Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaIf you are a light sleeper like me the steep road that comes up from the valkey below the property is very noisy. Communication was a bit difficult.
The location is good, close to the newly opened Blue Mountains Restaurant, the rooms are a real good size views are spectacular 👌

SingaporeBreakfast was a little too simple. I wouldn’t mind paying a few more dollars for a more filling breakfast. Example: other hotels we stayed included fruits, yoghurt, or at least bread with omelette. Here it was just omelette and coffee (without any bread).
Wayan the owner was very helpful and even arranged for me to rent a scooter for the day. Location has a beautiful sunrise view and the rooms are perfect for the view (rooftop even better!). Still some construction going on so I expect it’ll be better.

AustraliaCouldn't see the mountain due to rain on the first night. However, when see the rain stopped the next day was really beautiful view! The owner ( forgot his name sorry) was very attentive and kind, even offering us to go to Mount batur with his Jeep and again, offering us to go the biggest temple in the kintamani region. Water is hot and good pressure, breakfast was being delivered to the room where we can watch the mountain from the balcony, otherwise the restaurant area show bigger platform to view the mountain. Smart TV to connect to my Netflix and Amazon Prime, which we appreciate on a rainy day .

AustraliaAmazing location in the most gorgeous building, very exclusive with so many common areas to enjoy the view . An early night for us as we left the hotel at 3am to do the climb, very comfy room and bed, lovely shower and all very clean. The owner was incredibly helpful with our local driver as he also stayed. The hotel connected me with local guides for the climb. I am so happy we stayed locally the night before the climb as we got to experience the village at sunset , and sleep in a little more :)

AustraliaThe bathroom for our experience was sub-par, it smelled quite badly and would spread into the room, perhaps they just had some septic tank issues during our stay, but it was not pleasant. The rooms could do with a mini bar fridge to store drinks/snacks, don't need an AC but a fan would have been awesome to circulate the air in the room.
The view is incredible, the staff are very friendly, breakfast is simple but delicious, value for money is very good

AustraliaThere was a strange smell in the bathroom. Breakfast was hit & miss. One morning there were lots of staff in the Kitchen & the next morning we had to go find staff to cook for us. Breakfast was unfortunately a little average. Some fresh fruit & juice would be great to see on the menu. That the Balcony railing had one panel missing, so could potentially be very dangerous. I Waa disappointed that our rooms weren't serviced daily. No fresh water, toilet paper & tea & coffee. This would make a huge deal of difference towards a more comfortable stay.
The position of this hotel is exceptional. Amazing for Sunrise viewing over Mt Batur & Lake Batur. The hotel is 15 minutes walking distance to many great Restaurants & Grocery Stores for water etc. My room & balcony was lovely. Recently refurbished & very nicely decorated. The owner was lovely but his English was unfortunately lacking. Overall I really enjoyed my stay in the Witari & I would definitely consider staying here again.

Absolutely terrible experience. We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights, and the service was unacceptable from the start. The staff showed no care or attention, and our room was never cleaned once during the entire stay. Breakfast was disgusting — low quality, poorly presented, and nothing fresh. WiFi was horrible and barely worked. Overall, no effort was made to make guests feel welcome or comfortable. I would never return and do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

AustraliaThe view was spectacular and located a short ride or walk to cafes and restaurants. Friendly staff. Make sure you catch the sunrise from the top platform. It the best view. We organised the hike through the suggested person by the Witari staff and had a guide just for us which was so much better than a big group.

United KingdomBreakfast was poor - very basic. We ordered French toast which was awful. It came with coffee - but with no fruit or juice or syrup/honey. We have been in Bali for two weeks now, staying in a variety of hotels and home stays and this was by far the worst breakfast. The hotel was fairly empty when we stayed so the atmosphere was very strange and the service was lacking. We stayed for two nights and we didn’t get any housekeeping - beds weren’t made and no clean towels, which isn’t the end of the world but toilet bins didn’t get emptied either - this is poor.
Lovely big rooms with large beds and great views.

AustraliaThe place doesn't have a restaurant although they have all the furniture for it.
The place has really great and breathtaking views. Its super clean and has everything that you would need. The staff is very accommodating and laid back and the vibe of the place is super chill. There is a little bit of work to be done so I wouldn't recommend it for kids. A bit unsafe with missing railings. We had a great experience here.

FranceBeautiful view, but overall disappointing The view from the hotel is truly beautiful – that’s definitely the highlight. But honestly, that’s about it. The hotel is quite small, with only five rooms, and it’s very noisy. You can hear everything – people coming and going, doors opening, conversations. The rooms are spacious, and while some have a bit of humidity or a damp smell, it’s not unbearable. We asked to change rooms, and they were accommodating, giving us a bigger one, which was appreciated. However, the rest was disappointing. Breakfast was very basic and not particularly good, especially compared to what we’ve had in other hotels around Bali. The place is advertised as a café-restaurant, but it felt more like an empty shell – no real activity, no atmosphere, and very limited service. There’s also nothing nearby in terms of scooter rental or services, so we had to rely on taxis the whole time, which made everything more expensive and less convenient. In the end, the view is definitely stunning, but I believe you can find places with a similar view and better service, comfort, and convenience to actually enjoy your stay.
