How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWhat an incredible location! Lovely family run place, with amazing private rooms, spending time living in the open. Loved the Tokays in the room too (big Geckos)
That we'd only booked one night before heading to the chaos of Ubud

Verified reviewYou’re looking for a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature, where you can truly disconnect from the chaos of everyday life, this is the place. It’s remote, yes — but that’s part of the charm. No traffic, no noise — just the sounds of the river and the occasional frog and gecko.

Verified reviewLovely setting. Quiet, calming and great for those wanting to relax and unwind. Staff were accommodating, friendly and most helpful. Breakfast was great. Loved watching the monkeys play in the day and firefly watching at night
Maybe a better curtain for sliding door for extra privacy.

Verified reviewThe room and view was beautiful. I enjoyed the (very) cold plunge pool to refresh. Quiet relaxing location. Nice to be away from the hustle and bustle. Staff were very accommodating and were easy to access via WhatsApp with any questions/to place the breakfast order etc. WIFI was great. Breakfast was delicious and the staff recommended a nice restaurant a short walk away for dinner. View of Mt Agung as you enter the property was stunning. Can view Mt Agung whilst going for a walk. View from property is of lush greenery over the river down below and onto the rice fields on the other side of the river. There was no door to front the property - but there was a big heavy duty blind that you could pull down which closed the room. Nice to be part of nature and have the blind open during the day. No issues for me but some people may not like this.
No door on the bathroom/toilet, can see toilet directly from the bed.

Verified reviewBeautiful view from the room. Nice outdoor shower. Respect for privacy.
• Lack of professionalism: Upon arrival, we were mistakenly placed in the wrong villa. Mistakes happen, but during check-out at 12:05, one of the staff members rudely asked us to leave immediately, not even allowing us to wait for our taxi. He claimed he had to prepare the room — but honestly, would 10 more minutes really make a difference, especially when check-in is only at 2:00 PM? • Lack of equipment: There was no hair dryer at first — we were told it was broken. Only after insisting did they bring us one. There was no hand soap either; the villa owner told us to use the shower gel instead. Again, only after insisting did we get proper hand soap. No face towels were provided at all. • Very poor Wi-Fi: The connection was extremely weak and barely worked most of the time. Mobile network signal was also very poor in the area. • Breakfast: Extremely limited. You have to choose either a sweet or a savory option — not both. If you want to add anything, you have to pay a high extra fee. • Location: Very remote and far from the city. • Communication issues: Communication with the staff was very difficult as they barely spoke English — although they were generally kind. • Swimming pool: The water was extremely cold, making it nearly impossible to swim. - Value for money: Way too expensive for what it offers. Not worth it at all — you can find much better places at half the price.

Verified reviewExcellent assistance, cosy bed. Not many mosquitoes. Amazing five-star vista with monkeys, birds, and butterflies all around, and great orange juice for breakfast. The villa is about a 5-minute drive from a good Italian restaurant. Just to take in the stunning view, you may spend a day at this villa. It is among Bali's greatest views.
There are no windows or doors, so everything is open. You are responsible for any forest creatures that fly in or crawl towards you. Energy of nature and climate there are quite particular. The open concept doesn't suit me.

Verified reviewThe view was exceptional, it is in the middle of nowhere, so great to enjoy nature. The staff were extremely nice, explained to us clearly the instructions. The breakfast food was better than we expected.
The place is semi-open, which is great, but at the same time we didn't feel 100% safe. But in the end there were no issues at all.

Verified reviewThis place is absolutely stunning, offering an open design with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The private pool overlooking lush greenery adds a special touch, and at night, fireflies create a magical atmosphere. The space is beautifully designed with plenty of comfortable furniture for relaxing, both indoors and outdoors. The bed is cozy with a mosquito net, and there’s a fridge and kettle for convenience. One of the highlights is the wildlife – we saw monkeys, frogs, butterflies, and fireflies. The staff is incredibly friendly, and breakfast is delivered directly to the room, adding a luxurious feel. You can also order lunch and dinner via WhatsApp and have it brought to your room, making it easy to fully relax without needing to leave. It’s a perfect retreat for those seeking peace, solitude, and a deep connection with nature.
During the rainy season, the open design means rain and wind can come inside, leading to high humidity. There is no door between the living space and the bathroom, which might not be for everyone. Warm water was unavailable during our stay, though this may have been an exception. Communication with the staff via WhatsApp was possible but sometimes slow. While the experience is truly special, we’d recommend visiting in the dry season to fully enjoy its beauty and comfort.
