How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe view is breathtaking and the sunset there is amazing. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was nice and attentive.
A bit isolated but no big deal if you have a scooter.

Verified reviewBeautiful location on a cliff by the sea from where you can see dolphins while you relax in the pool and bar. The rooms are super nice, spacious and clean. Staff really friendly and helpful.
It's a little bit away from the main areas which is not an issue especially if you have a scooter, but the track to get there is a bit sketchy if it's wet. Looks like they are in the process of paving it though (June 2025).

Verified reviewAmazing location, beautiful garden and wonderful staff. So peaceful and rejuvenating! Blessed to see dolphins several times and extraordinary snorkling is only a short walk away. The road to the property requires a slow careful pace on the scooter, but local taxis can be used instead. Highly recommend!

Verified reviewThe views are amazing, one can see Mt Agung on Bali over the Badung Straight, a lot of dolphins, the occasional sea turtle, birds and about twenty species of butterflies. Good air-conditioning. Friendly staff (Wayan). Nice little pool.
It is really an "eco-style" accommodation. Wooden cabins that let constantly mosquitos in. Toilet breaking all the time (not flushing), hot water close to none, wash basin draining on your feet to the pebble floor, shower floor also made of pebbles which can't be cleaned.

Verified reviewI really would not recommend this property. It did have a great view, good wifi and kind staff but that’s all.
Unfortunately we did not enjoy our time at The Edge at all. I’ve never written a review like this before but we were so glad to leave. We went in wet season and booked and paid for 4 nights but left after 3 nights because we were so uncomfortable. The location is very far away from the main area of Nusa Lembongan and the road into The Edge is literally falling apart. After we had some rain it was so dangerous to drive down the road as it’s covered in slippery mud and loose stones. There are 3 cabins on the property so it’s very quiet. The cabins are falling apart, they are not clean or comfortable. We did not have hot water and had to have cold showers. On our second night there was a storm, part of the roof was banging loudly and water was leaking from the ceiling causing the floor to be very wet. Luckily there was no one staying in the cabin next to us and we were able to move at 9pm and sleep in a dry room, which did have hot water. There are mozzies everywhere in the room as there are gaps in the cabins. The bathroom is partly outdoors so it got very wet and damp after rain. The shower had pebbles all on the floor so it’s not able to be cleaned properly. The sink does not drain it literally just drips the water below wetting your feet every time you use it. The towels provided were clean but stained and thin. The breakfast was slow and not enjoyable. The tea cups were dirty and the banana pancakes were thin tasteless crepes with 2 small slices on banana. I’m sorry to the staff who will read this poor review, I just wish I read an honest review like this one before I booked.

Verified reviewThis property was wonderful for a “couple”. It’s romantic and cute traditional little Bali villas on the edge of the island. There’s only three villas which I didn’t realize on booking and since traveling alone wasn’t exactly what I wanted. However you are literally on the point overlooking the ocean with a view of it from every villa. The pool area is so nice and amazing over looking the ocean with tons a dolphins. The ac worked okay and the room was very clean and the place overall for the value is honestly great.
The location is soooo far from town and the roads are complicated a little bit difficult getting to the place, and very very rough dirt roads on top of that. There’s no restaurant and the staff onsite really couldn’t help with anything like questions or recommendations. The AC didn’t work very well either. But the value for the spot was great for what you get if a view of the ocean and being in a quiet place is important to you.

Verified reviewStunning location looking over the ocean- felt like we were in the Mediterranean. Lovely breakfast, friendly staff and a very relaxing and quiet place to stay.
The gravel road to get here was very bumpy and it was a bit of a rough scooter ride coming to and from the accommodation! But we got used to it!
