United StatesThis was written by ChatGpt but with my inputs. I recently stayed at this hotel for 8 days and was truly impressed by the level of hospitality. The staff here are absolutely wonderful — friendly, attentive, and always going above and beyond to make sure guests feel welcome. During my stay, I had an issue with the air conditioning in my first room not getting cold. Without hesitation, the team quickly moved me to another room where the AC worked perfectly. This kind of prompt, no-questions-asked service really stood out and made me feel valued as a guest. The rooms themselves were very spacious and comfortable, making it easy to relax after a long day. While the hotel is visually appealing and well-designed, up close you can see signs of age such as small chips and cracks. Additionally, the shower head in my room had some calcium buildup, which caused the spray to go in a few odd directions. These are minor issues and in no way overshadowed my overall experience. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would gladly return. Between the amazing staff, great service, and comfortable rooms, I can easily recommend this hotel. Rating: 9.5/10

Czech RepublicThe bedding was dirty, it was impossible to tell if someone had slept in it or if it was just washed at a low temperature. It was strange because the towels were clean and fluffy. Overall, even the glass surfaces everywhere in the hotel were poorly cleaned. It's a shame because otherwise the hotel is really very nice and the staff are nice, including the cleaning boys. The second problem with this hotel is the inconsistent quality of the food. On the first evening, the dinner was good, but the cheese was forgotten in the Greek salad, which was brought to us in a small bowl and grated into a fine powder after warning. Perhaps it would be better not to offer this salad to Europeans and not get into this situation. Less is sometimes more. The next day at dinner the food was significantly worse and the cesar salad contained a thigh including the bone instead of chicken breast and was also undercooked. Again, we would recommend that you skip Western dishes altogether if you don't know how to prepare them. The last thing we don't understand is why does it always take so incredibly long to be served in a totally empty restaurant? And why did you always only have 3 coca colas and then they ran out. Maybe you don't know that the store is right behind the hotel, so it might be worth running out for coca cola or buying more to stock up, it won't spoil.
A wonderful hotel, really tastefully decorated. Large rooms and bathrooms, balconies with a view of the volcano and the greenery, from where the birds are calling. Comfortable bed. Large swimming pool.

I love everything about this hotel and the friendliness of the staff. Mas Bayu is an amazing GM, My husband and I are impressed with his communication skills and for sure, he can be nominated to be one of the best staff ever. I recommend you to visit this Hotel for its uniqueness, its tasty breakfast, and all dine-in menus. It's a little pricy but you will not be disappointed with the high-class and elegant services. I definitely will come back to this Sofia Boutique Residence when I visit Yogyakarta.
