How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe spent two wonderful days at the hotel, and my husband and I absolutely loved every moment. What stood out most to us was the warm, home-like ambiance that made us feel instantly comfortable. The traditional Balinese furniture beautifully reflected the island’s cultural identity, adding a sense of authenticity to our stay. And the rooftop—what a gem! At night, we enjoyed breathtaking views of the GWK statue, illuminated by stunning lights that made the experience truly magical. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was incredibly friendly and kind. Her Sphynx cats frequently visited us, much to my husband’s delight—he’s a devoted cat lover. He especially enjoyed their company while sipping his morning coffee, making the experience even memorable.
We did come across two cockroaches in the bathroom area, but it wasn’t a major concern for us. We understand that this can be one of the occasional drawbacks of staying in a tropical climate, and it didn’t take away from our overall experience.

Verified reviewIt was the second time we stayed here and it already felt like home. The staff and owner are so welcoming. Love the cosy feel of the place and the decorations. The walk to the shops is really nice as it’s lined with statues and different plants. The warung just a few meters away has delicious food and at an astonishing price. Love GWK view and would definitely stay again.

Verified reviewThe hotel is in a quiet area near Udayana University, with a beautiful outdoor space, and the staff, especially Holly, was super kind and welcoming.
On my very first day, I saw six cockroaches in the hallway and tiny bugs in my room: on the bed, closet, and table. I was told the cleaning staff would remove the little bugs in my room, but when I returned, nothing had changed. A few days later, the room started to smell moldy, and after a few weeks, I found mold on all my clothes, in every suitcase and bag, everywhere. When I brought this up, I got informed that the hotel doesn’t provide anything to deal with humidity or mold, and switching rooms would cost me extra. Instead, they gave me a pack of camphor (a bug repellent), against the mold. I didn’t feel taken seriously at this point. The shared kitchen and bathroom were barely cleaned, especially the bathroom was left dirty for weeks, with clogged drains, foul smells, and dirty toilets. Working in my room was also impossible. Daily construction noise on the hotel property outside, thin walls, and constant disruptions made it hard to focus. When I asked for a quieter place, I was told to use the terrace or rooftop, which are too noisy, without AC, poor Wi‑Fi, no power outlets. When I informed staff that terrace and rooftop are not suitable alternatives for me, my message was ignored. Only after I got very serious about the situation, the staff allowed me to use a quiet room for a few hours. I’m usually not someone with high expectations when it comes to hotels, but this was just too much. Too many problems and the hotel did not take responsibility, so I had to deal with those very serious problems on my own. I can’t recommend staying here, especially not long-term.
Hello Olesja, 1. Room conditions and cleanliness Our rooms are equipped with ; Anti-bacterial, anti-bed bug and hypoallergenic Latex mattresses +mattress protector and also genuine Goose down pillows and blankets+protector. With our bedding quality, we never have case reported about bed bugs. For Daily room cleaning, we even do friendly reminder to our guests in case they forget to put “Make up room” sign. (evidence available) We are also conducting regular pest control and we put the information sign in the kitchen and bathroom, and to request the guests contact us immediately should the guests see some after pest control action. In your case, we noticed clearly that it wasn’t bug, but ants which may happened if there are sweets in the room. 2. Guest Feedback During your stay, there are also two other long-stay guests (2 months and 4 months) occupying rooms located directly in front of your rooms. Both guests remain satisfied and have made no complaints regarding room conditions or discomfort. In fact, which you may check, our reviews in booking.com during the same period include multiple 10/10 ratings and highly positive organic feedback, also in google business. 3. Humidity Concerns As with many tropical locations in Indonesia, humidity during rainy season is naturally high. We provide in each room anti-humidity solutions (camphor, silica gel, charcoal packs, etc.). We always advise guests to buy those for personal items like shoes and suitcases, and to avoid keeping the damp clothes or shoes in the room. This advice was also given to you. Even we added camphor to your room. Additionally, our staff provided assistance in cleaning and drying your private belongings when requested. Our house keeping helped to clean your suitcase by wiping and drying it and also for the jacket by washing and drying it. And all are FREE OF CHARGE. These environmental factors are beyond our control and are common across all Bali accommodations. We already suggested you to keep air flow and do not keep damp things inside the room. 4. Renovation Notification &, Upgrade Our minor renovation works were carried out strictly between 11:00 AM – 5PM and only in selected areas, and not every day. And of course, with advance notice sent via WhatsApp one day before or the morning before work started (evidence available). Even there was a time we asked you by whatsapp if you felt annoyed we could stop, but you answered “no problem”. {Evidence available} As a courtesy, we offered you to our Studio Deluxe Suite room, which this room type is above 5 levels of room type you were staying, where you could work comfortably during those hours and we did not limit the hours when you wanted to use it, and it was FREE OF CHARGE. And you took the offer. The thing that you said there are no power outlet in our rooftop and terrace balcony, it’s totally not correct. We can send you evidence that it is available in the location. Also, we can send you the evidence of wifi signal available there. Those places are windy and breeze, you may check the reviews of other guests. We could attach all the evidences needed such as picture, whatsapp conversation etc. Best Regards, GWK View Mngmnt

Verified reviewI can't give this home enough compliments. The main shared space on the first floor was glorious, and contained all kinds of Asian artifacts, making it a bit of a museum. The garden in the lounging area was lovely and created a peaceful setting. On the second floor there was a small gym and a nice outdoor space, which my partner was able to work from daily. The third floor provided amazing 360 degree views of the city, and a clear view of the massive GWK statue. Both the 1st and 2nd floors included a kitchen and dining area. The staff was very helpful and attentive, especially the owner Milla. I had some great conversations with her about travel and Indonesia in specific.
The location was favorable for some reasons and not for others. It provided easy access to the GWK Cultural Park, and also my favorite warung of my trip (and I ate at dozens), Warung Bu Pon. However, I found that the home wasn't close to many of the favorable beaches to surf and popular nightlife spots. With that said, the location helped us make a quit exit to the airport when it was time to fly out of Indo.
Dear Evan, We are incredibly grateful that you took the time to tell us about your experience at The GWK View. Please know that your feedback is extreamly valuable to us. We hope that you will give us the opportunity to serve you again in the next visit. Sincerely yours, Management

Verified reviewAt first it seemed good, as time went on it was not so good. The staff were lazy and not friendly. There was one man who worked a lot and many who did little.
The room said it came with both a shower and a bath. This was not the case. When I asked about this I was told I could use the bath in the adjoining bath room. This was also not the case. It was always locked and I was then told something different. The shared toilet was dirty and not replenished with toilet paper or cleaned. Our room was only cleaned twice in 7 days. The floors were not cleaned well and under the bed was always dirty.
Dear Vikki, We appreciate your input. We are confirming that we have given the same room that you ordered. As everything are the same just like the description and the photos that we put in. We were never telling the guest to use the bathroom in any other rooms either and every guest would understand it. To add, our staff are always available when it needs whether if the guests have a problem or any requests and we will be happy to help. We have our housekeeping staff that's ready to clean your room daily. We also provide the tag to clean the room/do not disturb. We definitely assure you all these reviews are genuine based on the guest experience since we have more than 100+ reviews in every websites. Nonetheless, your input is good for us to improve our service to be even better. Thank you. Regards.

Verified reviewAmbience, cleanliness.
The mosquito net above the bed fell on its own while we were sleeping and it wasn't our fault. They've kept it in such a way that your leg will pull that thing down. Since apparently "we" broke it, they charged us 200,000 IDR even tho it would've been a cheap fix.
Dear Adhiraj, We appreciated your feedback. As you knew, we upgraded your room, two types above, from Superior to Deluxe suite, so that you could stay together in 1 bungalow with 2 other rooms you booked (standard rooms). The decorative mosquito net is already installed in our Deluxe Suite Room since we opened and we have never experienced a situation like this with other guests. Even they usually love and give compliment about. Like other properties, it's reasonable to charge if any damaged/broken things occured. We usually even give our guests opportunity to repair damaged thing or buy other items to replace it after they informed us. But in your case, you didn't tell us anything until we ourselves found it got damaged when you were on checking out process. We considered it's fair to charge accordingly as responsibility for the damage, hence, our policy to have all guests put the security deposit just in case if there's any damaged or lost items. About the amount, it's always a normal price, because we never intend to take profit from the damaged item. We always wish our guest take care of our things as we do. :)
