Komang, Kadek and the entire family were so kind and welcoming, I really felt like part of the family. I happened to arrived on such a special day, a temple ceremony(piodalan). I asked if I could join and they let me! T’was an incredible timing and a beautiful experience I stumble into. Being welcomed by a local family makes it even more meaningful — it’s not just sightseeing, it’s sharing. If you have not planned any activities, and needed help or recommendations, just asked them they will help or arrange it for you. And they are willing to help you with anything. It was a great place to experience local culture. There is a wifi, free water, kitchen equipments,stove, refrigerator, hot shower and anything else you need just asked them, they might have. It's also a great location, down a nice quiet street, walking distance to the centre atleast 20mins walk for my pace. And it’s really quiet at night.

Very beautiful homestay, the private rooms are in the back of the property of the super nice family with a Terrasse in the front and jungle. You can find some quiet time from noisy ubud for a very fair price. Komang and his family are very helpful and you get insights into their life’s. If you are not looking for party but having an authentic experience that’s the place to go.

The road is not easy but worth it, really. At first you will be confused where is the place, but the owner, Pak Komang is the best path direction.

Sila Urip is that kind of place in which you arrive as a guest, and you leave as a family member. The owners, Komang and Kadek, a married couple, are just the more kind and exquisite people I have found in almost three months of moving around living the Bali experience. We ate together, had laughs, spoke about balinese life and traditions, they suggested me the best places nearby to find fruit or anything I needed at the best prices, and when I left for few days to visit Gili Trawangan, they allowed me to leave my rented scooter at their place to be safe. The bed in the dorm is super comfortable and the room is soundproof, so you can sleep nice and easy and with AC. Bathrooms are clean and functional. Right outside the dorm there is a common kitchen with fridge you can use and a porch where you can chill while having a coffee or journaling or listening to music while admiring the lush Mother Nature that extends in all its beauty, with fruit trees, flowers and birds chirping. They also have good private rooms if you prefer this option. And almost no moschitos! Plus, if you are interested in cultures, the whole place is a converted traditional balinese house, so you can actually see how it was structured in different buildings, each one with its own purpose. I was also allowed to join them in the offerings in their family temple. They are indeed very good people, one in a million, and thanks to them my time in Ubud was just marvelous. I went to "Sila Urip Guest House" by bicycle from the airport. Normally check-in is after 14:00,but I checked in at 10am when I arrived. I was able to enjoy for 7 days-Adventure in jungle. I was tired every day, but I was energetic every morning. Because "Sila Urip Guest House" have cheerful,friendly,quiet at night,wide bed,Air conditioner,fresh water. One night, it rained heavily,In the morning, my bicycle was moved. They moved my bike so it wouldn't get wet. Thank you very much.

If it weren't for the carpet beetle infestation I would have stayed at the homestay for 1 week, it was a shame, please take care of this infestation, which is simple to control. And I couldn't turn on the hot water in the shower, I struggled a bit to take a shower, because it was very cool at night.

The location is perfect, in the heart of Ubud, a beautiful place, with unparalleled peace, just a few meters from the busy streets, but without the noise to sleep. The mattress is very comfortable. The host is kind and accepted my request to vacuum the mattress to remove some of the carpet beetle infestation, which made my night a little better. The breakfast, at an extra cost, was wonderful. **By the way, carpet beetles were something I found in many hostels in Indonesia, which is a shame. I work in animal health, so I was able to identify them.

What bothered me was the damp and moldy smell in the room. It was pretty intense. Bed was very creaky.

It’s a lovely place to stay. If you are looking for something more relaxing it’s perfect. They help me with everything. I have a problem with my motorbike and they help me to take to the mechanic. Everything was so clean If I come back I will choose this place again.

Very spacious and comfortable beds in the dorm! AC works very well, showers not the best, but still ok. The hosts were super welcoming. The accommodation is still located quite close to Ubud centre, but in a quiet neighbourhood with a lot of green around.

If you dont have a motorbike, it is a bit far from Ubud Center (Ubud Market etc). Takes about 30 minutes walk.

The room is spacious and well air-conditioned, the hosts live next door and are super lovely. You'll definitely get to experience the Indonesian hospitality here. All our favorite restaurants, as well as the monkey forest, were within walking distance.

The bed mattress sags making it uncomfortable to sleep on. Some guests (that guy who's waiting for his Australian work-holiday visa) have no shame having s e x on the top bunk bed waking me up in the middle of the sleep. Toilet is not clean.
