Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Switzerland- During low tide you can't really swim from the beach because of the seegras (you would have to walk through a lot of seegras to get to the water), however, this might be seasonal - there are only two free boot shuttles euch day so not a lot of flexibility - the food is OK, but not great
- great reef just in front of the resort for snorkeling - very pretty bungalows made out of bamboo with outdoor bathroom - a lot of activities are offered with no additional cost (e.g. renting a canue or stand-up-paddeling) - very friendly staff

New ZealandThe massage was not fantastic and I booked for half an head and shoulders and they tried to charge me for a full hour. Water was charge for in the restaurant yet free in your room, seemed a little unfair.
Location, quiet , eco friendly , coral restoration was amazing. Excellent food on the restaurant. Clean and very comfortable rooms, tastefully decorated Great activities guide , kayaked and snorkelled with me to Hatamin Island. Great paddle boards available.even saw a turtle and lion fish Snorkelling in the bay was superb. Lovely local fishing village nextdoor , a must see . The villagers were so friendly and so interesting to see their way of life

MonacoEverything was great. My only recommendation would maybe be to get menus that aren’t in plastic and napkins that aren’t paper. It would elevate the whole restaurant experience a tad.
It was very well kept and simply beautiful

AustraliaI know, I know - it says “no Wi-Fi or phone” but it really would be nice to have. Or at least communication with reception/restaurant from your room. Food (and restaurant staff) were all great but we did miss the option of having wine with meals.
Extraordinary location, nestled on its own beach, with beachside bungalows only steps from the sand. Enthusiastic water sports activities (thank you Elias!). Beautiful to hang out on the wharf bungalows along the jetty and around the infinity pool. Lovely staff.

United Arab EmiratesFood is not great and private transport from Labuan Bajo (no hotel free shuttle after 2 pm) is a scam at 3 million idr (180 usd), for a 15-20 month boat ride.
Location, simplicity, full bamboo architecture of rooms, eco friendly. Staff and managements are particularly nice and caring. They made us feel really welcomed and it’s seemed natural and not overdone. Rooms by the water are made of bamboo and really by the water. If you want a resort but you are a bit tight on budget, this is the place (the one next door has better amenities and food but is way more expensive). Tour of Komodo islands, manta ray etc was nicely organized and staff again there was amazing and helpful and made it a pleasure to spend the day touring with them. Also snorkeling equipment was of very good quality.

PortugalWe had expectations regarding the value for money of the resort, which motivated our choice, especially compared to its direct competitors, and these expectations were far exceeded. This was due to the design of the space, the maintenance of the facilities, and the diversity of the services provided, all of undeniable quality. There is a clear attention to detail to ensure that the customer is at the center of the service experience and enjoys a stay that is as complete and restful as possible, demonstrating evident care in planning everything to guarantee an unforgettable customer experience.

Fabulous hotel on a island close to Labuan Bajo. The resort itself is super pretty, pool is nice. View is incredible. We didn't want to leave. Staff was super nice and helpful. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was the most enjoyable possible. They even organized a tour to Komodo national park for us.

NetherlandsIt was absolutely amazing! From the moment I stepped into the resort, it felt like I had entered paradise. The snorkeling experience was truly fantastic—like swimming in an aquarium! We were thrilled to spot turtles during our dives. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the food was both delicious. Our favorite spot? Definitely the cabanas—they are the perfect place to relax and soak in the beauty of the resort.

AustraliaNothing, the staff were young and enthusiastic and any mistake was with good intentions. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The site is superb.
Staying on remote resorts requires some acceptance that EVERYTHING is difficult. Don’t come to a place like this expecting a 6 star experience. It is a 5 star experience for what it is - a boutique resort on a remote island.

AustraliaFood was ok on the menu, a few of the Indonesian dishes lack in authenticity flavour.
A picturesque view from every direction, with an abundance of colourful fish at your doorstep. The bungalows were very comfortable and clean and the jetty offered a very relaxing experience with its unique architecture net that allowed you to kick back and enjoy the surroundings.

Germany- good to know that there are barely any boats from the island to Labuan Bajo! Private boats take 45 min and cost almost 90€ which is too much in our opinion but we had no other way to get to Labuan Bajo, so we had to pay it twice :( - the free breakfast is not the best, the really delicious things cost extra.
- perfect spot, especially during low season - we were bumped up to a nicer bungalow!! - free snorkeling gear with the nicest corals, free canoe and free SUP - just make sure to check the best hours for everything! - our airline lost our suitcases and they did their best to recover it, we had them the day after and they made sure the driver went to the airport to fetch them, so great - Andre was the nicest person, he made our stay so much more comfortable!!!
