Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Just a gem of a place in Munduk. Only stayed one night but owner and staff work so hard to make everything perfect. Lovely garden which provided fruits for a great breakfast and Wayan gave us a very informative tour of his plants/trees.

What a wonderful experience!!! Wayan and his wife are incredibly kind and caring. They prepare amazing breakfasts and dinners for you. Wayan also offers excursions and tours: waterfalls, temples, jungle trekking… My wife, my two daughters, and I will keep unforgettable memories of the three days we spent with them!

United StatesThe only concern would be the location on a very busy road. Those on motorclycles seemed to take great joy in revving their engines and racing along the roadway. This was quite discomforting and outright anoying at times. It is unfortunate as this would be a first rate experience otherwise.
The owners were exceptional and could not do enough for us. They attended to every perceived need. They provided transportation at no or reasonable cost when needed. The meals were quite good and well presented. The room was modern, up to date, and exceptionally clean. The view of the mountains and adjacent rice fields were lovely.

Aroma Villa is more than just beautiful, clean, and comfortable accommodation with delicious and varied meals prepared from local ingredients according to your wishes… It is the pampering care of the owners, not who, with their genuine sincerity, do everything they can to make sure you are satisfied and enjoy your stay. We spent five days here, and this time will be among our most favorite stays. The owner, Wayan, took us around the area every day, introducing us not only to local tourist attractions but also to Balinese culture and philosophy. One morning, we spent trekking through waterfalls; the next day, we walked through the jungle around the lakes. On the third day, he showed us the local landscape, rice fields, the Lovina area, and also took us to a temple and hot spring baths. Finally, he even drove us to the other side of the island, where we had booked our next accommodation. All of this was done in a very comfortable manner—there was never any rush, unlike commercial paid tours—and for an incredibly low price. We arrived as guests and left as friends. We felt at home, and if we ever get the chance to return to Bali, it will definitely be to Aroma Villa in Munduk.

AustraliaThis was such a wonderful stay. Wayan and his wife Komang were so kind and attentive to us. We had such healthy and delicious food sourced locally and cooked by Komang. She even catered very graciously to our tricky dietary requirements (gluten free and vegetarian). They have a beautiful (tended to) garden with fruits and herbs which we enjoyed eating at breakfast. And we ate the most delicious 3 month old rice (without pesticides) from their family’s surrounding rice paddies most nights for dinner with our delicious food. Wayan was so helpful in helping us see and understand Munduk and tended to our every need. Our room was so clean and comfortable. And the sparkling and clean pool was an extra treat. Munduk itself has beautiful waterfalls and surroundings and a lot to see. We were in rest mode so were very happy to spend most of our time relaxing at the accommodation.

RomaniaWe had a wonderful time at the villa. The hosts are such a wonderful people, very friendly. They welcomed us with a cold young coconut and here we had for dinner the best fried noodles in bali, you must try it! The breakfast is also delicious. The host arranged a local driver to take us to the next location and we stopped on the way to see few beautiful waterfalls. You also have the option to rent a motorbike. Amazing view from the room, very clean and tidy. Highly recommend to stay here.

BelgiumVery friendly and helpful host. We had a super nice breakfast and diner included in the price. High recommendation to eat at the Aroma Villa and not go to a restaurant. The host has many fruits and herbs in his garden and is enthusiastic to explain how they grow if you ask. The venue has a new scooter you can use so no need to book elsewhere. Munduk is probably the most underestimated region in Bali. Extreme beautiful nature, many large waterfalls and the walk from one waterfall to the next can count for a nice jungletrekking. A MUST SEE area on Bali. Not very touristic yet. High recommendation to stay at the Aroma Villa.

AustraliaIt is Bali..... so the traffic can be a little noisy but it settles well at night and the villas are at the back of the property.
From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty by Wayan and Numan. They both went out of their way to make sure our stay was incredibly relaxing. Wayan organised a driver for us to take us around to a local waterfall, hot springs and a buddhist temple. Our driver even found us a lovely local warung on the water for lunch at Lovina. The food prepared by Wayan and Numas was exceptional, and always included local specialities made from fruits and vegetables in their garden. The view from the villa and the pool was lovely, looking over the rice paddies to the mountain.

New ZealandAroma Villa Munduk has clean, spacious rooms, a large pool, and great views over paddy fields to the mountains, but what sets this place apart are the incredible family that own and run the accommodation. It is clear from the moment you arrive that Wayan and his family are determined to ensure that your stay here is as good as it can possibly be. The care that goes into the preparation of every meal is extraordinary, and nothing is too much trouble. You will not find better hosts anywhere.

BelgiumVery kind and friendly owners, ready to help with anything the guests need. The area where the proprety is located is very peaceful but still close to many things to visit such as less-crowded waterfalls, temples and even a hot spring. Rental of a scooter can be done on location. Recommend this accomodation if travelling in the vicinity of Munduk.

AustraliaThe owners Wayan and Komang were the perfect hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Komang was an amazing cook, and the generous sized meals were flavoured with local cuisine and pride. Wayan was incredibly generous and took great pride in showing us around his much loved and beautiful Munduk. The accommodation was spacious and clean, which overlooked the mountains and neighbouring rice fields. Watching the neighbours work their fields was a real treat. It was special having the frogs in the rice fields serenading us to sleep. Cannot speak more highly of Wayan and Komang and the little homestay experience.

GermanyEverything was great!
The Aroma Villa Munduk is a hidden gem in the north of Bali. If you are looking for a more authentic experience of Bali with the most attentive and caring host then the Aroma Villa Munduk is the place for you. Wayan is running this place with a lot of passion and an exceptional focus on the happiness of his guests. I felt like there was nothing I could not ask for or nothing he wouldn’t have a good solution for. I was taken on several tours and they were all great, individual and most importantly serene - not packed with hundreds of other tourists as is often the case in the south of Bali. Wayan and his team prepared delicious breakfasts and dinners with local produce and would always take some extra time to explain what they were serving. The view from the room right into the lush green rice fields and the rolling hills in the background was absolutely beautiful and calming. Yes, there is a nearby road, as some other reviews have mentioned, but it didn’t bother me much and I could respect it as the lifeline of the village. I walked on that road to one of the little supermarkets in the village and was greeted by friendly faces and accompanied by a group of curious, sweet kids. Truly - when I will think back to my time in Bali and will tell my family and friends about it, my time in Munduk will be one of the first things to mention. I am so happy I ventured north for this unique experience as it contributed to a much deeper understanding of what Bali is really about, aside from places like Canggu and Ubud.

FranceThe Aroma Villa just has the best view, the nicest owner and really good food. We were here for only one night, we strongly recommend more. The fruits you are served when you arrived and at breakfast are fresh from the garden and incredibly tasty. The room is big, very clean and tidy. The owner is really helpful and will make everything for you to have the best stay! His brother in law became our guide to the waterfalls and our driver for our next two long drive in Ubud/Bali. He was so sweet and very helpful with us, talking about traditions, religions and culture. We also deeply recommend him if you need a drive from/to Ubud to reach Aroma Villa.
