Our stay at Tangkoko Ranger Homestay was excellent. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, equipped with air conditioning, and the buffet-style breakfast was tasty. What stood out the most was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and the owner. After finding our original accommodation closed, we were able to get a room here spontaneously without any prior notice. The best part of this homestay is the location: directly opposite the entrance to the national park and close to several restaurants. We booked both a morning and an evening tour through the homestay and had our own private guide, ET. He was very respectful towards the animals, which truly impressed us, and still managed to show us everything we had hoped to see. On top of that, he was kind, knowledgeable, and made the tours a great experience. We can highly recommend staying here, especially for visiting Tangkoko National Park.

One room had no glass in the window, just slanted planks, so the airconditioning didn't really help as cold air would just escape.

The location is great, right across the entrance to the park and a restaurant. The rooms are good, staff is friendly and can arrange guides for visiting the park.

Rooms a bit old, shower pressure was low, and no hot water, but I believe that’s what you get almost everywhere so I wouldn’t criticize much.

Cute homestay just in front of the National park entrance. Beautiful gardens and common area where they serve breakfast. Rooms are ok, and staff was really helpful.

As with any budget form of accomodation there are things that could be better such as a hot shower, somewhere to hang your clothes etc but in the scheme of things it’s not that important.

The water pressure of the shower is way too low. Took a long time to rinse soap off! As it is a budget homestay, guests should be realistic with their expectations e g. Basic room and breakfast. Would be good if there is an upfront price list of all activities for guests, including laundry and massage services which they've kindly arranged at our request.

Location opposite the park entrance. Enthusiastic guides Yunos and Saca. Very knowledgeable about birds. Good at spotting the elusive cuscus and tarsier too. Friendly service staff Yolan, Stephanie and driver Uri. Convenient access to Eateria facing the homestay that is run by the owner's relative. The gado-gado is 'sedap' (tasty)! Enjoyed attending the owner's son's first birthday party. Fun watching the guests sing and dance.

Water is cold there which is normally not an issue. Breakfast was a bit slow to be available in early morning and portions not plentiful.

The place is perfect for naturalist enthusiast, being super close to the national park. The room was comfortable enough for me even if a few additional furniture would help Alfrets helped me set up my days with local guides to look for specific birds.

Our stay here was lovely. Being just across from the National park entrance was great to be able explore the area. We booked a tour with one of the homestay rangers, Et, who was really excellent and found lots of native animals during our full day tour. He had a great telescope which we used to observe the animals from afar. This was definitely the highlight! The rooms were basic but functional and clean with good aircon. Overall had a great time.

The homestay is located just in front of the entrance of the natural reserve. Tours can be booked directly from the homestay. The room and bathroom were clean. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is below average (an average nasi goreng, pancakes, banana, coffee, tea, juice,...). The restaurant offers blend food, but it does the job.

We loved the proximity to the park entrance which was literally across the road. The staff were friendly and attentive. Shout out for providing a water cooler in the shared area to avoid wasting plastic bottles!

Located right by the entrance to Batu Putih Narure Reserve. Really kind family making sure you are comfortable. They have a small restaurant across the street and they provide guides to the jungle. We were well taken care of and we can recommend to stay here!

Main issue was with the guide they initially booked for us. Had booked weeks before. On day of arrival, we were told that a senior guide, Yunus, would be taking us at 6am the following day. We got ready on time and then waited. When no guide turned up, we enquired and got various stories. Eventually, it turned out he was not coming and another guide, Et, came along. He was excellent, knowledgeable about the animals and work hard to make sure we saw all the animals, amazing. I would just suggest if they say the guide will be Yunus to be concerned and perhaps ask for another guide.

Staff were helpful. Place was quite simple but that is reflected in the price. Very close to the nature reserve, right across the road in fact.

Situated just next to the entrance of the park. It is clean, well maintained and comfortable. Rooms have a little porch and there is common space where you can hang around as well. Staff is nice.

Not really a downside, but the tour booked through the accomodation was short and we didn't venture very far into the national park, since we came across Tarsiers close to the entrance (amazing for 99% of people). However we were hoping to do some decent walking into the jungle.

Great location across the road from the national park, and within close walking distance to the beach (approx. 5mins walk). Staff were friendly and restaurant across the road (part of the accomodation) was delicious. A good option for visitng Tangkoko.

I write this review to make an special mention to my guide called ET, he is professional, worker, nice and the most important thing, you can feel that he loves his job. He has good knowlodges about nature, and he also has a useful tripod that he brings everywhere to make good pictures about wildlife in the tour. See you soon Et, nice to meet you bro! Besides, this homestay, it is clean, confortable and with nice staff.

When we ate a breakfast later than people going on a trip at 6am, everything was cold and there was almost nothing to choose from. We were also disappointed with the ordered transportation to the airport. We asked for the car at the specific time two days before and asked later few times for the confirmation. At the agreed time there was no car, we asked few times about the transport and only got the responses that the car was on the way and would be in 10 minutes. After 25 minutes waiting I had to ask again but then it turned out that the owner went out and he was the only point of contact with a driver. Finally the driver came with 30 minutes delay and we had to pay more for going on the highway to make it on time.

Nice and clean room with affordable price. breakfast was okay with fresh fruits and sweet and sour option. Great trekking in the park with very nice guides.
