How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The trip became more enjoyable because of the host's kind explanation and introduction of Balinese culture! I will definitely visit again

Verified reviewThe hosts were really welcoming and helpful. She gave us a lot of information about how to get to places by the local bus, which helped a lot. In the morning, we had a warming breakfast with Reinhold and his son. Breakfast was tasty and cheap. The bed was very comfortable, and the air conditioning in the room was also good. The area where it is located is very tranquil.
No nearby restaurants on foot. We had to walk 20 min to eat at 8 pm. However, there's a cafe closeby open during the day and if you have a scooter, restaurants should be 5 - 10 min away.

Verified reviewI wonder how this place can be so well-rated?🤔 I tried to contact the host many times from 9pm, one hour before closing time : on Booking, by text, WhatsApp call and they never answered. The place was hard to find but I managed to reach before 10pm, as it was requested. The lady who opened was not welcoming at all, reproaching me to arrive late, not sorry but finding excuses to not have answered my messages/calls. I guess from the start she was hoping I would get too late to check in and would got the money anyway, and not the hassle of having the room cleaned up. She seemed annoyed I wanted to go out again with my friend and come back later, it felt like being a child with a 22:00 night permission🤪 First thing in the morning when she heard me go out of the room for water, she came up with the bill not even asking how was my night. Actually it was not so good. There was a blanket but no sheet, but fortunately I have a sarong ( a bit to short to make a proper sheet) The aircon seems quite old, was not regular and quite noisy, as for the outdoor noise outside, fortunately I have earplugs. There was a slight smell in the room despite all the desodorizing stuff, probably because of humidity ( and no window) I am happy I just stay on short night here and don’t recommend the place if you expect a Balinese welcome. Before checking out, I met the husband who was smiling, and seemed to be more talkative. Lady showed a little more interest, but I didn’t stay long enough for my first impression to be changed. Maybe it was an exception, so, and wish a better experience to the future guests

In response, we advised you to endeavor to arrive before 10:00 PM to ensure a smooth check-in process. Please be aware that our guesthouse staff members commence their duties at 6:00 AM each morning, and after 9:00 PM, our communication channels are not actively monitored. Throughout our decade-long tenure, our primary goal at the Reinhold Guesthouse has been to provide our guests with comfort and convenience to the best of our capabilities. It is customary for us to personally greet new arrivals, engaging in brief conversations and sharing travel experiences. Regrettably, due to the time constraints during your visit, we were unable to uphold this customary welcome. We acknowledge the adverse weather conditions you encountered during your journey from Sanur to Kerobokan on the day of your reservation. We understand the frustration associated with navigating such inclement weather. Since its inception, the Reinhold Guesthouse has been renowned for the exceptional hospitality of our host, Ibu Raghiel. Ibu Raghiel's warmth and care towards our guests have consistently earned praise from all who have had the pleasure of staying with us. It is important to note that her concern for your well-being, expressed upon learning of your intention to venture out into the heavy rain to visit a friend late at night, stemmed purely from a desire to ensure your safety as a newcomer to our area. We must address the speculation you expressed regarding our intentions concerning your late arrival. Any suggestion that we would wish for guests to arrive late to avoid the inconvenience of room preparation or cleaning is entirely unfounded. There is no lift available, so it is going to be tough for someone who brings heavy luggage to go to the second floor.

Verified reviewI was in the twin room for a night. There was no windows, so it was alright. Then I was in a room with a big window for 2 nights. Much better room! Both were clean. Common area cleaned everyday. Got sheets and blankets that smelled freshly washed and many pillows. I was comfortable and the family was very nice. I felt safe there. The location was alright for me. I just took grabs to places. Overall, for the price, one of the best places I’ve stayed in Bali.
There is noise in the morning but I just fell back asleep.

Verified reviewLovely house and comfortable rooms with A/C, good wifi and a balcony. Water is provided free of charge, and the area is nice and relaxed with many eateries around if you walk to the main street. The owner of the house is great and it was overall a very comfortable stay.
