How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewOur stay here was truly amazing. The room was beautiful and very spacious, with everything we needed. The staff at the hotel were incredibly kind and welcoming – their hospitality was outstanding, and we felt cared for immediately. Honestly, it felt like staying with family. The restaurant was another highlight. The food was absolutely delicious, and I can only recommend trying everything on the menu – you won’t be disappointed! Everything was top quality, and the prices were very affordable. The surrounding area is stunning, and overall the atmosphere made our stay unforgettable. The mosque next door can be a little lively at times, but it didn’t take away from the wonderful experience.

Verified reviewWe had a fantastic stay at Tereng Wilis bungalows. Eddy and his family were so kind and welcoming. Our room was comfortable and clean. The view from the restaurant is stunning and the food is great too. Situated in the rice fields, it was wonderful to sit, watch and relax. Eddy took us out on a brilliant tour - we went on a walk through the rice paddies, to two waterfalls, the monkey park and to meet a family of bamboo weavers. It was a totally brilliant day and one of the highlights of our holiday. Our stay was incredible value for money. Thank you so much Eddy and family. "No rice, no power!" 😃
Everything was perfect!

Verified reviewThis place was brilliant, we really loved our stay here! It was so peaceful, quiet and just beautiful! Our room looked out onto the paddy fields which was absolutely stunning! Edy and his family were amazing hosts, they really went above and beyond. I was also really impressed with the facilities for somewhere that was in the middle of a village in the mountains - hot shower, comfy bed, lots of shelves to put your bathroom bits on, a bedside lamp. I had seen on other reviews about there only being one Hammock but they very quickly offered us a cushion to sit on as well so that wasn't an issue for us. The food was great & reasonably priced, with lots of options for dinner. Edy was super friendly and a fantastic host, he took us on a reasonably priced tour that covered the rice paddy fields, waterfalls, seeing the Javan langurs in Tetebatu monkey forest and also visiting the village's traditional craft (bamboo), it was a fantastic tour. He was very knowledgeable of the area and was able to answer most of our questions! He even took us out on a night walk one evening to look for nocturnal animals as we had chatted about wanting to do that, he will tailor the tours to suit whatever you'd like to do. Edy also suggested to us places to go for the next day that we could do ourselves which I thought was a nice touch rather than trying to push tours on us like I had read other places do. We found it quite easy chatting to Edy in the evenings and wiling away the time that way but alternatively if you're travelling in a pair or group I'd recommend trying to bring a pack of cards or some card games for the evenings. The village is very remote and quiet, other than the ones at this hotel there weren't many tourists in this part of Tetebatu but we loved that... We got to go to the "touristy" parts during our tour and then come away from there in the evenings.
One thing to note is the village is very, very quiet. There are a couple snack shops but that's about it. The roads are very bad so unless you're a very proficient scooter driver riding round on a scooter in this part of Tetebatu isn't recommended. But there is a waterfall/monkey forest that is walkable to (about 20 mins). However we really liked that it was really quiet as it didn't feel very touristy, so I wouldn't say this is a fault for us just something to note depending on if nearby amenities/road infrastructure are important to you. The other downside (this is in no way a fault on the homestay as they can't control this) is the prayer to call every morning at 4-5am was so loud. I had ear plugs but even they weren't enough! Maybe if you have industrial ones (like Loop ones) they might work better though. It only lasts about 20-30 mins and then you can go back to sleep. Though on the morning we were checking out it was quieter and I could actually sleep through it with ear plugs so maybe it is dependent on the singer. But I read lots of reviews for different homestays/hotels in the area and the loud morning call to prayer seems to be a common theme as there are many mosques all throughout the villages so I wouldn't use that as a point for not picking here, just something to be prepared for!

Verified reviewWe recommend this area if you’re renting a scooter (the host offers the best prices—we compared). We also booked a cooking class and transport to our next destination through him. The family is really kind, and the view are beautiful. We had our best stay in this part of Lombok. We encourage you to explore the small villages around Tetebatu.
The only downside is the Wi-Fi, but that’s normal in this part of the island.

Verified reviewTereng Willis Bungalow has been an excellent experience, so much so that I came back for a second time, and this time I stayed for almost 3 weeks. I truly feel at home here, and it's hard to be objective because I now consider the people here my friends. I recommend it 100% for the local experience, the quality of service, and above all, the human warmth. The surrounding landscape is also breathtaking, making it the perfect complement to the hospitality of this place. Without a doubt, it’s a place I will keep returning to.
