How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The shower head was clogged by calcium, I'm sure they would have cleared it but we only had one night and it was not worth it. WhatsApp availability is somewhat slow.

Verified reviewFelt like home away from home. The team at Jangkar was really friendly and helpful. Walking distance to warung sika which serves really good nasi padang, walking distance to I'm Vegan Babe and Secret Spot, and both are plant-based F&B outlets. Good food!
There's nothing I don't like, cause it was exactly what I signed up for. There's no kettle in room, but just have to go to reception and the friendly team will get you hot water!

Verified reviewOverall we had nice experience. Wi-Fi works properly. Staff seemed really nice except when we moved out. We were allowed to check-out an hour later which was nice as my kid got sick, but afterwards surprises followed. Nearby there are shopping options, coffee places, beach in a walking distance.
When we checked-in it didn’t seemed that room was properly cleaned as hairs were on the floor in the room and bathroom. When we moved out one of the staff members came to check our room, which was not done for our fellow traveller in the other room. Bed linnen had stain from coffee. We were requested to pay 250K. When I insisted that all such requests should be made through booking, they backed up. I perceived it as a scam. This ruined all the positive attitude towards staff I had before. By the way staff smokes in the caffee, it literally is a cloud of smoke, very unpleasant if you want to order coffee/food/check-in/out.

We are pleased to inform you and all the guest who read this review that actually since you stay with us, you did not allowed to us cleaning your room (DND) during your stay and you make dirty our sheet, duve, iner duve and pillow with stain of coffee. We can not used the linen for the next set up to the room due to the laundry has not clean the linen properly even used the chemical grade A . As we know and as our experience at the other place or other hotel that if the guest damage the property or everything in their room so the management will charge with the cost directly as the standard procedure on each company (not to request buy booking.com damage request as you mention before you leaved). And then you said on your review, we are a scammer ? we tried to do our best to not charged the cost during the argument with you before you leaved. In this matter we had financial loss and now you said we are scammer, actually we are disappointed with your review but thank you so much for your review and we are deeply sorry for inconvenience caused. Verified reviewThis place was very clean, modern and had spacious rooms. It was also so close to everything. We were spoilt for choice when it came to choosing somewhere to eat. The staff were lovely and would ask via whatsapp if we needed anything. The bed was large and comfortable. And the shower was amazing! The WiFi was also very fast.
There were a lot of stray dogs around, and they would bark late at night. But the staff can't really control that. And although the curtains were very good, some light shon into our room from the lights outside, so we didn't have complete darkness when trying to go to sleep. Not a big deal though.
