Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Senggigi's Sunsethouse was a little hidden gem. I say "hidden" because it's tidily tucked away so neatly that our driver initially drove past the entrance. Once inside, the garden opens to a majestic seaside vista that offers unimpeded views of the famous Senggigi sunsets. Hence, the name of the resort. Our room was a most pleasant surprise. The double doors in our first-floor room opened to a private balcony that not only overlooked the lovely 20-metre pool, but also the broad, uninterrupted ocean views. A simple cooked breakfast was included in the package. The surrounding area is dotted with various resorts, restaurants and warungs, so there's no shortage of great places to eat. We also were able to find a couple of Sports Bars to watch our Australian football & rugby matches. De Upper Deck is a short 400m stroll away from Sunsethouse, whereas the popular Osceana Sports Bar is about 1km further down the main road. Senggigi offers a much quieter, more relaxed experience than the bustling tourist scene of Kuta, Lombok (one hour south-east of Senggigi). Some people might find the black sand on the Senggigi beaches a bit off-putting, but at least this stretch of coast is mostly calm & safe for swimming. We were most impressed with the openness of our room. The king-size bed was comfy. The simple furnishings were adequate, too. The bathroom was nice and roomy and this aspect also helped make our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. Sunsethouse seems to run a skeleton staff until lunchtime, but all staff members are helpful and attentive. If we revisit Lombok in the not-too-distant future, we'll definitely stay on the Senggigi side.

United KingdomIt is a massive shame that Sunsethouse house is currently sandwiched between two building sites - damaged hotels on either side that are being renovated. With foresight we wouldn't have chosen to stay at Sunsethouse for this reason. The noise did impact our enjoyment.
Sunsethouse was surprisingly lovely. Surprising because in driving into Senggigi along the main street and then being dropped off at the front of Sunsethouse, everything looked very underwhelming. But once through to the room and the beach side of the hotel, it was lovely. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The pool was lovely; very friendly staff, and nice seated areas in the garden looking out on to the beach. The location of Sunsethouse versus the main stretch of Sengiggi is much more preferable and makes for a more relaxing stay. We chose it for a last few days of downtime.

United KingdomSome of the photos on Booking.com are out of date - the resort is much smaller now (as some other reviewers have noted). This didn't affect my enjoyment of my stay, but it would be good to get it updated so it's accurate. Would be good to have a safety deposit box in the room, but it felt quite safe there so wasn't a big issue. Would be good to have some more places to hang things up to dry e.g. towels and bathing suits. This wasn't a problem, but would be a nice improvement especially for people staying there for a few days.
Sunsethouse is a nice, small hotel right on the beach. The staff were friendly, and the room was nice - great to have a hot water shower, and the option of a bath. It is right on the beach for sunset views, with a couple of nice bars/restaurants along the beach. There is also a minimart with ATM just down the road, which is handy. Really friendly staff, and a nice peaceful place to rest and relax. I didn't use the swimming pool, but it looked really nice.

HungaryCompared to the pictures already run-down. No life in the neighborhood. Food pictures are also far away from the facts. Infortunately there are no international TV channeles only smart TV. It is not their fault, but there is an ongoing construction work next by with drilling whole day.
Basically nice location direct at the seaside, good sunning bungalows, pool, store close by. Safe and big screen TV. I liked the huge teracce. Kind personal.

United Kingdomtoo many beach sellers so couldn't relax by the pool. No wine available when I requested this or offer of room service. At this price I would expect there to be both a menu in the room and wines to be available when advertised.

IndonesiaI recently stayed at this hotel and had an exceptional experience. The location is absolutely perfect, offering a peaceful and quiet atmosphere that made my stay incredibly relaxing. The rooms are spacious and equipped with all the amenities you could need, ensuring a comfortable stay. The hotel is well-maintained, with daily cleaning that kept everything spotless. One of the highlights for me was the beautiful garden and direct access to the beach. It was the perfect spot to watch the sunset and listen to the soothing sound of the waves. The tranquil environment truly made it feel like a getaway. The staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to help. A special mention to the manager, who was very professional. I encountered an issue with a car company, and she handled it calmly and efficiently, doing everything she could to resolve the situation. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a serene and enjoyable stay with excellent service.

NetherlandsNeighbours were building their beachhouse. This made a lot of noice, whole day. When I liked to relaxe during breakfast or later in the day at the swimmingpool. Private beachside had often a lot of carbage from the sea. They sprayed huge amount of muskito poison in the garden when i was also in the area. This felt very bad for my health.
My room was very nice. Kingsize bad, good mirriors, large and nice bathroom and room. Personal was very kind and helpfull.

AustraliaRest of resort is rundown. Bathroom soap and shampoo dispensers was filled with water. Had to ask reception for extra toilet paper. Unsealed bottle of water in room tasted terrible. Very little lighting in room. Shower was stop start. Ran out of water everytime, and took 5min for running water to return. Bar only served Normal Bintang, vodka and tequila. Other hard liquor bottles on display was not for use. Was told to buy the whole bottle! Margarita pizza tasted and looked like something from a box or freezer. So went to a nearby restaurant every day. Beach was not clean. Plastic cups and rubbish on beach front. Water feature that ran around the breakfast area was dirty, full of green slime and some oily substance floating on top. Was told there is no pillows for pool lounge chairs. We walked around and found heaps under a gazebo at the back. Not clean, but better than lying on hot plastic chairs. Top deck viewing platform not well maintained. Staff was not around, had to go look for someone if you needed anyting. Electric wiring exposed behind bar and around resort. Not safe. I will not recommend this resort or return. We ended up just sleeping here. Spend our time at Alberts cafe that a pool, great service and great food. And night time at La Chill Bar. Awesome staff, cocktails and food.
Room was clean, pool was well looked after. Gardens was in excellent condition.

United KingdomWe came to Lombok for 4 nights after a week in Bali and this was by far our favourite accommodation. The staff (especially the bar tender who we became friends with) are exceptional. The cleaners are great, the rooms are great, the view is amazing and the balcony leading to the pool was incredible. We’d definitely be coming here again if we ever return to Lombok - it was perfect.
