Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

UkraineA wonderful place for the price. Huge thanks for your care and the cozy atmosphere. The accommodation is clean — yes, the furniture isn’t new, but everything is spotless and the internet is excellent. If you’re looking for peace and want to get away from the noise, this is definitely the place for you. By the way, the laundry is very close by, and they can help you with that too.

United KingdomThe frequency of cleaning is lacking massively. The kitchen is never cleaned by housekeeping, which makes it really unhygienic to cook, especially since this villa has an open kitchen and there is so much nature outside, there are a lot of insects. You can't even clean after yourself because there are no clothes or products to clean... Same goes for the pool.
I mean, for the price, this was a great find, a big villa full of nature. The lad that welcomed us was so nice and helpful, he really made our stay!

PolandHowever, there are some downsides. 1. Difficult to Find There is no such location or name as The Green Palm Ubud on Google Maps. The actual name is Kalya Villa. I was not provided with clear location details, so my taxi driver and I kept circling the street trying to find the guesthouse and nobody knew it, until we finally called them. But what if a guest doesn’t have a local SIM card? I highly recommend that the hosts address this issue to make it easier for future visitors to find the place. 2. Humidity and Cleanliness Issues It is very humid inside. The bathroom floor is covered with stones, which may look aesthetic but are extremely unhygienic. They cannot be properly cleaned, and they trap moisture, hair, and skin particles. Over time, this has led to visible mold in some areas of the guesthouse. I strongly suggest replacing the stones with regular tiles to prevent these issues. Additionally, some kitchen items were damaged due to the humidity and mold, so better maintenance would be appreciated. 3. Misleading Description The listing states that there is a “private kitchen” and gives the impression that you are renting an entire villa. In reality, it is just a room, and the kitchen is shared with another room. I believe this information should be clearly mentioned in the description to avoid misunderstandings. Despite these concerns, I enjoyed my stay. Thank you for the hospitality!
I stayed here for two weeks and overall had a pleasant experience. The biggest advantage is the incredible peace and quiet. No roosters, no construction, no noisy roads—just a calm street where you can even take a walk. The design is charming, and the staff is very kind and welcoming. The Wi-Fi is decent.

AustraliaNo hand soap or hand towels. Shower was wet the entire 3 days I was there and as a result mosquitos and black mould was growing. Also a large variety of bugs in the room which would freak out someone who couldn’t tolerate them.
It was very quiet and people came to tend to the pool daily. Location was only 10 minutes by bike away from main centre - amazing value for money.

RussiaIt was the worst experience ever on Bali. The bathroom was very dirty, there were dead insects on the walls, the toilet wasn’t very clean, from the different sides it was the layer of dirt. I am not sure if the bed clothes was clean cause when I uncovered the bed I found hair on it. I asked to change (it wasn’t a problem, they did this). The worst thing EVER that the air conditioning in my room didn’t work. Can you imagine staying with no air conditioning when it’s +30? Me not… Unfortunately, I realised that only when I returned home late night. I had to sleep with open door and was bitten, of course, by mosquitos. I could not breathe well, it was very hot, because of that I had a strong headache. The place itself is very humid, very! I have never experienced so humidity. When next day I asked to make a refund, cause I didn’t want to stay anymore, they said to text to booking and that they could not return me money. I was angry, cause they KNOW that air conditioning does not work good! I do not recommend to stay at this place at all! Never. It’s possible to book something much more better than this place for even less money
I never thought that I would say this, but nothing
