Pool needed chlorination. Cottages share a wall so you can hear the people next door in the bathroom. Slippery bathroom floor. No safe, but a lockable drawer provided. Nearest swimming/snorkelling beach is a fair distance away.

Wonderful, friendly and helpful family-run business. Always hospitable and ready to help with transport and bookings. Breakfast was very good. Charming cottage and grounds. Good restaurants nearby. Quieter and more relaxing than Bali. Simple but sufficient accommodation.

Location & Staff were amazing, very accomodating and would do anything to make your stay comfortable. The bathrooms in 5 of the cottages needed a little bit of love but didn’t dwell on our overall stay. Would recommend The Box Paradise Cottage to anyone looking for very reasonable priced accommodation in Penida.

Location was not ideal. The best beach clubs and restaurants are not in a walk distance. You need a taxi or scooter. Noise was not good as well. I could hear scooters passing by at night, and there was a dog barking a lot every day at 3:00am.

Bali style bathroom. Cabana has a good size, and the breakfast was good also. A la carte style, you have to choose want do you want to eat for breakfast the night before. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Its relative central but this comes with a bit of street noises. And bungalows are not very noise canceled.

It's a lovely little villa and I loved the hospitality of the staff. Nice added touch with the private outdoor bathrooms for each room! Was also very easy to organise a motorbike for travel plus taxis from the port.

The walls are as if they were made of paper. You can hear almost everything going around you: barking stray dogs all night, scooters and trucks even one street away, the noisy outdoor unit of AC, basically everybody speaking nearby, the neighbors. Also the photos give a better impression than what it is in real life. Don't get me wrong it still looks pretty, but the land area with the given number of Bungalows is way too packed. This place is definitely not 4 ⭐(as shown on booking.com), hence my 7 score rating.

The staff was nice and helpful. The pool is also good to have as nearby there are not many swim beaches. Room looks good, as well as the bathroom is nice.

The design of the room means the aircon isn't very effective which was a struggle! The area is also quite noisy so our sleep wasn't the best.

Cute little spot for a good price. Bed was comfortable and the pool was lovely. Really close to the beach and some good cafes within walking distance.

The sorroundsdings were not as good as hoped for. So best be prpared to get Scooter and drive around the island. Something to mention is that the bathroom gets very hot during the day since the sun shines directly onto the toilet. Not very pleasant if you go to the bathroom from your climatised room.

In general the location was really nice. We had nice breakfast, the pancakes were amazing and the staff was very helpful.

If you don’t like bugs and other insects then this isn’t the place for you. The shower is half open which freaked me out when I had to use the toilet during the night. The toilet is positioned so close to the shower that I couldn’t comfortably sit on it. Although this property was on a quiet street, the neighbouring street was a main road, so we could hear all the traffic.

Looks beautiful from the outside and friendly staff. Family run business, so they were very helpful.

Rocks in the shower could get some cleaning. Sometimes you could experience problems with a hot water and good pressure in the shower.
