Toko Toko is fantastic! The gardens and pool are lovely and a great buffer from the madding crowd of Ubud! The staff are all lovely, attentive and efficient. A fabulous home away from home. Perfect long stay destination.

Toko Toko is currently undergoing construction with more rooms being built. It is also located up a steep hill with a broken sidewalk/pavement with building materials (rocks/sand) frequently blocking walking access requiring you to step out, or cross, a very busy road. It would be easy to sprain an ankle or injure a toe. At night time I used both a head torch and my phone flashlight which helped. There are lots of steps which you need to navigate within Toko Toko itself. My room was on the third floor with stairs only access. If steps are not your thing or you are carrying a lot of luggage then this is not the place for you. The pool loungers and umbrellas are near end of life and in need of replacement. The bathroom door in my room needs replacing as it could not be closed with a large gap. No problem for me though as I was travelling solo. Unlike other places I stayed where there was an ever present full host Toko Toko supplied light but friendly hospitality.

Friendly reception. Located back from busy road but Toko Toko is currently undergoing construction with more rooms being built looking likely to take a couple of years. My room had both airconditioning and a ceiling fan which helped with the heat and avoiding getting sick from sleeping under the airconditioning unit. Rice fields directly out back. Manager Toko offered me a late checkout as I was not leaving till 1pm which was very much appreciated. Thanks Toko !

In Australia a 'bungalow' is a low single story dwelling so I had not expected stairs. I was shocked on arrival to find that I had an upstairs room without a view after going along a beautiful pathway with a total of 22 steps up and down every little decorative gateway before getting to the 16 stairs to the room. At least there was a hand rail and a kind lady carried my bag up for me. No services like anyone to take washing to the laundry as I have found in other hotels. I did not try the swimming pool because my knees only allowed me to to go up and down the stairs to the room once a day.

Toko Toko Bungalows has very beautiful pathways and statues, good furniture and is quiet and away from the road. I liked the beauiful painting in my room. There was hot water and good Bali coffee near the room and the breakfast, although a limited choice, was good. Good nasi goreng and fruit salad. It would be great for anyone without mobility issues.
