How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewI arrived very late at night and there was someone available to check me in. The villa was huge. The pool had sunlight all day and was massive and clean. The outdoor area with sun loungers and day bed was fantastic. Staff were very friendly, always smiling and helpful. The bed was so comfy, normally in Asia they are rock hard. The bathroom was huge and the air conditioning was nice and cool at all times. It was very safe and well lit when coming home late at night. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly. A good variety of items available on the breakfast menu. The location was central and only a 2 minute walk to the main street, yet super quiet at night. Even thought there are around 9 villas close together, I didnt hear one noise from any of the villas all day/night. Perfect for couples or families.
The furniture was old and marked and the walls indoor and out had paint crumbling and definitely in need of an update, but this did not make any difference to my stay as it was very clean. The TV had a great number of English speaking channels but the reception was fuzzy and difficult to watch at times. The lighting in the villa was very dark. There were no USB wall chargers for devices.

Verified reviewStaff team is really nice, helpful. The room is extremely clean, shower good, sink good, everywhere is maintained well although it's been decorated for a few years but still in very good condition. Breakfast is good, tons of choices on the menu. And the location is wonderful, 1 minute and you are in a busy street with varies of choices for food and beverage, 3 minutes to gym and 10 minutes walk to the beach. It's close but not noisy so you can have a very good rest even on weekends.
The sit toilet can be better.

Booking.com booked me into a 1 bedroom villa. When I arrived they put me into a pavilion which was not what my booking said and not what i booked. Their confirmation from booking.com said pavilion however my booking confirmation did not say this, it said 1 bedroom villa. They would not move me to a 1 bedroom villa unless I paid a lot more so this ruined my experience from the start. Booking.com and the villa need to fix their naming of the rooms as people will book a room thinking it is one thing, and then get put into another.

Verified reviewLocation is great. Quiet but only 50 metres to eat street. The larger size one bedroom villa has a beautiful sized pool and lush garden surrounds. The staff all lovely. Breakfast was good, particularly when eaten at the restaurant rather than in villa ( as fresher)
An outdoor shower and direct access to the bathroom from poolside would be handy.

Verified reviewWe had a 3 bedroom villa which was absolutely gorgeous. We are a family of 5 so my daughter had a room to herself and our 2 sons shared a room. All 3 rooms were the same size, the beds were firm but comfortable and the bathroom was massive with doors that opened out onto a lovely tropical garden. We also loved the separate living area which is a whole other villa with a dining room, tv area and a kitchen with cold filtered water. The staff were all lovely and they even had a birthday cake and sang happy birthday to my 19 year old son. The afternoon high tea was totally unexpected and wow, what a lot of food it was, it was delicious. Our breakfast was brought to us in our villa and it was lovely and plentiful. The villa is right near “eat street” with loads of dining options. The pool was lovely and big. Even though you are right in the middle of the hustle and bustle we didn’t hear any noise at night. We only had the 1 night here before we had to fly home but wished we could have had more. We would definitely stay here again if we were in Seminyak. Thank you for a lovely stay.
