How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewNext to the beach (with very nice view, especially at sunset time) peaceful, comfortable beds, staff very helpful (drove us to the port at 5:30am !) and cute dogs
No hot shower and the wifi is not accessible everywhere (especially in the rooms far from the entrance). A bit hard to find and to access (the staff explains you how to access the location beforehand, so don’t follow instructions on google maps)

Verified reviewThe staff were very friendly and helpful. They come to find us when we were lost, organised taxis for us and cooked a meal for us even though the restaurant seemed to be closed. A very private and picturesque setting if you want something off the beaten track. Excellent value for money.
The roads to access the property are not designed for cars and the journey can feel quite precarious and frightening in the dark. Our taxi driver struggled to find the location even with the instructions from the owner and even locals did not seem to know where it was. They would benefit from sharing a What Three Words location or updating Google Maps. Room facilities were very basic and there was no running water when we first arrived, though staff did quickly fix this. Basic facilities are reflected fairly in the low price.

Verified reviewAndy picked us up after we got lost and random local helped us. Good place if you want to get lost from everything
DO NOT EAT in their restaurant, we got food poisoning!! Also rooms are terrible, you take cold, old water showers with cockroaches and sleep with ants in bed. No AC, just a fan which looks like it will fall on you soon. At 4 am the whole city wakes up and prays - no sleep for you (+ their dog barks at night together with the cock). Ps: AVOID LEMBAR AT ALL COSTS, GRAB WILL NOT WORK, THEY ARE ALL SCAMMERS.
you are just a cheap guest, cost we show you eaten rotten fruits before you order from our kitchen, that rotten fruits you have eat probably you buy from view days ago. you lucky we pick you up without paying a cent, there's no guest complaint about the room and the food, which is only you, we have room with ac, but you choose with fan because you can't afford to pay it. so hope you don't eat rotten fruit while you are on Holliday.

Verified reviewThe location is lost in the middle of nowhere, after one month in the city not a sound at night was the most beautiful thing I ever had, the place is a little bit hard to find but once you're on the good road you just have to follow it till the end, hahahaha . In the middle of the mangrove it's super nice and fresh your literally on the black beach with nobody the beach is just for you it's amazing.
No free water but you can totally go buy some and then your good, food a little expensive but iland price so even that is ok

Verified reviewWe cycled from the port, and we followed Andy's instructions and found the correct lane no problem at all. It is remote, but we are here for an adventure. We loved discovering this remote corner. This is 2 star accommodation with a 5 star welcome. We loved chatting to Andy and his wife. Excellent value for money.
There was nothing we did not like.

Verified reviewReally enjoyed my stay in the little bungalow here. The owner is super lovely and made me feel so at home. Its a little out of the way which is what I loved about it. If you follow her Whatsapp directions alllll the way to the end of the path you will find it no problem!

Verified reviewThe remoteness of the location makes you feel like you are on the edge of the world! In the evening you can watch the sunset from the terras on the beach.
It is a bit hard to reach. The accommodation can provide a taxi for you. However if you want to leave by yourself later you dependent on the accommodation to provide transport. Otherwise it is a 1 hour walk back to a rural area.

Verified reviewI did like leaving this place. Lady and driver was nice to talk to but that's it.
Location is very bad. We had big issue to get to the place. We arrive in Lembar at evening / night and getting to accomodation was big hussle. Place itself is okay, but breakfast was very small and overpriced - Omelet from 2 eggs for 4 $, no toast with it, just plain omelet. Water from tap and shower is salty. If some people don't like animal abuse, i woudn't go here. They have some birds in cage in very poor condition, birds have barely some water to drink, not talking about food to eat. I saw several small death birds in other cage, like 9 or so. Horrible to see. Other big bird is whining from early morning from the cage. Which is not only really disturbing but it make me sad as well. Also Lembar is not tourstic place at all. Feels like there was nice places around but very hard to get there and taxi charging way more than in Bali. Overall one of our worst stay in Indonesia, we arrive in Lombok that day and thinking about leaving straight away.

Verified reviewWe hired a canoe from the owner and paddled to the Gili islands for snorkeling. The location on the beach is great.
It was extremely difficult to find the property. Google maps shows the wrong route. Drive to Pantai Cremare and from there to the property.
Thank you for the review

Verified reviewThe place was ok. The owners tried their best to make something nice from the place. The owner (the man) was very friendly to help us, when we struggled to get to the place and he even offered us his car.
Place was hiding, not easy to find with your own car. No signs HOW to get there. Even no locals know where the place was. I've tried to call them several time and send them a whatsapp to tell them I ONLY need the shower, and booked 1 room for 6 (NOT to stay), because our boat from Lombok to Labuan Bajo was delayed with 6 hours, but no answer 😞. After searching for more than 1 hour and meeting the owner, he was ok by the idea. We didn't want to go there anymore because we were tired of searching, but went to the place because my 16yrs old son likde the man. I've been calling by I think the owner's wive, who was very rude on the phone. More when we get to the place. The staffs weren't friendly for Indonesian people. Maybe because we were "just locals". She even call me a liar when I told her how many time I had trying to contact them. I showed her the number I've been trying to contact which was the number of the man who already told me he didn't use that much more. Even then, she doesn't offered me her apology. I've been travelling around the world in all continents (except Alaska 😀), but this was "not done". She only talked about rules. YES I agree we all need to follow them, but in my own country I ALWAYS have agreements with the owners or the "responsible person" at that time. She even told me not to explain more, when I told her that. I could exploded, but keep on smiling on her rudeness. She told me that I must be thankful because I got an upgrade because the "cheap room" (as she says it), was in renovation. I turn my face from her and went to the "expensive room", with no drinkwater and open bathroom with no bathstuffs, only 2 towels. My son need to wait 5min before he could take a shower because there was no water so I talk a bit loud to him so they heared me. Then it was MY turn to take a shower. Same problem.
Thank you.

Verified reviewSunset Hidaway. The perfect name, as we never were able to find it. We booked a room at this place while on the ferry coming from Bali. Arrived at the Lembar ferry terminal and off the ferry at 430 in the afternoon. Spent the next 2 plus hours trying both Google maps and Waze. Each had a location 4 kilometers apart from the other. We had three different local people trying to help us find this place. Never did find it. It was getting dark and those roads in that area are very bad so we finally had to give up and go to Mattsram. Still not sure the place even exists.
The location was impossible to find on either Waze or Google Maps. The locals were unable to help.
